00:00But for the Philippine National Police, four people have already been killed in the storm.
00:07The police are still conducting rescue operations in affected areas of the country.
00:13That's what Ryan Lasigas reported.
00:16Please! Come here! It's true!
00:21It's true!
00:28Oh my God!
00:29This woman was just screaming as she was watching how the driver of this jeep caught fire in front of a hospital in Digas, Pialbay.
00:39According to witnesses, the jeep caught fire because the driver of the jeep was running on electricity.
00:46Residents in the area tried to save the driver's life, but they were unsuccessful.
00:53Oh my God!
00:56Jesus!
00:58Maybe he was running on electricity and then he got hit by a car.
01:03Oh my God!
01:05Oh my God!
01:09Four people have already been killed by the Philippine National Police, PNP, along with the victim of the Christine storm.
01:15Three of the fatalities are from Bicol Region.
01:18According to the situational report of PRO5, six people were injured while one person was missing.
01:25More than 300 barangays were affected by the flood, while 20 landslides were recorded.
01:31Samporito is in Albay.
01:33More than 20,000 families have been evacuated, or more than 67,000 individuals.
01:40As we speak, our PNP personnel, particularly those who are in Region 5,
01:46are currently helping the government to evacuate our countrymen who were affected by the flood,
01:55particularly those who were injured.
01:57So there were forced evacuations, and of course, the distribution of relief goods is ongoing.
02:03PRO9 also recorded one fatality while some people were missing from Region 8.
02:09The Philippine National Police was called upon to respond to the Christine storm.
02:14The heavy rain was pouring down, and the water level was rising.
02:18PRO5 personnel are still conducting rescue operations.
02:23In this video, you can see how high the water level is.
02:27As of now, we have deployed more than 2,000 PNP personnel,
02:32and we have around 10,000 reserved standby forces.
02:38This is readily available in case we need to add more PNP personnel,
02:43particularly in affected areas.
02:46In a message, PNP Chief Police General Rommel Marbil said
02:51that they are distributing mobility assets in different parts of the country.
02:55They also placed their personnel in affected areas for disaster response efforts
03:02and to provide humanitarian assistance.
03:04PNP Chief said that the priority of the PNP is the safety of the public
03:09and to help those affected by the storm.
03:12Even though there are police members who were affected by the Christine storm.
03:17Definitely, we are on a heightened alert to make sure that all available personnel
03:22are readily available for deployment.
03:24That is why the instruction of our chief PNP is to make sure
03:28that our affected PNP personnel are given assistance
03:33so that they do not forget that their own families are affected.
03:38We already created our incident command system and our body,
03:45particularly the OCD, the Armed Forces of the Philippines,
03:48the Philippine Coast Guard, and of course the DSWD
03:51which is in charge of the distribution of relief goods.
