00:00More than 6,000 runners participated in the Women's Run PH that was held last week in UP Diliman.

00:08This is the story of Bernadette Pinoy.

00:12It was only 4 o'clock in the morning when Christine Santilla was ready to compete in the 2024 Women's Run PH

00:20to run in the 10-kilometer event in the length of UP Diliman.

00:24Her preparation was not in vain because aside from getting a podium finish in the so-called sports event,

00:30Christine was also in the first place in the 10-kilometer event in the time of 4 to 7 minutes and 4 to 5 seconds.

00:37It was fun. This is the first time we'll have an all-female run.

00:40Usually, when there's a male runner, we're under a lot of pressure.

00:43But this time, I felt the women empowerment.

00:46Christine is one of the thousands of women who participated in the Women's Run

00:50to strengthen the physical and mental health of every Filipina.

00:54According to its CEO, Nicole De La Cruz, aside from the 10-kilometer event,

00:58there were also categories like the 5-kilometer run and 1-kilometer dash for children.

01:04We want to empower women, not just to celebrate but to empower them.

01:09Did you know that a lot of people participated in this?

01:11Last year, we had women with disabilities.

01:14Others were in wheelchairs.

01:16This time, we have women who are undergoing treatment for cancer.

01:21Others are cancer survivors.

01:23We are giving hope to them.

01:25Out of the 6,000 participants in the Women's Run this year,

01:28this is also the biggest achievement of the program since the start of the so-called events.

01:34This is a big help.

01:36We are united to meet here and talk to other women.

01:46We were inspired to fight for what we have now.

01:55The Women's Run will be held again in March 2025

01:59to celebrate the International Women's Month that can be held at the Mall of Asia Pasay City.
