00:18Today, we're checking out the cameras on the Xiaomi 12.
00:21Now, if you're new to the channel, camera vlog tests are when I take the cameras out on a spin
00:26so you see for yourself just how these cameras perform in real-life scenarios.
00:30To recap, the cameras on this phone are
00:32a 50MP main shooter that's very apparent in the module on the back,
00:37a 13MP wide camera, and a 5MP macro.
00:41Up front on that cutout is a 32MP selfie camera.
00:46Right, now that we have that covered, let's go and take some photos.

01:09Good morning!
01:10Front-facing camera of the Xiaomi 12, and we're shooting in 1080p,
01:15which is the max this phone can do.
01:18And, well, the rear cameras, on the other hand, can do up until 8K.
01:22But for purposes of sample shots, I'm showing you some 1080p samples.
01:281080p 30fps, so this is 1x.
01:35Can zoom up until 6x.
01:42And then, this is wide.
01:45You can also do 1080p 60fps, 1x, 6x, and this is wide.

02:10For purposes of this video, though, I will be trying to shoot in 4K,
02:14and you're watching 4K video right now.
02:174K right now, and we are on 1x.
02:20You can do up until 6x, and then you can do wide.

02:52Alright, so this is 4K, and like you saw, it can do wide and zoom in up until 60fps.
03:00This is so cute, miniature village.
03:094K 60fps right now, and if you zoom out to wide, it'll change back to 4K 30fps,
03:17and this zooms up until 6x as well.
03:21And then, this is 8K 24fps, and this is 6x, and it can go up until wide.
03:30Now, I know I'm not gonna be uploading this video in 8K,
03:33but at least you see the quality of the video throughout the different recording formats of this phone.

03:55You can do 1080p 60fps on the front-facing camera as well,
03:58and this is what you're looking at right now.
04:01There's even this movie frame mode on video, which we've seen before on Xiaomi phones.
04:061080p 30fps now, and I'm walking and talking.
04:09This is what that looks like. Now, this is the default resolution.
04:12I am a little sad that it doesn't do 4K with the front-facing cameras
04:16because I'm trying to upgrade all of my videos into 4K.
04:20But like you saw in the camera tour, there are so many camera features on this phone,
04:24so let's try more out.
04:26Okay, so I'm editing this vlog test, and I just wanna point out that,
04:29one, this angle, it was so backlit, so it was a really sunny day.
04:34Two, I saw that it didn't turn on HDR at first,
04:38and you'll see when I turned it on later on in the video.
04:41Back to the vlog.
04:42Oh, and yes, this is also shot on the front-facing camera of the Xiaomi 12.

05:16I was actually shooting with HDR off on video,
05:20and now this is what it looks like with HDR on.
05:23It is a very sunny day.
05:25Look at how many brown orchids there are. It's amazing.
05:31HDR right now turned on on the rear cameras too.
05:34Look at that sky.

05:56So those two steady modes are available on the rear cameras of the Xiaomi 12.
06:01However, they will switch your video to 1080p 30fps.

07:14Also, this is a Xiaomi phone, so aside from the many different camera features,
07:18there are beauty features.
07:20Right now, it's turned off.
07:21This is just the front-facing camera.
07:23And now, I've just turned on the beauty 5 feature.
07:26This is live on video.
07:28That's what that looks like.
07:30This is toggled up until 100 right now.
07:33And this is at 8, 9, and I would highly suggest,
07:37if you're going to use the beauty 5 feature, just a little bit.
07:43Beauty mode is fun, but as usual,
07:46flaws are normal.
07:48Just use it like makeup to enhance how you look.
07:51I found the bokeh mode, so there is a bokeh mode.

07:58And in comparison, just because it's such a wonderful view,
08:02this is the same video without the bokeh.
08:08This is bokeh for the rear cameras now,
08:11but it does turn back to like 720p.

08:18Alright, let's try out low-light cameras.
08:47So, I'm shooting with a front-facing camera right now.
08:501080p, 30fps.
08:51I'm gonna shut down some of the lights
08:54and see just how these cameras perform.
08:57So, we are sitting here in the dark.
08:59I mean, a little bit in the dark.
09:01We have one light over there,
09:03but everything else is turned off except for this other lamp.
09:08This is what that looks like.
09:10This is 4K30.
09:12Again, we are in the shadows,
09:14and I'm zooming up until 6x.
09:19Zooming out wide.
09:23Obviously, the 1x is doing, like, looking the best here.
09:27You see that switch?
09:28This is 1.8, 1.3, 1.1, 1, right?
09:36And then, wide.
09:39Ooh, this is night mode video.
09:42This is what this scene looks like.

09:54Okay, we turned off all lights except for the pink lamp in front of me.

10:31Right, we're sitting in the shadows right now,
10:33and it is this dark.
10:35This is a situation that's triggering the night mode.
10:38Even when there's a tiny source of light,
10:40it doesn't really trigger night mode.
10:42And I know this because when you shoot and it triggers night mode,
10:45even if you're on normal mode,
10:47it gives you an option for it shows that it's triggering night mode.
10:50And for context, this is video being shot by non-night mode.
