00:00This might just be your new podcast setup.
00:16Good day you beautiful people.
00:17Welcome to Izeta's Tech where we do tech in your life in style.
00:20You guys guessed it.
00:21We're talking about this mic in this video.
00:23This is the new Deity VO7U.
00:25I'm mouthful but yes.
00:28And yes you're hearing audio.
00:29It's being recorded with the mics right now.
00:32The audio brand's newest mic and in this video we're gonna be checking out the sound, how
00:36it's set up, what's new with the features and who is it for.
00:39Though I will say, if you're someone who like me struggles with audio and improving their
00:44audio or if you're a beginner who's looking for an audio solution because you wanna build
00:48a podcast or something.
00:50You guys, you might wanna keep watching.
00:52Right.
00:53Let's get to it starting with the unboxing experience.
00:58This mic comes in two iterations.
00:59You can get the podcast mic kit which includes the mic and a tripod but I got the USB podcast
01:06kit which includes not just the mic but also a pop filter, a boom arm stand, a desk lamp,
01:12two cords and basically everything you'll ever need to set up that podcast.
01:18Right.
01:20So we've set the mic up on the desk here.
01:22I'm gonna go through how we did that but take note that for this part of the video we're
01:26not using the mic for the audio because it's gonna be hard for me to like show you and
01:32then speak into the mic for the audio.
01:34Basically this thing is clamped to the side of my table.
01:37I like things clamped to the table because it just means there are less things on the
01:43floor.
01:44As you can see, I have sort of a border on the outside of my table but that wasn't a
01:48problem.
01:49It's still clamped on perfectly.
01:52And that beautiful white boom is just on here so this actually is something you- oh my god
01:59one hand.
02:00Yeah I don't know why I tried to do that with one hand but yeah this just slots in here
02:05like so.
02:06The mic screws in here.
02:08I especially love that this mic has a USB C to C cord because that's how it connects
02:15to my laptop.
02:16No need for adapters because it is C to C though this mic does come with a USB C to
02:22A cord.
02:23Now this is not a flimsy boom.
02:26It has a whole range of movement.
02:29This turns to, this turns to, and you can do this as well.
02:34On the side here you have a knob for your gain.
02:38On the other side is a knob for your headphones if you wanna monitor it.
02:42You can adjust the volume here.
02:44And at the back of that mic is where you plug in your USB C cord and this is where you plug
02:50in your headphones if you want to be monitoring.
02:53Down here you also have your mute button.
02:57So when you mute it the light turns red so you know that you're not recording.
03:02Now speaking of that light you guys already know I love it but you can press and hold
03:07this knob and it'll turn off.
03:09Press and hold to turn it on.
03:12And then there are also different colors and different patterns so you can choose a specific
03:19one and yeah there are a couple.
03:23I like pink.
03:27And then this one, Cascades, it's a different pattern but it's also all the different colors
03:32so you have all the choices there.
03:42I personally like this rainbow one though.
04:09Back on the Deity mic again.
04:10Now the thing with this mic is that it's plug and play.
04:13After setting it up on my desk I just plugged it into my Macbook and the audio you're hearing
04:17right now I recorded via the mic on GarageBand.
04:20No need to install apps or drivers or anything.
04:22And for context, this is PhotoBooth recording with the mic plugged in.
04:27This is how it sounds.
04:29And for comparison this is how the built-in Macbook mic sound.
04:34This is how it sounds.
04:36It even works on smartphones.
04:38So I'm recording this via the Samsung S22 and it's plugged into the Deity mic and the
04:44audio you're hearing from this mic.
04:47For context, I've unplugged the mic and this is what it sounds like.
04:51This is audio being recorded via the mic plugged into the phone.
04:58Imagine the possibilities.
05:02I can literally record a whole podcast on my phone now.
05:07Okay so here's the deal.
05:08Honestly, I don't consider myself an audiophile.
05:10Though in my content creator journey, sound and audio is something that I've been trying
05:15to constantly improve on.
05:17We've gone a long way but it's still a long way to go for me.
05:20But that's exactly why I like this mic.
05:22First of all, it's so easy to set up and use and there's instant improvement once you get
05:26that all done.
05:27Second, this thing is versatile.
05:28You can use it on your laptop, on your phone.
05:31Now I've always held true that some of the best tools are ones that make it easier for
05:36you to create.
05:37And that applies here.
05:38If you're looking for a sound solution, if you're starting a podcast, or if you just
05:43in general want to improve your audio, this is an easy recommendation for me because it
05:48also comes in this podcast kit and you don't need to think about anything else.
05:52It's quick, it's easy, and it sounds good.
05:56And as with a lot of things that I use, I don't only need it to be functional, I also
06:00need it to be fun.
06:02This is a very specific thing that I've been looking for in the mics that I use.
06:05And you can tell based on the mics that you've seen me use, from the Razer Siren or the HyperX
06:10Quadcast.
06:11And that's also why I love that this mic comes in white.
06:15I just feel like it looks better, it matches my aesthetics more, and I'm especially happy
06:19that the boom arm comes in white because this is something I've grappled with for a while.
06:26Notice I've decorated this with leaves to truly bolster my crazy plant lady.
06:31Haha.
06:32The thing is, you can actually see this in the video and I just didn't like how it looked.
06:37It's all black and industrial and it wasn't for me.
06:41I've been thinking of switching it out to a white one.
06:44I've actually once tried to spray paint a black boom a different color.
06:48And even from this angle, you can see that it's much better.
06:51Basically more white, but the boom isn't as intrusive as it comes into the frame because
06:56it sort of like matches the whole look, it's more clean.
06:59This matters a lot because as Joshua has always told me, mic placement is important
07:03when it comes to audio.
07:05So if you want better audio, the mic is gonna have to be in frame.
07:09I've never done that because I've never liked how like this whole boom situation looks with
07:13a mic.
07:14But this, this whole look, much better now for me.
07:18And that was my look at the Deity VO7U, still a tough name to remember, but a good mic.
07:23Let me know what you guys think.
07:24Do you like it?
07:25Do you think the audio sounds good?
07:27Did you get a white mic?
