00:00Good day, you beautiful people.
00:10Welcome to Pisa Does Tech, where we do tech in your life, in style.
00:13Exciting video today because you guys are going to come join me to my very first Google
00:18I.O.
00:19In this video, we're going to be checking out Google's newly released devices.
00:21I got hands-on time with the Pixel Fold, the Pixel 7a, and even the Pixel tablet.
00:26Exciting.
00:28But before we get into it, a quick shout-out to Team Pixel.
00:31Google did fly me out and give me accommodations for this event, and I did have sponsored content
00:37with them that went live on the Google Pixel TikTok page, but that was it.
00:41This video, I'm doing it just because I had such a great time, and the Pixel Fold is so
00:46cool, you guys.
00:47Right.
00:48So, let's get to it.
00:51Today's adventure.
00:56Touchdown Mountain View, California, where Google I.O. is being held, and for those of
01:00you who aren't new, this is Google's annual developer conference where they announce all
01:05the cool stuff.
01:06It's an exciting day.
01:08But before the announcements, snacks.
01:10Well, yeah, there was so much free food.
01:13They have everything here.
01:15The event opened with a very trippy video, which was AI-generated.
01:21Something about ducks, too.
01:25Suffice to say, we were hyped.
01:27What are you guys excited about?
01:31The Pixel Fold 7.
01:33Yeah!
01:46Good morning, everyone.
01:50Welcome to Google I.O.
01:54First up, AI features for Gmail.
01:57Writing emails has never been this easy with Help Me Write.
02:00Let's say you got this email that your flight was canceled.
02:04The airline has sent a voucher, but what you really want is a full refund.
02:09You could reply and use Help Me Write.
02:12Just type in the prompt of what you want, an email to ask for a full refund, hit Create,
02:18and a full draft appears.
02:21As you can see, it conveniently pulled in flight details from the previous email.
02:27And it looks pretty close to what you want to send.
02:30Maybe you want to refine it further.
02:33In this case, a more elaborate email might increase the chances of getting the refund.
02:42For Google Maps, there's Immersive View for Routes.
02:47I want to go on a bike ride.
02:49Maps has given me a couple of options close to where I am.
02:52I like the one on the waterfront, so let's go with that.
02:55Looks scenic.
02:56I want to get a feel for it first.
02:58Click on Immersive View for Routes, and it's an entirely new way to look at my journey.
03:03I can zoom in to get an incredible bird's eye view of the ride.
03:08And as we turn, we get on to a great...
03:16You can also check today's air quality.
03:18Looks like AQI is 43, pretty good.
03:21And if I want to check traffic and weather and see how they might change over the next few hours,
03:27I can do that.
03:28Looks like it's going to pour later, so maybe I want to get going now.
03:33Immersive View for Routes will begin to roll out over the summer.
03:37And launch in 15 cities by the end of the year.
03:40Including London, New York, Tokyo, and San Francisco.
03:44And one of the things I'm most excited about...
03:46This is a great photo.
03:48But as a parent, you always want your kid at the center of it all.
03:52And it looks like the balloons got cut off in this one.
03:55So you can go ahead and reposition the birthday boy.
03:58What?
03:59Magic Editor automatically recreates parts of the bench and balloons
04:04that were not captured in the original shot.
04:07We are excited to roll out Magic Editor in Google Photos later this year.
04:12Dude, I need that.
04:17New Android things were also announced.
04:19My highlights include...
04:21Find My Device
04:22It's powered by a network of billions of Android devices around the world.
04:26If you leave your earbuds at the gym, other nearby Android devices can help you locate them.
04:31Unknown Tracker
04:33It's important these warnings work on your Android phone.
04:36But on other types of phones as well.
04:39That's why last week we published a new industry standard with Apple.
04:43Outlining how Unknown Tracker alerts will work across all smartphones.
04:48And Magic Compose
04:49It's a new feature coming to Google Messages, powered by generative AI,
04:54that helps you add that extra spark of personality to a conversation.
04:58So just type your message like you normally would,
05:01and then choose how you want it to sound.
05:03Magic Compose will do the rest.
05:06So your messages give off more positivity, more rhymes, more professionalism.
05:12Oh my god.
05:14There are also fun wallpaper things like Emoji Wallpapers,
05:18which allow you to customize, well, exactly that.
05:21Emoji as wallpapers.
05:23And then pattern-wise, we've got a bunch of different patterns you can pick.
05:28I'm gonna pick Mosaic, that's my favorite.
05:30I'm gonna play Zoom.
05:32Let's see if we can get this just right.
05:34Okay, I got enough dots in there. Okay, cool.
05:36And then colors.
05:38Let's see.
05:40Let's go with a more muted one.
05:44Or maybe that one. That one looks good.
05:46We also now have Cinematic Wallpapers, and you can also do AI-generated wallpapers.
05:53Let me activate that, and then wait for it.
05:56Now, under the hood, we're using an on-device cognitional neural network to estimate depth,
06:01and then a generative adversarial network for in-painting as the background moves.
06:06The result is a beautiful cinematic 3D photo.
06:10And check out the parallax effect as I tilt the device.
06:13It literally jumps off the screen.
06:17And finally, the hardware announcements.
06:19Let's start with the one that I am most hyped about.
06:26This is the Pixel Fold, and of course, the main thing about it?
06:29It unfolds!
06:31Google's official entry to the foldable game,
06:33the Fold is a Google Tensor G2-run smartphone with a 7.6-inch unfolded screen.
06:39When folded, it has a better size than other foldables in the market,
06:43with a wider screen that might make it easier to fold.
06:46It also comes with a built-in fingerprint scanner,
06:49which can be used to scan your fingerprint.
06:53I'm not the biggest fan of foldies that unfold into a tablet,
06:56cause you guys know me, I like my clamshell foldies.
06:59But this east-to-west foldy size, I can get on board with.
07:03It comes in two colors, but...
07:05I really want this white one.
07:08The Pixel Fold has fun features like multitasking,
07:11a comfortable split keyboard for unfolded typing,
07:14tabletop mode, and more.
07:16It also comes with a built-in fingerprint scanner,
07:19a comfortable split keyboard for unfolded typing,
07:22tabletop mode,
07:23and camera modes like rear-cam selfies.
07:26Perfect for my Instagram shots!
07:28That looks good.
07:29And the back is turned off, yeah?
07:32Yeah.
07:33So you're not getting accessible touch.
07:34Yeah, perfect.
07:35Cause with the Oppo, I have to hold it like that.
07:38Yeah.
07:39I couldn't touch this thing.
07:40That's true.
07:41All fun stuff, but not necessarily new for foldies.
07:44But Google actually found another fun use case.
07:47Interpreter mode.
07:48Basically using that screen to show other people real-time translations.
07:52This is ingenious.
07:54All in all, I think that the Pixel Fold is really, really promising.
07:57I love the size of this foldable.
08:00And it is a very sleek foldy as well.
08:03Google did claim that it's the thinnest foldable,
08:06but in territories where they offer this foldy.
08:10So remember that caveat.
08:11And I will say, I have seen other foldies that fold thinner
08:16than the Google Pixel Fold.
08:18Although this particular foldy isn't being sold in a lot of places
08:22and definitely not in the US.
08:24What's better than a Pixel Fold?
08:26Two Pixel Folds.
08:27Mine now.
08:31The Pixel 7a is also official.
08:33And oh my gosh, it comes in this special edition coral color.
08:38It's so pretty!
08:39The $500 successor to the Pixel 6a runs on a Tensor G2 processor.
08:46It's available in the market right now where Pixel phones are available.
08:49And finally, there's also the Pixel Tablet,
08:52which redefines how we use our tablet.
08:55Also powered by a Google Tensor G2,
08:58this tablet includes a dock that's also a speaker.
09:02Now what's cool about this is that together,
09:04this speaker dock and tablet effectively becomes a smart home speaker
09:09with an 11-inch detachable screen.
09:12And yes, that dock does charge the tablet.
09:15Aside from that, it also comes with this cute silicone case
09:18that effectively fits with the speaker dock and becomes a stand in itself.
09:22Specifically, I'm definitely excited for that Pixel Tablet
09:25because I'm not a tablet person.
09:28It really resonated with me when they talked about
09:31how they wanted to change a tablet's use case.
09:34In Google's world, tablets are devices you can use at home
09:38for multiple purposes.
09:40That will also stand alone as sort of like a smart speaker
09:43or a smart screen.
09:44And I'm all for it.
09:45I love this implementation.
09:47I want it in my house.
09:49And I can't wait to test these devices out.
09:51Hopefully, we can make that happen.
09:53Anyway, that's it for today, you guys.
09:55Let me know what you think about this video.
09:56Let me know what you think about the devices
09:58that we just tested out.
