00:00Get over here!
00:02There have been a lot of folding phones shown at events over the past few weeks
00:06And these are phones that look pretty cool
00:08Like we've seen Samsung's Galaxy Fold
00:10We've seen Huawei's folding phone
00:12Oppo's folding phone
00:13And they look cool
00:14But ever since the idea of a folding phone has been presented to me
00:18I've always been skeptical of how useful they really are
00:21Like the whole question of why
00:23Why do we really want folding phones
00:24Has been something just
00:25I never was able to wrap my head around
00:27And the argument of like
00:29Multitasking, right?
00:30We've seen that argument being made
00:32And Samsung tried to show this at their event
00:34Where they had this dude who was watching a video
00:36And using a chat application
00:37And he was kind of switching between the two
00:39And doing some kind of multitasking
00:41But that whole scenario feels a little contrived
00:44Like no one's watching that video and thinking
00:45Hey, you know, that's me
00:47That's what I've been missing in my life
00:48I've always wanted a tablet-like device
00:51So I could multitask like that
00:52But, I saw this
00:54I saw this video
00:55And, you know what, I'll just let it play
00:59♪
01:16Right?
01:17Isn't that cool?
01:18Like, I look at that
01:19And my mind just starts to spin
01:20It's not because I'm huge on mobile gaming
01:22Like, I know some people think that
01:23Mobile gaming is the future
01:25And a ton of my favorite developers
01:26Are pouring crazy amounts of money into mobile gaming
01:28Which is a little bit controversial
01:30♪
01:32Do you guys not have phones?
01:33Yeah, you guys all have phones, right?
01:35Everyone's got a phone
01:36You can play on your tablet too
01:38But, seeing that screen open up
01:40And seeing the game transform
01:41From your regular mobile gaming experience
01:43To something that felt fundamentally different
01:45Fundamentally better
01:47From everything else on the market right now
01:49Just, it blew my mind away
01:51I thought, that's the future
01:52That's something that I would want to play
01:53Like, whatever that dude is playing right now
01:55Looks like some kind of MOBA
01:56I don't even care what he's playing
01:57I want to experience that
01:58I want to know what it's like to play that
02:00On a phone
02:01Because mobile gaming right now
02:02Isn't a particularly great experience
02:04Even if you have the best hardware out there
02:05Like, I don't know
02:06Like a Razer Phone 2
02:07Or the Asus ROG phone
02:08Those are dedicated gaming phones
02:10You still have the issues of like
02:11Fingers covering your screen
02:13And what you're looking at
02:14It's just an experience that never felt ideal to me
02:17And developers have to work with that, right?
02:19They know that your fingers are the things controlling it
02:21And it's just
02:22It's a nightmare
02:23Mobile gaming to me
02:24Is just not a great experience
02:26But you look at that hardware
02:27Now, your control interface is separated from the action
02:30And the whole gaming experience looks to be a lot better
02:33So I'm not saying like
02:34Everyone should go out and spend $2500
02:36On a mobile gaming experience
02:38Certainly not
02:39But this was the first
02:40Like, usage of a folding phone
02:42That made me think
02:43That this was fundamentally better
02:45This was fundamentally different
02:47From anything else we'd seen before
02:49And it made me realize
02:50That I've probably been too close-minded
02:52About the whole folding phone technology
02:54Like, I've always thought
02:55That it would be a future
02:56That we could potentially have
02:58But right now
02:59I feel like
03:00It's a much more likely scenario
03:01Because I can actually see
03:03People using that technology
03:04In ways that I just never saw before
03:06Like, if you have a big foldable screen
03:08You could technically use it
03:09Like some bizarro laptop
03:10With the keyboard on the bottom
03:12And there's just so much more utility
03:13To this foldable screen tech
03:14That we haven't discovered yet
03:16I just want to talk about one last thing
03:18Is with the pricing
03:19So when we look at these $2000 price tags
03:21It's like, such a turn off
03:22And it should be
03:23Like, these are supposed to be insane prices
03:25Because it's first generation stuff
03:27But give it some time
03:28And I feel like the price has to drop
03:30Like, who knows
03:31Maybe in a few years
03:32We might have like a $300 or $400
03:33Pocophone folding device
03:35Which would be crazy
03:36But, I don't know
03:37I feel like this
03:38That clip
03:39Changed the way that I thought
03:40About the whole folding phone thing
03:42Okay, hope you guys enjoyed this video
03:44I'm really curious to see
03:45What you guys think about this
03:46Because I know there's a lot of you
03:48That felt the same way like I did
03:50Who needs a folding phone
03:51But does that kind of open your mind?
03:53Does it make you think differently about it?
03:54Let me know in the comments below
03:55Okay, hope you guys enjoyed this video
03:56Thumbs if you liked it
03:57Subs if you loved it
03:58See you guys next time
