00:00Hi there, it's a fine weekend for most of us and with increasingly sunny skies over
00:06the next few days, we can expect increasingly high temperatures but for the time being it's
00:11not entirely sunny out there. There is a fair amount of cloud around associated with a couple
00:16of weak fronts. One weak front just clearing the south east responsible for a few light
00:22showers across parts of East Anglia and the south east, mostly towards the far east, east
00:27of London generally. Elsewhere, brightening skies, some sunshine coming through but thickening
00:33cloud for western Scotland, western parts of Northern Ireland where we'll see some outbreaks
00:37of light rain move in. In between where we do get the sunshine coming through, temperatures
00:42up to 21 to 23 Celsius so no heatwave yet but certainly feeling pleasant enough compared
00:49with what we've experienced so far this June. Now the weak front that I mentioned towards
00:54the north west, that will make some progress inland across central Scotland, the rest
00:58of Northern Ireland overnight and it will bring some light and patchy rain. That rain
01:02and drizzle reaching Cumbria during the early hours, parts of west Wales for example. It
01:07tends to fizzle but it results in a lot of low cloud for northern and western England,
01:13parts of Wales, some mist and murk around coastal parts, meanwhile clearing skies for
01:17Scotland and Northern Ireland. Parts of the east midlands, east Anglia and the south east
01:21stay clear as well but it's going to be a slightly warmer night compared with recent
01:27nights. Temperatures mostly in the double figures although could dip into the single
01:31figures where we get some shelter spots and a few mist and fog patches possible first
01:36thing. More widespread mist and drizzle around the hills and coast of Wales and the south
01:42west. Now inland, it's going to take some time but inland this cloud sheet will tend
01:48to break up and the sun will return by the afternoon. However, for many, especially across
01:53southern parts, it will be mostly cloudy for the bulk of the day and certainly we'll see
01:58some lingering low cloud and mist around the coast, mainly the south coast of the south
02:04west of England. But for parts of north Wales, northern England, Scotland, Northern Ireland,
02:10plenty of sunshine, a fine summer's day and temperatures reaching 21, 22 Celsius generally
02:17in the north, further south where we do get some sun coming through, 25 Celsius possible.
02:23Now it's really later in the day that this cloud more widely breaks up although we'll
02:29keep some mistiness around some of these south coasts through the evening. There'll be additional
02:35cloud floating into the north west of Scotland, perhaps some rain just skirting Lewis and
02:40Harris with a freshening breeze here. But for generally most of the UK, we've got high
02:48pressure in charge and that's going to bring plenty more fine weather on Monday and into
02:53Tuesday. As that high drifts to the east, we'll see this plume of warmth arrive from
02:58the continent and increasingly high temperatures up to 30 Celsius in one or two spots by Wednesday.
03:05So some summer sunshine, increasing temperatures, very high UV in places, also high pollen levels.
03:13So we'll keep you updated right here at the Met Office.
