00:00Good morning, and welcome to the commercial fishing vessels in the ocean of Barangay Colon, San Isidro, Davao, Oriental.
00:15This is the joint maritime law enforcement operation of the Naval Forces of Eastern Mindanao,
00:21under the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Region 11.
00:25As of October 7, illegal fishing activities in the municipal waters have been shut down.
00:32The violations include the removal of licenses and the use of unlicensed fishing gear.
00:40Authorities have been forced to confiscate fishing vessels and fishing nets,
00:48nets, active gear and other fishing paraphernalia,
00:52up to Php 8 million.
00:54Rodrigo Kinko and the crew of 37 vessels were also arrested.
01:02They were also turned over to the BFAR Region 11 for filing a case against them.
01:09The Philippine Eagle, which roamed the ocean in Barangay Salab,
01:16Petco, Tabato Province, in Mt. Apon, was captured on October 2.
01:22The Department of Environment and Natural Resources of the DNR Region 12
01:28has signed an agreement with local patrollers in the area where the Philippine Eagle is considered critically endangered.
01:36According to the Philippine Eagle Foundation,
01:38only Php 392 of the Philippine Eagle can be purchased in Kalasangan.
