00:00G'day, I'm Paul. Today I'm going to take you through a detailed review of Jeep's Uconnect
00:04infotainment system, plus some of the features you can experience in it, along with the display
00:09ahead of the driver you'll find in a lot of Jeep's vehicles. Now, if you haven't done so already,
00:13make sure you have a look at the rest of our channel where we have a stack of car reviews,
00:16some drag races and other interesting content as well. Anyway, let's get started.
00:21So, it's an 8.4 inch screen. Starting off here, we have shortcut buttons all down the bottom.
00:27In terms of radio, you have AM, FM, DAB plus digital radio, so that's fully featured. If we
00:32jump over to media, this is where you're able to stream through your phone, through a Bluetooth
00:36connection, or through auxiliary or USB connections attached to the car. If we jump over to the climate
00:42menu, just for completeness, you can operate your seat heating functions here, and then when you do
00:47switch the climate on, all of the controls come here and the ability to sync, move temperatures
00:52up and down and also select different zones as well. In terms of apps, you have all of your
00:57smartphone connectivity accessed through this screen, so this is what Apple CarPlay looks like.
01:01Really impressive setup. It is very high resolution, and while it isn't full screen, it takes
01:06up pretty much all of the screen that it needs to, and that integration looks really good. I'll show
01:10you what Android Auto looks like. Another integration similar in size to Apple CarPlay,
01:16also super high resolution. If we go into the maps there, that all seems to work really nicely
01:20as well, so it's good that you have the flexibility of both Android and Apple devices there, and in
01:24terms of other apps in the apps menu, there really isn't much else there. This is just a shortcut to
01:30access other parts of the car. If we jump over to controls, this simply takes us back to the menu
01:35item related to climate, which is our heated seats. Now what I love here, it has inbuilt satellite
01:40navigation. If we go to the map here, you can see that it is quite a fast and responsive map, but my
01:45favourite feature is I can configure what the icon looks like, so I can go through here and select
01:51different things such as other Jeep products. Go for a Wrangler, and if we go back to the map menu,
01:57there's our little Wrangler there. Let's see how quick it is. We'll try and enter a new destination.
02:01We'll put in our go-to, which is Melbourne Airport. That is super fast for typing, you know, I like that.
02:08Airports, search. Yeah, look, that's not too bad. It had a little bit of lag there, but once it comes
02:15up, it gives us all of the options that we need, so that is all good. All of this is also backed up
02:20by a voice recognition system, so one push of this on the steering wheel brings up the native voice
02:25recognition, and then if you do have a smartphone paired using a wired Apple CarPlay or Android Auto
02:31interface, it will then send the voice commands through that, which are generally more accurate
02:34because they're using the cloud. Moving on from that screen, ahead of the driver is another color
02:39LCD display. You control that using the steering wheel controls, and you can see here there are a
02:44number of menus to go through, including setup for the car and also display, and then you can also
02:48switch randomly the speedometer from kilometers an hour to miles per hour, kind of redundant for us,
02:54and then you have a whole stack of trip computer information along with vehicle information too,
02:58and then on top of that, if you do change drive modes, you'll see the screen ahead of the driver
03:02change as well as you flick through them. Thank you for watching, and if you did enjoy this video,
03:06make sure you hit the like button, follow it up with the subscribe and the bell icon as well,
03:10and make sure you have a look at the rest of the videos on our channel, but until next time, take it easy.
