00:00This weekend, several OFWs from Lebanon returned to the country.
00:04This was confirmed by the Department of Migrant Workers.
00:08Let's get an update from Noel Talacay, live. Noel?
00:14Audrey, the Department of Migrant Workers, or DMW, confirmed that overseas Filipino workers
00:22from Lebanon arrived a while ago.
00:25The agency also said that they opened two new migrant workers' offices in Central Europe.
00:36Two OFWs from Lebanon returned to the country today.
00:41This was said by DMW Secretary Hans Leo Kakdak in a press briefing today.
00:47On Saturday and Sunday, 20 OFWs returned to the country.
00:53DMW said that 192 OFWs from Lebanon returned to the country before the end of October.
01:02According to the agency, the country is still on alert level 3 due to the rise of the Israel Defense Forces
01:09and the rebelling group Hezbollah in Lebanon.
01:13According to Migrant Workers, there are 11,000 OFWs in Lebanon.
01:19There are 500 OFWs from the country who submitted their voluntary repatriation.
01:28The process is first, of course, receipt of the request for repatriation at the DMW level.
01:38We process and then we endorse to Lebanese Immigration, what's called General Security,
01:44and from there, we wait until exit clearances are issued by Lebanon Security.
01:53And then, once released, then we book them on commercial flights.
01:58Meanwhile, DMW's services will be closer to our OFWs in Central Europe.
02:07Secretary Kakdak announced that the two Migrant Workers' Offices in Vienna, Austria,
02:13the 40th Migrant Workers' Office or MWO, and Budapest in Hungary, the 41st,
02:22have 8,000 OFWs in Austria.
02:25The MWO Austria also includes the countries of Croatia, Slovenia, and Slovakia.
02:32In total, it has 12,000 OFWs.
02:36While the MWO in Budapest includes Bosnia, Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Moldova, and Montenegro.
02:47And it has 5,373 OFWs.
02:50In Hungary, according to the DMW data, it has 12,000 OFWs
02:56who work in the sector of manufacturing, agriculture, and food services.
