00:00We can make a first assessment because after 45 years we have carried out, in our message
00:12of every year with this celebration in the Senate of the Republic, a half-day that works,
00:17that operates, that produces and outside the stereotypical schemes of a half-day that
00:24wants only assistencialism and therefore this has been one of our goals, to highlight,
00:30to give visibility to the great excellences of our territory, both in the field of institutions,
00:39of culture, of the economy, of all the sectors that produce today in a different light the
00:47half-day that opens in an area of the Mediterranean and on this we have also carried out a special
00:54section that was held in Naples for the Mediterranean area and therefore there too it will be a speech
01:01that we will carry out by expanding the award to a Euro-Mediterranean level. We have awarded
01:08great characters together then also to young people, this is important to emphasize because
01:14the award is born for young people and therefore a passage of almost a witness between, let's say, these
01:21young people, these great characters, we said, and these young people who face, let's say,
01:27the studies they have carried out, the studies of economy, let's say of art, of all sectors
01:34on the half-day and in the half-day. Important characters, I can tell you, we have awarded
01:41for the institutions, let's say, two presidents of the Republic, Giorgio Napolitano, Giovanni Leone,
01:47we have awarded Nobel Prizes of Italian and Southern origin, like Dulbecco, Modigliani,
01:53we have awarded other great Italian journalists, exponents also abroad of the half-day,
02:02in short, last year we awarded an ex-mayor of New York, of Blasio, of Southern origin,
02:09of Campania. Today also the Minister Piantadosi, who is a man of the South, is a man who continues
02:16to have a great relationship, a great bond with his native land, Irpinia, and has
02:24witnessed this relationship just in the days before last, calling in Irpinia, Mirabella e Clano,
02:31a center of Irpinia of very ancient, historical art, let's say, a G7 of the ministers of the interior,
02:39and he continues to carry on, practically, for two years, since he was appointed to the Viminale,
02:45he took over the position of Minister of the Interior to the Viminale, also an activity of protection
02:50of our territories, which are still unfortunately, in many ways, invaded by crime.
02:56And the thread that unites them all is a civil commitment, a commitment of all to continue
03:01to do this battle of ours for the half-day, clearly in new terms, not those of bear guide,
03:07but in any case, he had also aspired to a new awareness, which is taking place
03:13this half-day, which changes the paradigm, which changes everything a little, and therefore
03:18this hope and this hope for us has also come out of this meeting today.
