00:00Previously, we kicked off with a double room reveal.
00:04Oh!
00:05It's office and rumpus week.
00:07Two rooms and a hallway.
00:09It's really three spaces.
00:11Biggest week ever!
00:13It actually is.
00:14It actually is the biggest week ever.
00:16Definitely harder than any other week we've done on the block,
00:18for sure.
00:20A lot of pressure.
00:22Do better!
00:23Do better?
00:24Yeah, you do better if you're sleeping all night.
00:26I didn't even get to ask you how your day was
00:28and you were like, I'm gonna go.
00:30I don't care.
00:32We had Neil Whittaker judging.
00:35It's not a bad hallway.
00:37It's just not an exciting hallway.
00:39And the winner of Hellway Week...
00:41...was house number two.
00:43Yay!
00:45We won!
00:46And just to add to the pressure pile-on,
00:48we threw in the domain listing and buyer's jury.
00:52And it's worth a whopping...
00:55Why not add a bit more pressure to this week?
00:57And tonight, cracks of self-doubt begin to show.
01:00I just feel like we're not getting that much recognition
01:03and now I'm doubting myself.
01:04Don't doubt yourself.
01:05This pressure-filled week leaves some close to breaking point.
01:09We haven't even got plaster hung upstairs yet.
01:11We're three-quarters of the way through.
01:13You're so emotionally tied.
01:15Unfortunately, it's part of the block.
01:16Everyone goes through that rollercoaster ride.
01:18They're probably the deepest at the moment.
01:21But before we get to all of that,
01:23we have a very important order of business to attend to first.
01:31It's the domain buyer's challenge.
01:36Oh, my God.
01:37We've been thinking about this day all week.
01:39It's very exciting.
01:40We just took a big deep breath and just game-faced on.
01:44Oh, hello.
01:46It feels like this is the first time
01:48we're seeing the glamorous side of the block.
01:50Socialising, mingling, it's completely my jam.
01:54I love it.
01:55Now, for those just joining us,
01:57here's what you need to know about the challenge.
02:02Guys, you have got to hold an amazing open home event.
02:06Your buyers in your party
02:09will be voting for the house that they like the best.
02:14Scotty's invited...
02:15Adrian Portelli and...
02:17Danny Wallace and Frank.
02:19Frank from...
02:20Yeah, the buyer's advocate.
02:22Yeah, super successful people.
02:24Yeah, it's crazy. Crazy.
02:28We've got...
02:29Alcohol, we've got canapes, musicians.
02:33Bar crusher, DJ, couple of dancers.
02:36My parents are cooking.
02:37That will create that emotional connection.
02:39There'd be nothing better than that.
02:41I have no idea.
02:43Just throw it all in and hope for the best.
02:45Bling, bling.
02:47$50,000, thanks to Domain.
02:51The only app you can see all of this year's block listings.
02:54It's a massive prize.
02:56$50,000 would basically pay for our landscaping.
03:00Yeah, it goes straight into our landscaping, for sure.
03:02That will help us out to create a beautiful front and backyard.
03:05$50K to our budget would send us in the red to deep into the green.
03:10Maybe that's actually our game changer.
03:12Case in point,
03:13last year's winners of this very challenge, Steph and Gianne,
03:16went on to dominate at their end-of-season auction.
03:25So it's no surprise that this season
03:27our blockheads have gone all out
03:29to impress a flood of new prospective buyers.
03:37We've got three ovens, two of which are a five-in-one.
03:40Best view on the block.
03:41Outside is going to be all entertaining.
03:43Fireplace.
03:44It's a very relaxed feel, but beautiful finishes.
03:47If you have it as a holiday house, you can Airbnb that out
03:50and you can be here.
03:51I like their idea about what they're going to do
03:53with the upstairs area.
03:55That could be a bit of a game changer for them as well.
03:58How are you, mate?
03:59Ricky, nice to meet you.
04:01You get the best parts of the beach in here.
04:03You get something very coastal.
04:05It's beautiful.
04:06Hello!
04:07I'm Kylie.
04:08It's a bit of Humphrey Bogart.
04:10Yeah, it's fabulous.
04:12Courtney and I would love to thank everyone for being here.
04:15Yeah, we appreciate it.
04:16Thanks, guys.
04:17Can't wait to see what people think of Everybody's Home,
04:20whether the judges have gotten it right
04:22for the last seven weeks.
04:24Yeah, really keen.
04:26Now that you're all up to speed,
04:28it's time to find out who tallied the most votes.
04:31I'm nervous all night until right now.
04:35I think I'm excited just as much as I am positive.
04:38We were pretty positive that we'd be up there.
04:40We had actually heaps of positive feedback.
04:42We feel really good and really confident.
04:44You're just hoping that you've done enough.
04:46Well, congratulations, gang.
04:48You really pulled out all the stops tonight, didn't you?
04:51Not only setting up a fantastic listing,
04:53but also an open house to remember.
04:55Only fitting, considering it's our 20th season on the block,
04:59and I'm glad I dusted off the old people.
05:02And I'm glad I dusted off the old penguin suit.
05:07And, Shel, you look like a bloody gold logie.
05:11CHEERING
05:12Beautiful.
05:14She's beautiful.
05:15We should be so lucky to pick one of those.
05:17I tell you what, we had a lot of fun, didn't we, guys?
05:19Wandering from house to house, enjoying the soiree.
05:22It was a fabulous evening.
05:24If anyone knows a thing or two about entertaining,
05:26it is, of course, our esteemed guest tonight,
05:30Neil!
05:31Were they parties to impress?
05:33Oh, I am blown away.
05:36That was five incredible parties.
05:38And, guys, you know that if all goes belly up,
05:42you have all got careers as party planners.
05:45Seriously.
05:46They're amazing.
05:48Considering, Neil, that you are handing out the staggering
05:51and potentially block-winning $50,000 cash.
05:56Thanks to the money.
05:58Here it comes.
05:59Here it comes.
06:00Oh!
06:01Oh!
06:05Thank you very much.
06:08What does $50,000 look like in a suitcase?
06:10Please, this is what dreams are made of, aren't they?
06:13This is...
06:14ALL GASP
06:16Yes!
06:17Run, Winnika, run!
06:19LAUGHTER
06:21Thank you very, very much.
06:23Now, before we tally the votes, we would like to say thank you
06:26to you guys for throwing extraordinary parties,
06:28but also to your agents,
06:30who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes,
06:33not just this week,
06:34but obviously offering you advice all the way along.
06:36So to all our real estate agents here tonight,
06:38thank you very, very much.
06:40CHEERING
06:44Not to mention our favourite buyers,
06:46having it Frank Valenti.
06:47Thank you for coming.
06:49And our two VIPs, Adrian Bertelli and Danny Wallace.
06:53Thank you there.
06:55They've become invested.
06:56I can't believe they like each other now.
06:58LAUGHTER
06:59Way to the auction.
07:01And, of course, it wouldn't be a Domain Challenge
07:04without Domain's resident property expert,
07:06the wonderful Alice.
07:08CHEERING
07:11All right, Sheldon.
07:12Hang on, hang on.
07:13Did I announce, I know there's $50,000 on the line here,
07:16but there is also lunch with Alice and myself tomorrow.
07:19Oh, lovely.
07:20Yes, whoever takes out tonight's challenge
07:22will also join me and Alice at the Phillip Island Winery.
07:25She's going to spill the tea on what the buyers really thought.
07:29Wow.
07:30Come on, Sheldon, let's get to it.
07:32I've got my texter ready.
07:34All right.
07:35This is a percentage of the vote, right?
07:37It is a percentage of the vote.
07:39You ready?
07:41House one.
07:43Eight percent.
07:45Oh.
07:46Oh.
07:51House two.
07:5417 percent.
08:01House three.
08:0329 percent.
08:05CHEERING
08:11No.
08:12House four.
08:1619 percent.
08:19Now, Sheldon, I want you to give me
08:24the first digit of the last house, please.
08:30Two.
08:31Two.
08:36Oh, winner of $50,000 is coming up right now.
08:40The hearts on the boys are pumping out of their chest.
08:43And so are these, guys.
08:45You've got your whole family from Adelaide with us.
08:49Second digit, Sheldon.
08:54Seven.
08:55Oh!
08:56Which means our winners are...
08:58..House number three!
09:00CHEERING
09:14Come on.
09:17Come and get your 50, mate!
09:23CHEERING
09:29There it is, baby.
09:30There it is, 50 Gs.
09:32How's that, Bertie?
09:33Thank you very much.
09:34Eh?
09:35Good work, brother.
09:36Well done, mate.
09:37Nice.
09:38Well done.
09:39Congratulations.
09:40Good work.
09:41Thanks, Scotty.
09:42Well done.
09:43Good job.
09:46Ladies and gentlemen, thank you all for coming.
09:49Unfortunately, these beautiful people here
09:52need to paint all night.
09:54No!
09:55What?!
09:56Scotty, that's highly unlikely, mate.
09:58I'm telling you.
09:59Not tonight, brother.
10:00No!
10:01I'm going to bed.
10:02You're not painting tonight?
10:03Not tonight.
10:04No.
10:05Roger that.
10:06Go back to your parties.
10:07Enjoy the evening.
10:08Good night.
10:09See you.
10:10Boys, how's the party?
10:13Didn't lose much.
10:14Just a little bit.
10:15It's fine.
10:16It's fine because we still have so long to go
10:20to create a beautiful home.
10:23Nice one, Brick.
10:24Good on you.
10:26They're getting absolutely crucified by the judges
10:28every single week and they haven't won a room yet.
10:31But then for the public to say,
10:32not only can you throw a good party,
10:34but we actually like your style the best,
10:37they are actually doing well
10:39and the judges aren't the ones buying your home in the end.
10:42And now they've won the most money.
10:46I think it's only fair.
10:47You get the baby, I get the cash.
10:48What do you reckon?
10:49Yeah, nah.
10:50The cash goes to house, mate.
10:51Oh, cool.
10:52Winning that 50k cash,
10:53we knew that we'd just gone from
10:55pushing barrows ourselves
10:56to being able to finish on a very strong note.
10:59We could win the block now.
11:00We could.
11:03Brackon's at house three, baby.
11:06I hope there's no noise restrictions
11:08because we're breaking them early.
11:10Let's go!
11:11Let's go.
11:12House three, baby.
11:13House three.
11:14House three.
11:15House three.
11:16House three.
11:17House three.
11:18House three.
11:29Morning!
11:36Good to see those who have decided to join us this morning.
11:42There was a couple of contestants not at pre-start.
11:53And, yeah, I think they partied on till, like, 6am.
11:57I cannot believe that people have the energy to do that.
12:00Like, hats off to them that they actually could do that.
12:03I could not stay up to 6am.
12:04Like, I was struggling to stay to 9.30.
12:10Did you party the night away?
12:11I partied the night and morning away.
12:14I was sleeping by 10.30.
12:15Decided to try and catch up on some sleep.
12:18And I have FOMO, so I have to be the last to leave.
12:21Do you want to tell us what time you went to bed?
12:23I went to bed at 6.
12:24She stayed up in...
12:25With H, me and Mickey.
12:27Then they got all the kids' games out
12:29and had a great time, didn't they?
12:31We celebrated for quite a little while,
12:33and, um, yeah, we...
12:35I think we drifted off back to bed at around 4.30.
12:39Yeah, you might have sensed it.
12:43Was that good to blow off some steam?
12:45I think it came at a right time.
12:47This week has been, hands down,
12:49Christian and Mimi's worst week on the block so far.
12:52Things kicked off with their site getting shut down.
12:55I'm going to go downstairs, stop all works
12:57and close them down till it's clean up.
13:00There were tears.
13:02Can I just have five minutes, please?
13:04There were overreactions.
13:06How fucking embarrassing is here?
13:08Who the fuck acts like that?
13:10Which led to House 5 failing to finish their hallway
13:13in time for yesterday's reveal.
13:15I know, look, it's not your finest moment, mate,
13:17but it happens.
13:19It's the curse of Hell Week,
13:21and do you know what?
13:22It happens to the best of them.
13:25But this morning,
13:26Christian is about to get some positive news
13:28about his downstairs rumpus room.
13:30Hi, mate.
13:32This is all good.
13:33Lovely.
13:34Got your double lint zone, got your walls in.
13:36Yep.
13:38Ready to plaster.
13:39Let's go, baby.
13:40Will they...
13:42They should set this today?
13:43Yep.
13:44And hopefully we'll sand it tomorrow
13:45and start painting tomorrow.
13:47Are you going to paint that tonight?
13:49No, if there's nothing to do tonight,
13:51I'll sand and do the hallway, but...
13:53Not a priority at this point.
13:57How's everything looking in the rooms today?
14:01One room's looking like it's on the right track.
14:05The other room's looking like it would be OK
14:07if it was Tuesday.
14:09This week, House 5 had the added problem
14:12of working across two levels.
14:14They've decided to turn their upstairs office space
14:17into an extra bedroom.
14:19And downstairs, this room earmarked as a guest bed
14:22will now become their rumpus room.
14:24We've still got this room upstairs.
14:26They're still in all the hallway, staircase.
14:29It's a lot to do.
14:32We've been set a tough, tough task,
14:35so that's why I've been stressed a little bit.
14:44I'm gonna soak up the sun
14:50It's a beautiful morning here at Phillip Island today.
14:53The sun is shining, the birds are singing,
14:56and there's fresh coffee brewing.
14:58But where are all our blockheads?
15:01Well, down the back in House 3,
15:03Builder Duncan has arrived on site
15:05and is ready to check in with his team.
15:07But I think he's about to get a little surprise.
15:10Are the boys still asleep?
15:12I haven't seen the boys yet,
15:14and there's someone asleep on the couch.
15:16Oh.
15:19It's their friend.
15:21It's not one of the boys.
15:25OK, well, that's a little awkward.
15:27There's still fire in the fire,
15:29which means it's not been that long
15:31since they were logs put on there.
15:33It was a bit of a slow start this morning.
15:36I don't think we set an alarm.
15:38And I think Arash the barber
15:40might have slept on the couch, didn't he?
15:42He did. Yeah.
15:44Good morning.
15:46Sounds to me like we're going to have
15:48some very sleep-deprived blockheads on our hands today.
15:52How are we, winners?
15:56Morning.
16:00I can't quite see.
16:02I don't know what the **** is going on here.
16:04That light's too bright, so...
16:08What's going on here?
16:17Do you know what I'm saying?
16:19What the **** is going on here?
16:21How is this?
16:26No.
16:39Well, that's today's task over.
16:42You might not have many memories from that morning, Rick.
16:46That morning was a bit of a blur.
16:48I did go pretty hard after the challenge on Thursday.
17:00Is there a run-off on what?
17:01A pre-start tomorrow morning?
17:02I won't be a pre-start.
17:04That's video confirmation.
17:08What day is it?
17:10Friday. Guess what that means.
17:12Scotty and Shelly walk-arounds.
17:15I'm going to get ready for Shelly.
17:17Oh, wait, I already have. I've got a tux on.
17:21So, yeah, Friday's a bit blurry for me.
17:24I just need a couple of hours to get hydrated,
17:28get myself back in the game.
17:29So, I'm good. I'm ready to go.
17:31I'm ready for another all-nighter. Let's go.
17:33Hope you enjoyed your stay at the block, Arish.
17:35See you, mate.
17:39Up the front in House 5,
17:41after failing to make hallway reveal just yesterday,
17:44Christian is keeping a very close eye
17:46on the plastering progress in his downstairs rumpus room.
17:49But as yet, there's still no sign of his wife, Mimi.
17:53Scotty and Shelly walk-arounds. Did you participate in those?
17:55Yes, I sure did.
17:56Oh, great. Wow. How was that?
17:58Um...
17:59Mimi woke up 15 minutes before Scotty and Shelly
18:02rocked up to House 5.
18:04Tried to smash some food, drink some water,
18:07take her makeup off.
18:08Bam. Present.
18:11What?
18:12Oh, hello, kids.
18:14Hi. G'day. Hey, Scotty.
18:16Hello, mate.
18:17Hiya, Dylan.
18:18Hello, Mimi.
18:19What's the matter, Mimi?
18:20Come on, give us a hug.
18:21All right?
18:22Yeah, I'm good. How are you today?
18:23Yes, a lot better.
18:24I missed you yesterday.
18:25It's just too much.
18:26You're a lot better than yesterday.
18:28Have you been supporting and looking after your mate?
18:31Yeah.
18:32He's very rough day yesterday. He was very upset.
18:34He'd been working so hard.
18:36Mimi had a rough day as well.
18:37Did ya?
18:38Yeah.
18:39I was cooking. How unreal was that?
18:41I love Vietnamese food and it was beautiful.
18:44And they've gone now.
18:45Yeah, they left last night to open business this morning.
18:48They drove last night, yeah.
18:49How on earth do you thank them for that effort?
18:51Fantastic.
18:52Brilliant.
18:53And I messaged them, I was like,
18:54I'm sorry I disappointed you by not winning.
18:56You did not disappoint them, Mimi.
18:58You were this close.
18:59I know.
19:00I heard it was one vote.
19:01Yes, it was one vote.
19:02Heartbreak.
19:03We came short by one vote.
19:06To be so close and, you know,
19:08to put the hallway as a priority for this week
19:11for that very reason,
19:13just a little bit of heartbreak to add to our already terrible week.
19:17But the confidence that people loved your house,
19:21the confidence that it felt like an entertainer's paradise,
19:24that's got to give you a little bit of wind in your sails for today.
19:28Yeah, 100%.
19:29I think we woke up this morning feeling a lot better
19:31than we were the last couple of days,
19:32purely from the positive feedback.
19:34Yeah.
19:35Do you know who voted for your house?
19:37Adrian and Danni.
19:39And they had two votes each.
19:41Adrian and Danni both voted for our house.
19:46Which is huge.
19:49Please have a bidding war.
19:51Besides the $50,000 prize that House 3 got,
19:54I think that was probably the next best thing.
19:56100%.
19:58Hey, what are you doing in here?
19:59You changed this around, didn't you?
20:01This was meant to be a bedroom.
20:02Yes.
20:03This is your rumpus because you want it to access the pool.
20:05Correct.
20:06We made the executive decision a couple of weeks ago
20:08and it was a relief to lock it in.
20:10Terrific.
20:11Christian and Mimi's new ground floor rumpus area
20:14now has direct access to their backyard pool
20:17and ensuite bathroom.
20:19Christian and Mimi are adding in herringbone wooden floors,
20:22Javan's sofa, coffee table, wooden cabinet,
20:25glass sliding door, chair curtains
20:28and an aquatic-inspired artwork.
20:30I think the other thing that we had in mind as well
20:32is if, you know, you've got a long day at the beach,
20:34you come back and you're all sandy,
20:35you can also come through the side gate.
20:37We're going to put a little shower there
20:38or, you know, you can come in and use the shower as well.
20:41We're going to do an outdoor shower.
20:42But also, if you're in the pool and you need to go to the toilet,
20:44you can just come straight into this room.
20:46What about a little bar fridge?
20:48Yeah.
20:49Hey, are you only doing one space?
20:51No.
20:52Office upstairs.
20:53And that's a bedroom.
20:54We changed it to a bedroom.
20:55House 5's second room, unlike all the other rooms this week,
20:58is on a second level upstairs.
21:01Christian and Mimi have decided to turn their office
21:03into an extra bedroom,
21:05adding in a double bed, modest wardrobe, reading chair
21:09and a coastal-inspired artwork.
21:12So how many bedrooms does that make this place?
21:14Five.
21:15Yeah, that's attractive too, isn't it?
21:16Yeah.
21:17On Phillip Island, a five-bedroom house
21:19sells for, on average, $160,000 more than a four-bedroom home.
21:24So by the sounds of our planning,
21:26it looks like we've done the right thing.
21:28Are your budgets all right?
21:30You're going good.
21:31Yeah.
21:32It's amazing.
21:33I know.
21:34I think this week's going to put a bit of a dent in it, though.
21:37We had to plaster the whole hallway and two rooms and, yeah.
21:41But it looks good.
21:42Yes, it is.
21:43When we walked around yesterday, you know, obviously dire straits.
21:46But the plaster's in now.
21:47All you've got to do is paint it.
21:48Yeah.
21:49It's great.
21:50You're almost there.
21:511.2-metre hallway.
21:52I love it.
21:53Yeah.
21:54Good luck, guys.
21:55I love the manifestation.
21:56What do you think your chances are this week?
21:58There's still so much to do.
22:00So still semi-defeated, but we'll try and be a bit more positive today.
22:05I think if we can get the rooms done and painted and styled,
22:08you know, exactly how we want them to be,
22:10then could be in for a chance.
22:18Which contestants do you think are creating a winning room this week?
22:21To cast your vote, all you have to do is head to the Block website now.
22:25And while you're there,
22:26don't forget to check out all of our amazing room galleries.
22:38Less than a month to go here at the Block Phillip Island,
22:41there's still plenty of work to be done
22:43to finish off our uniquely designed family holiday home.
22:48But down the back in House 3,
22:50Rikki and Hayden are still yet to clock on for work
22:53after a late night of celebrations.
22:56Well, hopefully they're up, Shell.
22:58Don't hold a lot of hope, Scotty.
23:03Really, are we just at this stage, are we?
23:05Morning.
23:06Good morning.
23:07It's walk-arounds and it's 20 to 10 and you're getting mic'd up.
23:11Sorry, guys.
23:12Soundo's just a little bit slow this morning.
23:14Oh, they'll be slow this morning, are they?
23:16The crew was slow this morning, were they?
23:18I saw some photos of you two.
23:24You'll put in on a show, there's no doubt about it,
23:26with the Brazilian dancers and the DJ, the bar crusher.
23:29It's just being ourselves, mate.
23:31Just another day.
23:32Yeah, that's just a standard weekend for me.
23:34You guys call that Friday?
23:38It felt like it.
23:39You are the challenge masters, there's no doubt about it.
23:42We've just got to finish rooms on time.
23:44Yes.
23:45Yeah, of course.
23:46I think you've just got to not sleep until 9.30
23:49and help your poor fellas out up there.
23:51If you want to get it finished,
23:52you're actually going to have to do something.
23:54And also, a big celebration last night, 50 grand.
23:56Yes.
23:57But then if you're going to have another room that's not finished,
23:59you really don't want to be that team, do you?
24:01No, not at all.
24:02So pull your fingers out, get up there and show us what you're doing.
24:05All right, done.
24:07House 3's upstairs level features an office and rumpus areas
24:11along with a bedroom and a bathroom.
24:13The office area offers in the bin.
24:16Ricky and Hayden have decided to turn their office area
24:19into a fully-fledged games room,
24:21featuring a pool table, arcade game and mini-park.
24:25And out the back of the rumpus,
24:27they'll feature the famous Phillip Island racetrack
24:30via some Grafico wall art,
24:32along with a wall-mounted large-screen TV,
24:34beechwood coffee table and a couple of comfy couches.
24:40Obviously this space is...
24:42This is going to be our games room.
24:44OK.
24:45So pool table here, little pool table.
24:47Little pool table.
24:48Little pool table with one of those flipper ones.
24:50Yep, correct.
24:51What's it called?
24:52Air hockey.
24:53Ah, OK.
24:54We thought about a dartboard up here,
24:56but don't know about throwing darts.
24:59But it does lead to the fact that it's also an island.
25:02You are going to cop some inclement weather now and then,
25:05so you need indoor activities.
25:07I think Scotty was more pumped up the fact
25:09that we're going to have a pool table up there
25:11and a few arcade games and a cocktail bar
25:13that he can come and spend some time with us.
25:15Yeah, beauty.
25:16And then rumpus.
25:17Rumpus there, and it's going to have a nice LG TV on the wall.
25:20Sofa bed, so you can sleep someone in there.
25:22But it's going to have a nice sheer that closes it off
25:24and turns it into a fifth bedroom that comes across.
25:27Oh, OK.
25:28OK, well, it's a good space.
25:29Good space.
25:30You know what would be good in the other room?
25:32I don't know if there's room in there.
25:34It's a bit small, like creating a bunk room.
25:36Yep.
25:37And the kids are all up here.
25:38Yeah, holiday houses have bunk rooms,
25:40where you can sleep eight kids.
25:42Yeah, that's cool.
25:43That's a good idea.
25:44It makes sense having the bunks next to the games room.
25:47So, yeah, we might have to change our plan a little bit.
25:51I think, you know, the more beds the better
25:53when it comes to a holiday home.
25:55So, yeah, we might have to reconsider that.
25:57Definitely something to think about.
25:58Good on you, boys.
25:59Well done.
26:00Yeah, there is.
26:01All right.
26:02Congratulations.
26:03Do some work, would you please?
26:04Yes.
26:05We will.
26:07What are you talking about?
26:08You're taking them to lunch.
26:09Oh.
26:10Forget that.
26:11I'll see you at lunch.
26:12Yeah.
26:13That's hilarious.
26:16You know what they say,
26:17winners are grinners and losers can please themselves.
26:20And over in House 1, Maddie and Charlotte
26:23are still coming to terms with their heavy loss
26:26in last night's Domain Challenge.
26:28All these people said they loved the house
26:30and that they would vote for it,
26:32and then we get eight flippin' percent.
26:35All a bit confusing.
26:37I'm like, uh, sorry, what?
26:392.3 and then it's 900 out.
26:42Yeah, 900.
26:43Hey, girls.
26:44Hello.
26:45How's it going?
26:46That's pretty.
26:47Oh, thank you, yeah.
26:48Fixed me up.
26:49Yeah, no, you look gorgeous.
26:50You know what I saw this morning, Cheryl?
26:51What?
26:52What did you see?
26:53I saw my good mate here, Charlotte,
26:55carrying sheets of ply off the ute, 22 years old,
26:58big sheet of ply, right into the...
27:01from the ute into the site.
27:03But watch, here it is right now.
27:06Woo!
27:11There you go.
27:12Look at you carrying that sheet of ply.
27:13Magnificent.
27:14That's great, isn't it?
27:15Very good.
27:16You need to teach those boys a thing or two
27:18down the end there.
27:20You must have just missed me carrying them.
27:22Yeah.
27:27I wasn't sleeping, I was planning.
27:29That's what it does.
27:30It is.
27:31Shall we tell you our plans?
27:32Your plans do.
27:33Is this a work from home space?
27:34Not really.
27:35We just didn't think that it was super valuable
27:38for a holiday house to have an office space of this size.
27:41Yes.
27:42We were like, I think we could use this for something,
27:44like, that adds a little bit more value to the property.
27:46So we've actually turned this into, like,
27:48our kids' TV rumpus kind of room.
27:51House One's rumpus area will feature a TV unit
27:54atop a scalloped feature wall above timber cabinetry.
27:57A desk will provide a small work from home area
28:00and a four-seated couch will sit up against the balustrade.
28:03And we've actually turned that space into a guest retreat.
28:06I want to see what you're talking about.
28:08In addition to their rumpus room,
28:10the girls have a plan to stand out from the pack
28:12by converting the bulk of the upstairs mezzanine
28:15into a guest retreat,
28:17which will feature a guest bedroom, en suite
28:20and another living space,
28:22which will also be presented this week.
28:24A potentially auction-winning spiral staircase
28:27will provide external access to the entire self-contained space,
28:32which can also be closed off to the rest of the main house.
28:35The second living area will feature a James Hardy feature wall
28:38and twin armchairs overlooking a TV unit.
28:42And a glass doorway will lead to the spiral staircase.
28:45But you're not presenting this this week, obviously.
28:47No. We're presenting half the room
28:49so that it's, like, consistent with the other...
28:51So that space... Yeah.
28:53It'll be a bit random for the judges.
28:54And the stairs won't be in?
28:55No, no, that'll come as, like, backyard landscaping.
28:57OK.
28:58I think it's a great idea and it sets you apart.
29:00Yeah.
29:01We're super, obviously, like, into adding value for the buyer.
29:05And so we want to, on auction day,
29:08have a reason that a buyer would go,
29:10oh, like, their house is different.
29:12And not just aesthetically, because aesthetics can be changed.
29:15This stuff kind of, like, is structural stuff that does set you apart.
29:19How did you feel about last night?
29:21It's obviously disappointing,
29:23but at the same time, we're, like...
29:25What are we going to do?
29:27Like, we can't do anything about it,
29:29so we're just going to keep going and...
29:31That's right.
29:32...try the process.
29:33Auction is very different to the buyer's journey.
29:35The domain challenge results.
29:36What's that all about? Talk us through this.
29:38I was winning the night in terms of sleep,
29:40but I was losing the competition.
29:42It is what it is. It is what it is.
29:44It's not auction, so it's fine.
29:48Coming up...
29:49Failure fears lead to Courtney's tears.
29:52Is anyone going to buy a house,
29:54or is it all going to be...
29:56..replanned? I don't know.
29:59You've got it, what you need.
30:01The boys get some advice from Domain's Alice Stultz over lunch.
30:04Cheers. Oh, nice.
30:06She came up with some great ideas for us to spend our cash on.
30:10What about some water toys, like stand-up paddleboard?
30:12Windsurfers, surfboard, e-bikes, scooters.
30:16We're just thinking, we didn't want to win 150K, Alice.
30:19Maybe just carry the farm a little bit.
30:23And Christian ebbs ever closer to breaking point.
30:26It's just impossible. We're not going to finish this week again.
30:28I just feel like we're just falling further and further behind.
30:31Ah, tough week.
30:33Yeah. Tough week.
30:48As we fast approach the business end of the season,
30:51many of our blockheads are starting to feel the pinch of the long hours.
30:56Yeah.
31:00And the many highs and lows of block-block.
31:03So it's not surprising that the results of last night's Domain Challenge
31:07has hit some harder than others.
31:09Do you feel like you guys are getting better at this block thing?
31:13I feel like our results are getting worse.
31:18I don't quite know
31:23Hard to say
31:27How I feel
31:30The competition, yes, you're renovating a home,
31:34but the biggest thing is, like, mentally, you're drained.
31:39Hey, Google.
31:41Oh, mum.
31:43You don't feel like your usual self. You really don't.
31:46And that's, like, the hardest part of it.
31:48And you go into it, you have no idea it's going to be like that.
31:52We had the Domain Challenge last night.
31:54Was it close, the results?
31:57We came second last.
31:59OK. OK. That's why you sound flat, I think.
32:03It kind of makes me feel stupid, like, I can't do my job.
32:06I'm in design, and...
32:09No, I don't feel that way.
32:12I don't feel that way. You're good at what you do.
32:15I just feel like we're not getting that much recognition,
32:17and now I'm doubting myself.
32:19Like, I don't know, is anyone going to buy a house,
32:22or is it all going to be...
32:24I don't know.
32:33Yeah, it's true.
32:36It's hard. It's hard to, you know...
32:39We're living in a bubble, almost,
32:41and it feels like it becomes your world.
32:43There's more to life outside the block.
32:45This is an amazing opportunity.
32:47I'll always be grateful for the opportunity.
32:49But at the end of the day, the most important thing
32:51is you go back healthy and happy.
32:53Yeah.
33:01And how were you feeling on Friday, Brad?
33:04Yeah, I was feeling like a smashed abbo.
33:07Yes.
33:09Have a good trip, mate. Thanks, mate.
33:12Cocktails!
33:14Not a chance. No!
33:17I've got a lot of driving to do,
33:19because I've got to go to Dandenong South
33:21to the Freedom Warehouse to pick up my TV cabinet.
33:24So I thought he may as well come with me,
33:26because he's not going to be any good to Benny,
33:28and he would just get yelled at all day.
33:30So instead, we can share the drive.
33:32Yeah, share the drive.
33:34Share the drive.
33:37And what did he do?
33:39Slept all day in the car.
33:47Woke up and had a bit of cold mackers.
33:49Yeah, woke up and did have very cold mackers.
33:54How was the trip, Carly?
33:56The trip was lovely. Very peaceful.
33:59Lots of scintillating conversations from your husband?
34:01Yeah, I didn't get any conversation from him at all.
34:04I think that sat in the car for about an hour and a half
34:07before you actually ate it.
34:09Lucky it doesn't ever go off.
34:12Benny?
34:14Is it cold?
34:16You don't care?
34:18He's lost the ability to speak.
34:23How's your day going, babe?
34:26DOOR SLAMS
34:33Over in house two, Courtney and Grant,
34:35who have been feeling a little despondent
34:37after last night's challenge,
34:39are about to get a little surprise
34:41from the block's fairy godmother.
34:43Oh, look at him, busy, busy, working away.
34:45Hello. Hello.
34:47How are you? Great. How are you? I'm good.
34:49Are you feeling better? Yeah.
34:51Cos you were the most exhausted block contestant I've ever seen.
34:54Yes. Grant physically looked so exhausted.
34:57I was, I was. That's a bloody good effort, mate.
34:59Well done. Thank you, mate. Cheers.
35:01Still managed to turn it on. It was worth it.
35:03You won the hallway. Yeah. It was a good night, though.
35:05Gee, we have some good times on this show, don't we?
35:07We do. Good times.
35:09Remember that beautiful little birthday party with three?
35:11That was a good time. Holy one.
35:13Happy birthday, big fella.
35:15There you go.
35:17Went to Grumpy's Putt-Putt in Cowes.
35:19Yeah, it was actually really fitting.
35:21Was it?
35:23I just want to say that this joint
35:25used to be called Happy's,
35:27but I renamed it Grumpy's
35:29after the birth...
35:31LAUGHTER
35:33Grumpy's. Yeah, Grumpy's.
35:35That's where the nickname came from.
35:37So we do have a little memento.
35:39Happy birthday. Should we put it in the study, Jess?
35:41Ah! I think you should crack it open
35:43and see where you'd like to put it.
35:45Let's have a look, Courtney. Can you hold that?
35:47It's actually a really good photo, this one.
35:49It's a great shot. Courtney, can we take this home?
35:51LAUGHTER
35:53I want to put this in our living room at home.
35:55I don't want to sell this with the house.
35:57It's a good photo. I think we're going to hang it in the house.
35:59I want to take that home.
36:01I actually want to hang it in our house.
36:03Yeah, we'll take that home.
36:05Well, let's get this room done. What's your plan?
36:07This is our, yeah, rumpus room.
36:09It's a chill zone. It's a bit of a breakout space.
36:11House 2's rumpus area
36:13is located at the rear of their second-level
36:15mezzanine floor.
36:17Courtney and Grant's rumpus area
36:19is a green corduroy chaise lounge,
36:21a white stone coffee table
36:23in front of an 83-inch LG TV
36:25and a porter timber feature wall.
36:27So that's a work-from-home space.
36:29That's a work-from-home space.
36:31That one we're excited about.
36:33We managed to build that curve in from the kitchen
36:35and then we've tied it
36:37into the door entrance just over there.
36:39House 2's office space sits in front
36:41of their mezzanine level,
36:43overlooking the lower entertaining area beneath.
36:45And in addition to their
36:47curved near-wall balustrade,
36:49House 2's work-from-home space
36:51will feature a curved timber work desk,
36:53two recessed spaces for storage
36:55and twin armchairs.
36:57Are you OK?
36:59Yeah, I'm alright. I'm just feeling **** today.
37:01OK, alrighty.
37:03Four weeks to go.
37:05Yeah, I get that.
37:07Oh, you're sore too. Are you OK?
37:09Yep.
37:11Are you alright?
37:13I knew you weren't having the best day, but I didn't know it was that bad.
37:15I guess you can tell by your little voice.
37:17You don't have a pep in your step
37:19when we have these Scotty and Shelley walk-arounds.
37:21I'm just so disappointed about last night too.
37:23We came second last.
37:25I just don't know if we're doing the right thing anymore.
37:27No, you are. You've got really great style.
37:31Jenny and Adrian loved
37:33your master bedroom.
37:35We don't ever bank on a win, but we also didn't
37:37think we'd be second last.
37:39Please.
37:41Your house is beautiful.
37:43We think you're doing a great job.
37:47You're doing a beautiful job.
37:49We love Scotty and Shelley.
37:51I think sometimes you just need that support.
37:53You just never know if you're doing the right thing.
37:55It's nice
37:57to hear their thoughts too.
38:09The block is renowned for its brutally fast pace
38:11and unrelenting pressure.
38:15But there's one little place on site
38:17where you can always go to find
38:19a caffeinated energy boost,
38:21a kind word and a friendly ear.
38:25So how's your head right now?
38:27Yeah, good.
38:29My landscaper sent me an email this morning
38:31saying that he quit, so
38:33I've got to find a new landscaper this morning.
38:35What happened?
38:37No landscaper quit.
38:39The hottie, surf dude.
38:41I believe Tina is referring to
38:43this guy. Who is the off-sider
38:45to this guy? Local
38:47landscaper Sean, but unfortunately
38:49He quit Anzac Day.
38:51Okay. New guy quit
38:53this morning. The new guy Riggi is now referring
38:55to is this guy, who goes
38:57by the name of Joel Dirk.
38:59The latest landscaper the boys thought they had
39:01locked in last week.
39:03What are you doing to them, Jesus? No, because the first one was about
39:05the house two not paying bills.
39:07Yep, that's right Tina,
39:09because this all went down just a couple
39:11of weeks ago. We know that there's
39:13outstanding invoices.
39:15Sean, he said that the word is going around
39:17that the island, that the block
39:19isn't paying their trades. The outstanding
39:21bills were from house two,
39:23who at the time had two unpaid bills
39:25due with local business, Betsy's Glass.
39:27My landscapers have rolled
39:29up today and they're like, the word around
39:31the island is that trades aren't
39:33getting paid here. Let's not make this a big deal
39:35because there's no word on the street.
39:37We pay all of our builders.
39:39The word spreads quick on the island. Those guys
39:41haven't paid Betsy's, and then
39:43those guys know that there's people on the block
39:45not paying bills.
39:47Even though Courtney and Grant have since paid their
39:49overdue bills, it seems
39:51the damage has already been done.
39:53This new guy's done some research
39:55and then gone, f**k yeah, f**k this.
39:57I've heard a few horror stories,
39:59I'm not going to lie. It's not on you guys.
40:01Did the horror stories
40:03in the past or horror stories from this year alone?
40:05Yeah, I know a couple of guys that have bailed on
40:07this year and they're just a little bit sceptical.
40:09I personally believe that
40:11we're facing a similar situation,
40:13that we're once again victim of this
40:15non-paying the bills scenario.
40:17Well, you just tell these landscapers,
40:19I just got 50k,
40:21let's go. Yeah, you.
40:23He called up this morning, he's like, I heard you won,
40:25well done, but I'm out.
40:27Sucks to be you.
40:29Landscapers, their jobs are six,
40:31eight weeks, ten, twelve weeks at a time.
40:33The odds of us finding a landscaper
40:35with a week's notice is
40:37it's not possible.
40:39So, oh man,
40:41at this stage, I'm half
40:43tempted to pick the bloody bar up myself.
40:45We could be the new gym.
40:47R&H entities.
40:49R&H mowing.
40:51Anyways,
40:53have a good day ladies, thank you. Bye.
40:55You feel a bit sick?
40:59Yeah. Do you?
41:01I need water.
41:03Hello. Scotty.
41:05The last little pack up happening.
41:07The last of all the packing up.
41:09I heard a rumour that you're a bit fragile,
41:11Brad. Oh, it's not too bad, Scotty.
41:13It was worth celebrating,
41:15wasn't it? Yeah, it was a good night.
41:17What was the feedback that you were getting last night?
41:19The general feedback was everyone loved it.
41:21I'm assuming the ones that maybe
41:23were polarised by it maybe didn't comment.
41:25Okay, obviously winning this
41:27space, all put
41:29together, looks magnificent. You've got one
41:31space left to go really, which is upstairs.
41:33A couple of rooms. Yeah, who's to
41:35say that that's not a winner up there as well?
41:37House 4's office sits
41:39up front on their mezzanine level.
41:41Kylie and Brad's mezzanine office
41:43will feature a decked on stone clad
41:45desk, black storage cabinet
41:47and leather couch overlooking the
41:49living and dining area. Black curtains
41:51will provide privacy and
41:53sound insulation from the downstairs
41:55area. House 4's
41:57rumpus space resides at the rear
41:59of their second level mezzanine floor.
42:01The rumpus space will feature a sofa bed,
42:03armchair and stone
42:05coffee table in front of the TV.
42:07What did you decide to
42:09do with the balustrade? Because I know you were considering glass.
42:11We're doing glass. You're doing glass? Yeah, I saw the glass
42:13walking in. Yeah, we are doing glass.
42:15But another thing we're actually doing is we're doing
42:17dark shears all the way across.
42:19So if there is a separate living family
42:21up there, they can actually be
42:23closed off and have a little bit of privacy.
42:25So it'll be completely open when you want it to,
42:27but then if you want the privacy without closing it in.
42:29I think that's a good idea. At least that curtain can
42:31give you some privacy and can dull
42:33the noise a little bit. Because that's my only issue
42:35with the glass. It's such a big void
42:37that it would bounce around a little bit.
42:39Yeah, for sure. I still don't think they're
42:41the massive fan of the glass balustrade.
42:43They're just worried about the noise.
42:45But the other options that we
42:47had for balustrading just doesn't really fit in
42:49with what we're trying to do.
42:51It doesn't really match the aesthetics.
42:53Yeah, so it sort of makes sense for us to go
42:55with the glass. Well,
42:57go and have a little rest. Not too much.
42:59Go and have a lie down, sugar.
43:01Yeah. Oh, well, good luck
43:03on Sunday. Thank you. Well, Mark, see you later.
43:05See you soon. Thank you. See you soon.
43:07Back up the front in house five,
43:09Christian is very keen to get
43:11Dan's sewing off on his upstairs
43:13insulation so he can get
43:15them all rolling on his bedroom.
43:17Always
43:19looking good, mate. Stay well.
43:21Getting there. Coming along? Coming together.
43:23Okay, good.
43:25Well, we're not too far away from in here.
43:27Yeah.
43:29Getting close. Yeah. A few more bags
43:31and we'll be alright. Yeah, nice.
43:33Plaster both today, upstairs, downstairs?
43:35Finish?
43:37No English.
43:39That's okay.
43:41So pretty much the plastering team
43:43was downstairs in our pool room
43:45and there was talks
43:47whether to get them out and upstairs
43:49to try and start plastering that room
43:51so that they could then come back
43:53and then stop up both rooms
43:55tomorrow. But I just feel like they're just
43:57falling further and further behind.
43:59So with no help coming from his wife, Mimi,
44:01who's back in bed,
44:03Christian,
44:05who's now facing the very real
44:07possibility of not finishing again
44:09this week, gets on the blower to
44:11a good mate Grumpy from house two
44:13to try a new plan of attack.
44:15How are your plasters going?
44:17Yeah, good, bro. They're just doing our
44:19shelves and our easy gem and then they should
44:21be done. Because we're
44:23probably not going to present a room if we don't get
44:25upstairs plastered.
44:29I know. So just let me know
44:31if they'll be keen to
44:33shoot upstairs. I've got
44:35the crew down here.
44:37I don't know whether it's just going to be
44:39too hard for them to finish off, but
44:41yeah, it's just...
44:43OK, mate, let me know.
44:45Thanks, mate. OK.
44:47Following reinforcements, mate?
44:49Oh, it's going to have to be done,
44:51otherwise we're just not going to finish.
44:53We've been set a virtually impossible task this week.
44:55It's just... Which space is your problem?
44:57Just upstairs. We've been plodding
44:59along trying to get it done, but it's just
45:01not happening quick enough. So even if
45:03they can just come and hang the sheets for a couple of hours
45:05and then the guys here can just stop
45:07it up, then at least get a bit of a
45:09head start to a
45:11still almost impossible couple
45:13nights.
45:21What a diner.
45:23What a diner.
45:25It's always great getting off the block
45:27and going out for lunch.
45:38Especially when you're going with guests
45:40like Shelly and Alice.
45:42Oh, gentlemen. How are we?
45:44Where are the tuxes? No tuxes.
45:46Listening to
45:48their advice and feedback and ideas.
45:50I was so impressed
45:52with your property last night
45:54and also your listing. It was so personalised.
45:56Do you know what I mean? I was really impressed
45:58by that, because I think listings can
46:00feel very generic. Yes. And that you
46:02pulled out everything. You mentioned the boat, the
46:04basketball, offering something very unique
46:06to the other houses. And I also love the pic of
46:08you guys in it. You made it feel like
46:10it was your home and that's what's special about it.
46:12It's hard to sort of stop
46:14for any moment of reflection in the block.
46:16You barely get a moment to think about anything.
46:18So it's wild to think
46:20that now we're writing our own
46:22real estate listing for a house
46:24that we are building ourselves.
46:26I can't believe that this is where we're at right now.
46:28Have a look at this.
46:30That is a salad. Wow. Thank you so much.
46:32Yum.
46:3450K in the bag. Thank you very much.
46:36That was well needed.
46:38What sort of things have you thought
46:40you might like to add, now that you've got
46:42the budget for it? We're going to spend a lot of money
46:44on plants, regardless of whether
46:46we run the 50 or not. I think what would be
46:48nice is if we can buy some nice established
46:50trees or something. Like a date palm tree,
46:52like an established, you know like what's
46:54in front of House 5. Yeah.
46:56That idea of sort of
46:58extending that feeling of Phillip Island
47:00to where you guys are
47:02and how beautiful it can look.
47:04I didn't know that Alice was such an ideas
47:06person. She came up with some great
47:08ideas for us to
47:10spend our cash on. What about some water toys
47:12like stand up paddle board, windsurfers,
47:14surfboard, etc.
47:16E-bikes, scooters. Yeah.
47:18And then I thought around this sort of idea of
47:20making this incredible entertaining space
47:22outside. It can really just set a
47:24tone. Bar, keg or a
47:26beer tap on it. Like it's an all round
47:28entertaining space all year round. You can get
47:30these terrace TVs, like outdoor TVs.
47:32Yeah. We're just thinking
47:34we didn't want to win $150,000.
47:36Maybe just calm your farm a little bit.
47:38What you're doing
47:40so well at the moment is this lifestyle
47:42thing and I think your listing really
47:44reflected that. You're creating an escape
47:46for people. You're not trying to be like come
47:48down here and do serious work and wear a suit and tie
47:50all day. You're like come down here, unfurl,
47:52unwind. Yeah. I think what we did learn
47:54is that we have to win some more money so we
47:56can really send it. So we've got to
47:58come up with some sort
48:00of idea on how to best
48:02spend our money and then also try
48:04and win rumpus this way and go hard.
48:14What are you doing, Dan?
48:16There's no one
48:18on site. The boys are at the Domain lunch.
48:20All the other guys
48:22have gone shopping. So I'm just going to take
48:24five, ten minutes. Got some snacks.
48:26Let's see what
48:28Disney Plus have got. Great,
48:30the Kardashians. My favourite.
48:32Must be
48:34half hour.
48:48After a sluggish
48:50start this morning, the block looks
48:52to finally be back in full swing
48:54this afternoon.
49:00And after a lovely long lunch at the Phillip Island
49:02Winery, it's time for the boys from
49:04House 3 to finally get back to
49:06reality. Room
49:08progress. How is everything looking?
49:10Are you on track? So
49:12obviously it's not like we can spend a week celebrating
49:14this challenge win. It's just on to the next room.
49:16We're looking alright though.
49:18The plasters are smashing it out
49:20and we're hoping to be painting
49:22tomorrow.
49:24Yeah, plaster will be
49:26finished by the end of today.
49:28Our plastering is definitely going to be the hero.
49:32Feature wall is being
49:34installed. Gyprock has been
49:36completed. We've
49:38got a decent amount of stuff done
49:40and then there's still a decent amount of work left.
49:44Our room is not
49:46going great.
49:48There's still a lot to do.
49:52There's still a lot to do.
49:56There's just too much to do.
50:02Is everyone just exhausted?
50:04I think it's been
50:06an exhausting week for everyone on the block this week.
50:08With the just sheer
50:10size of those rumpus
50:12office areas in each home
50:14and the sheer size of the week,
50:16I reckon that
50:18there's a few sore heads just
50:20waving away to try and get their rooms done.
50:22I'm feeling very tired.
50:24It's just really hard.
50:26It started off really good
50:28and then obviously you're going to get fatigued.
50:30You're going to start having
50:32arguments. You don't have your space.
50:34You don't have time to heal.
50:36It's weird. I don't necessarily feel like myself.
50:38It's stressful
50:40and you're not doing normal everyday
50:42tasks and the tasks that
50:44you're doing are so straining
50:46and fatiguing and all
50:48you want to do is lay down with your kids and just give them a cuddle.
50:50Sometimes you need a hug.
50:52Sometimes you do need a hug or just to know
50:54you're not alone.
50:56Everyone's just really feeling it. It's coming to the end.
50:58What, three more weeks?
51:00It's going to be a push.
51:02It's really going to be a push.
51:04But sometimes on the block
51:06even a good hard push
51:08won't get you to where you want to be
51:10as Christian is about to find out.
51:14I spoke to Sam.
51:16Can't they multiply in there
51:18and get a few more going?
51:20It's just impossible.
51:22We're not going to finish this week again.
51:24Look how popular your house was last week.
51:26Oh no.
51:28That's what you've got to remember.
51:30What's the plan of attack, Christian?
51:32You're just looking at this realistically and assessing
51:34what you think you're going to be able to finish.
51:36In the time frame that Plaster takes to dry
51:38and the amount of work that was left
51:40I sort of
51:42went to Form and Dan
51:44just for some advice.
51:48Because there's just not enough time
51:50to finish two rooms and two hallways
51:52and a stairwell.
51:56What's up, bud?
51:58Oh, Dan, I'm thinking about
52:00pulling the pin on this week.
52:02Not giving up totally
52:04but just maybe concentrating
52:06to present one room 100%.
52:08And then just maybe try and cancel
52:10the carpet, the paint,
52:12the grafico for the upstairs room
52:14because I just don't think we're going to
52:16get it done to
52:18a high quality
52:20and it's just going to be too hard.
52:22Just way too hard.
52:24So you want to keep the reveal
52:26downstairs and not reveal
52:28upstairs? Yeah. It's hard to
52:30pull the pin on it, especially because
52:32we've gone to judging and we want to be
52:34a chance for that 10 grand
52:36but just at this stage
52:38we haven't even got Plaster
52:40hung upstairs yet. They haven't even started
52:42top up.
52:44Concentrate downstairs, get that done.
52:46Yep. Because you want quality.
52:48Yeah, exactly. At least if you've got downstairs
52:50percentage. It's up to you guys. I mean, you've been put through the ringer
52:52this week. You've got
52:54the longest, you've got the most amount of hallways.
52:56You had the two. Yep.
52:58So I understand.
53:02After, you know, having a chat to him, I thought it was a good
53:04idea to just completely pull the pin
53:06on the office because
53:08it was just becoming too hard, so
53:10and just, it just
53:12didn't seem like there'd be any possibility
53:14that we could finish both rooms in time.
53:16So this week we'll only be presenting one room.
53:22Tough week. Yeah.
53:24Tough week.
53:32F*** sakes.
53:34Come on, bud.
53:36Look, the block
53:38is a marathon. It's 12,
53:4013 weeks of non-stop
53:42hard work.
53:48And right now, we're in
53:50that three quarters of the way through
53:52where you're so emotionally
53:54tired, sleep deprived,
53:56but you've just got to somehow try and get your second
53:58wind. It hasn't come yet for house five.
54:00Maybe when they get
54:02over this hurdle this week, it might come and give them
54:04that last lift. Hopefully it does, but
54:06right now, they're in the trenches.
54:08They've got to try and find their way out of it.
54:10Unfortunately, it's part of the block. Everyone
54:12goes through that process, that roller coaster
54:14ride. They're probably the deepest
54:16at the moment, unfortunately.
54:18But all it can take is a win.
54:20Whether that be a room win
54:22or a challenge win. And then you get your lift
54:24again. Look at house three.
54:26Look at the boys. They were down the dumps
54:28at the start of this week. Nearly wanted
54:30to go. And now they're flying high.
54:32They're loving life.
54:34That's all it takes, so
54:36hopefully something good comes house five's away
54:38pretty soon.
54:42At the end of the day, the decision
54:44to pull the pin upstairs came
54:46down to the timing.
54:48If we had won, for example,
54:50the living dining room, or we'd won
54:52the room the week before and we
54:54had some sort of success
54:56recently, the downs
54:58wouldn't feel so deep.
55:00It just feels
55:02like the downs are just going down, down,
55:04down.
55:06Mimi's
55:08not going to finish painting this hallway by herself
55:10tonight. But I can try.
55:12Nah, I don't agree with that plan.
55:14See, you always
55:16be unreasonable.
55:18You're unreasonable.
55:24Join us Sunday night as our blockheads
55:26push to deliver this week's rooms.
55:28Some knock
55:30it out of the park. Cute as
55:32fuck. This is what you call
55:34a leg if you're right. And others leave the
55:36judges less than impressed.
55:40This is
55:42functionally useless.
55:44Ten out of ten
55:46for creating the most uncomfortable room
55:48we've seen this season. Ouch.
55:50That's bad.
55:56you
