Yusoff Rawther charged with possessing two fake firearms

Muhammed Yusoff Rawther, 31, was charged in the Kuala Lumpur Magistrate's Court on Wednesday (Oct 9) with possessing two fake guns.

The former research assistant to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim pleaded not guilty after the charge was read before Magistrate S. Mageswary.

00:31prison sentence of one year or a fine not exceeding 5,000 ringgit or both if convicted.
00:38During proceedings, Deputy Public Prosecutor Mohamed Sabri Othman suggested setting Mohamed
00:44Yusof's bail at 20,000 ringgit with a local surety.
00:47Lawyer Nurmustanir Madnor, who represented the accused, did not appeal as Mohamed Yusof
00:53was still being held in custody for a drug trafficking charge.
01:04After hearing the application from both parties, Magiswari didn't allow any bail and fixed
01:11November 12 for re-mention of the case.
01:14On September 12, Mohamed Yusof was charged with trafficking 305 grams of cannabis in
01:21front of the car park of the Kuala Lumpur Police Contingent Headquarters, Surau, on
01:26September 6.
01:28No plea was recorded from the accused, as the case was under the jurisdiction of the
01:32High Court.
