00:00Morning.

00:04It's going to be another day of dodging the downpours.
00:08The weather chopping and changing pretty regularly.
00:10Heavy showers sweeping up from the southwest.
00:13You can see the circulation here in the winds.
00:15That's an area of low pressure.
00:17A band of showery rain crossing through northern England
00:19into Northern Ireland, spreading up
00:21across southern Scotland, making for a pretty dull and damp
00:23afternoon through the central belt.
00:25In northern Scotland, maybe not quite as wet as yesterday,
00:28but we've got the northerly winds really setting in here,
00:31a sign of things to come.
00:32Whereas in the south, the winds coming up from the south,
00:35quite gusty, especially close to these showers,
00:37which will be heavy at times.
00:39Hail and thunder mixed in as well.
00:41A lot of spray and surface water on the roads
00:43as these showers chug in around that area of low pressure.
00:46But with the southerly winds, it is quite mild,
00:48quite warm air, temperatures with a bit of sunshine
00:51between the downpours, 18, maybe 19 Celsius.
00:54Whereas with the northerly winds,
00:55we're looking at 11 or 12 at the very best
00:58across northern Scotland.
01:00Now, as we go through this evening,
01:02the showers, if anything, becoming more widespread
01:04over south Wales, the Midlands, southern England,
01:06up towards east Anglia.
01:08So again, some very heavy downpours around.
01:10Not a great evening rush hour at all.
01:12The rain further north, maybe not as heavy,
01:14but sticking across parts of eastern Scotland.
01:17And with that wind coming in, we'll
01:19feel very pleasant this time tomorrow morning.
01:21Temperatures, though, generally holding up in double digits,
01:24certainly across the south, mostly 11 or 12 Celsius
01:28in towns and cities.
01:29But the colder air is coming.
01:32There's more showers coming tomorrow as well,
01:34staying pretty dull and damp across southeast Scotland,
01:36northeast England.
01:38Thick cloud here.
01:39The wind's coming in from the North Sea,
01:40so not feeling very pleasant at all.
01:43Sunnier spells further south, but again,
01:45plenty of showers developing during tomorrow afternoon.
01:47Again, a few heavy ones, but probably a drier day
01:50for south Wales, southern counties of England.
01:53A bit more in the way of sunshine, and a drier day
01:55too for central and western parts of Scotland
01:58with a bit more sunshine.
01:59But that northerly wind's becoming more of a feature,
02:03so temperatures really struggling here, 9, 10 degrees
02:06and feeling colder with the wind.
02:08Further south, again, with some brightness between the sunshine.
02:11Tomorrow, we could see temperatures
02:12into the high teens, but it's going to turn cooler
02:14for Thursday.
02:15The rain coming in here across these eastern areas,
02:18you can still see the swirl.
02:19That's an area of low pressure just heading slowly,
02:22but surely out into the North Sea at this stage
02:25later tomorrow.
02:26Further south, this is ex-hurricane Kirk,
02:30now named Storm Kirk by the French Weather Service
02:33because it's going to bring them some very
02:34wet and windy weather, along with northern Spain
02:37and Portugal during Wednesday as that system moves then
02:41across the Bay of Biscay.
02:42If anything, it's really these central southern parts
02:45of France that'll bear the brunt,
02:47but also the north coast of Spain too.
02:49Very gusty winds.
02:50Look at those ice bars really pinching together there.
02:52Potential for some damaging gusts of wind
02:54across parts of France before that storm system
02:56then heads north.
02:58Looks like it's going to stay to the south of the UK,
03:00but certainly one to watch, taking
03:01some very wet and windy weather up across Germany.
03:04But for us, the key thing, it will introduce colder air
03:08from the north.
