00:00So here we are at Pitch Black Gunnarsson Park where Newcastle United have ended their final
00:06visit here with a 0-0 draw. Frustration is the word I would use for that one. Newcastle
00:13United had lots of chances to win that. They were in control of that game for large parts
00:21but didn't have that killer instinct in the final third and that probably comes down to
00:27the fact that they didn't have a senior striker on the pitch today. Anthony Gordon leading
00:33the line and for as good as I thought he played today, the key moments were missing that penalty
00:39and then there was a moment in the second half when he went for a goal and skied the
00:43ball over the crossbar. Newcastle should have won today and I think there will be a lot
00:51of people frustrated that they didn't get a result here but I'm going to be positive
00:55about the performance because I've been critical of Newcastle this season in games where they've
00:59actually won. They didn't get that winner today but I actually thought in the main the
01:04performance was good. The most controlled performance of the season albeit a disappointing
01:11result. Dan Byrne in the back I thought was exceptional in terms of dominating in the
01:16air. The midfield three, I want to get a special word out, Bruno Guimaraes, Joel Linton and
01:22Sandro Tonali. I thought that was the best balance we've seen from a midfield three this
01:29season. Bruno back to his best, just oozing class and calm on the ball. Just a really
01:37intelligent footballer as we've seen there, winning fouls in good positions. Tonali linked
01:42up really well down the right hand side with Trippier and Murphy, nearly casting out the
01:47goal moments after coming off but I thought offensively he brought a real threat down
01:51that right hand side and showed some really, really neat touches. So positive signs from
01:55him and Joel Linton who Eddie Howe described as a destroyer in his pre-match press comments
02:00and he was certainly that today. He drove Newcastle United forward and just sweeped
02:06away I think in midfield. Newcastle United's best away performance for a long time didn't
02:11quite equal in the result but positive signs and they need to build on that now to two
02:16weeks and a national break before Brighton come to St James' Park.
