00:00Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista stated that both airlines and passengers
00:05may face increased costs due to higher fees for using the facilities and
00:09properties at Ninoy Aquino International Airport or NAIA. He clarified that prior
00:16to the increase the landing and takeoff fees at NAIA now managed by San Miguel
00:21led new NAIA Infrastructure Corporation were among the lowest in the ASEAN
00:25region. Based on the approved administrative order international
00:30flights with a maximum takeoff weight of 50,000 kilograms will see a higher
00:34takeoff and landing fee of $794 while those with a maximum takeoff weight of
00:41100,000 kilograms and above will expect to pay as much as $1,794.
00:48Meanwhile domestic flight charges will increase to 15,417 pesos in the first
00:55year while those with a maximum takeoff weight of 100,000 kilograms and above
01:00will pay $34,617.
