00:00Hello there, and welcome to your Wednesday evening weather update from the Met Office.
00:06Through the next few days, mostly settled, although we will see more clouds just encroaching
00:10from the west. Currently, we do have high pressure extending right across the country,
00:15so we'll lose the breeze towards the south, just isolated showers. But notice what's going
00:20on across the Atlantic. Here's an area of low pressure which will bump into the high
00:24towards the east there, bringing with it a stronger wind into the weekend, more clouds
00:30and some showery bursts of rain. It is a slow process, and many areas through the first
00:34part of the weekend should see some fine weather before more clouds and the chance of some
00:38showers, if not some rain. Let's come back to Wednesday evening. Still some showers moving
00:44in across the southeast on a keen breeze. This wind is slowly easing. Elsewhere, clearer
00:50skies, starry skies, it's going to turn cold. Even some mist and fog patches can't be ruled
00:56out across Scotland, the far north of England, and a touch of frost also across the glens
01:01of Scotland, even with a grass frost further south. Even so, for most, it's a fairly dry
01:07and fine end to the night, albeit rather chilly if you're stepping out first thing on Thursday
01:12morning. Let's talk about these showers towards the southeast, one or two fleeting showers
01:17as we head through Thursday, but many areas across these parts where you've seen that
01:22rain, the clouds and also those showers, it's going to be a much better feel to things through
01:26the day tomorrow. Elsewhere, some hazy sunshine across Scotland, a similar situation for Northern
01:32Ireland and blue sky, a mix of cloud and sun elsewhere across England and Wales. Winds
01:39remain fairly light, but they could pick up a little bit across the Western Isles as well
01:44as Northern Ireland later as the clouds slowly rolls in across these parts. Elsewhere, some
01:50sunshine to end the day as temperatures arrive around 15 or 16 degrees Celsius. Now, through
01:57Thursday evening and overnight, for most, yet again, we'll see clear skies and with
02:02a light wind inland, yes, the chance of some mist and fog patches forming. But towards
02:08the west, this cloud and rain is getting a little bit closer into Friday morning. Notice
02:14thickening clouds across Western Scotland, so a milder night here and more cloud also
02:19just moving across Northern Ireland with a little showery rain across the west of the
02:23province as well as the Western Isles into Friday. Elsewhere, it's a bit of a chilly
02:28start to the day, yet again, some clear skies and some patchy mist and fog and dry across
02:33eastern Scotland through the morning into the afternoon. As this rain skirts the west
02:38of Scotland, the far north, although Shetland will be dry until much later, but some showery
02:42bursts of rain across Northern Ireland and lurking across the Irish Sea. Temperatures
02:47then typically 16, 17 degrees Celsius. Your outlook then through Saturday, it's a similar
02:52situation, more of a wind, some sunshine coming through, more clouds towards the west where
02:58there could be some showers. However, through Sunday, yes, it's going to be a windier day.
03:04The chance of showers pretty much anywhere. Frequent bursts towards the north as well
03:08as the west and temperatures slightly higher in the south, 17 or 18 degrees Celsius. I'll
03:13see you later.
