00:00 Hello, it's been a cloudy day for most of us today but there has been some sunny spells
00:04 around. However, more cloud and rain is on the way as we head through this evening. This
00:09 is all due to an area of low pressure that will skirt its way across the south of the
00:13 UK, bringing some very wet and windy weather to many parts into Friday morning. But a change
00:18 is on the way. We see high pressure developing out to the west of the UK, bringing something
00:22 a little bit more settled but something a little bit colder through Saturday and Sunday.
00:27 Back to the here and now though, and that rain that we can see across the very far south
00:31 of the UK slowly pushes its way north and eastwards through Thursday evening and into
00:35 Friday morning, bringing some very heavy rainfall totals, particularly across parts of Wales
00:40 and south-west England. Further north, ahead of that band of rain, we see another band
00:44 of rain sinking its way southwards across parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland, with
00:48 some clearer spells behind, albeit with some scattered showers too. Under those clear skies
00:53 across parts of Scotland, temperatures dropping down into single figures and we could see
00:57 the odd patch of frost possible. But further south, under all that cloud and rain, another
01:01 mild night, those temperatures holding up widely into the double figures. So a mild,
01:06 a murky, grey, damp start across the south of the UK through Friday morning. That band
01:11 of rain will slowly sink its way south and eastwards through the day on Friday. But further
01:16 north, another dry day, plenty of sunny spells around, those showers pushing in from the
01:21 west as we head through the afternoon and perhaps turning a little wintry across the
01:25 high ground of Scotland, turning very windy across the north as well where we could see
01:29 some gales possible later through the afternoon. A much fresher feel to the day across Scotland
01:34 as well, temperatures not reaching much above 10, 11, maybe 12 degrees. But further south,
01:39 under all that cloud and rain, temperatures perhaps reaching 20, maybe 21 degrees, although
01:44 not feeling too warm with those stronger winds that we're likely to see. Through Friday evening,
01:50 that band of rain across the south-east of the UK slowly clears its way towards the south-east,
01:54 leaving a much drier night for most places. Plenty of clear skies developing, perhaps
01:59 the odd patch of mist and fog possible in places, but further showers pushing in from
02:03 the west, particularly across Northern Ireland, parts of Northern England and parts of Scotland
02:07 as well, seeing those showers continue. A much chillier night as well on Friday night
02:11 and into Saturday morning, more widely dropping down into the single figures and again a touch
02:16 of frost possible across the Highlands of Scotland. So Saturday starts a much drier
02:21 and brighter day, plenty of sunshine around through the morning. Those showers continue
02:25 to spread in from the north-west though, becoming a bit more widespread as we head through Saturday
02:29 afternoon. We could see the odd heavy downpour and for Scotland, those showers more widely
02:33 turning wintry over the hills, with a few places seeing some accumulations possible.
02:38 A much fresher feel to Saturday as well, with that north-westerly wind, temperatures not
02:42 reaching much above 14 or 15 degrees, so a much more autumnal feel to the day on Saturday
02:47 compared to what we've seen recently. That fresher feel likely to continue as we head
02:53 through Sunday as well, but you can find out more about that forecast on our YouTube channel
02:57 and don't forget to follow us on social media. Bye bye!
