00:00Well, the Queensland election campaign is officially underway.
00:05Premier Stephen Miles has made the traditional trip to Government House so the writ can be
00:09issued and Parliament dissolved.
00:11But today, rather than arriving in the usual Government car, he caught public transport
00:16here.
00:17No doubt keen to remind voters, even on this trip to kick off the campaign, that it was
00:21his Government that brought in the trial of flat 50 cent public transport fares in Queensland,
00:26something both Labor and the LNP have since pledged to keep.
00:30Emerging from Government House, Mr Miles held a quick press conference where he talked about
00:34his Government's cost of living initiatives, such as 50 cent fares, energy rebates, and
00:38says he has a vision for the state's future.
00:41Labor is seeking a fourth term in Government.
00:43Meanwhile, the LNP is making the case time's up for Labor and it should govern after almost
00:49a decade in opposition.
00:51Queenslanders head to the polls on October 26.
