00:00Stephen Miles and David Crisafulli have gone head-to-head for the second time during the
00:06Queensland election campaign.
00:09The debate started with a coin toss, which the LNP leader won, meaning he got to make
00:14the first opening statement.
00:16The two leaders began by outlining their policy platforms.
00:19Mr Crisafulli said voting for the LNP would be a vote for change and a fresh start, while
00:25Mr Miles painted the Labor government as one voters can trust and can take the state forward
00:30for the next four years.
00:32The two leaders clashed on a number of issues, including scare campaigns and the issue of
00:37abortion, which was decriminalised in Queensland in 2018.
00:41There won't be a change and I look forward in four years' time, if I'm given the privilege
00:46of running this state, to remind Queenslanders of the smear that was run.
00:51It has been vitriolic, it has crossed the line, and I have ruled it out.
00:57Premier, your rebuttal?
00:59Any comments?
01:00Any rebuttal?
01:01Oh, well, 132 times he's failed to answer that simple question.
01:11He won't tell Queenslanders what his own views are.
01:16Queenslanders know what I believe.
01:17I was the health minister who decriminalised abortion.
01:21I spoke on that bill.
01:23He voted against it, but did not speak on it.
01:27Queenslanders can trust me because they know my position.
01:31The opposition leader also left the door open to repealing the ban on property developers
01:35making donations in state elections.
01:38Both leaders will go head to head for the third and final time next week, before the
01:44election is held on October 26.
01:47Almost 300,000 Queenslanders have already voted as early voting opened on Monday.
