The Queensland Premier has been in the state's far north spruiking his election pledge to deliver free lunches for every state primary school student.

00:30Laborers pledged to spend $1.4 billion on the free school lunches which would be available
00:34to every state primary school student in Queensland.
00:38Mr Miles says the policy is costed at $8 per meal for each student.
00:42The Premier says some schools might need to outsource to local cafes to make the meals
00:46but he wants the policy up and running from term one next year.
00:50These example menus have been developed on the advice of Health and Wellbeing Queensland.
