00:00So I don't think this is a crisis. I don't quite know how to put it. I don't
00:08know that I would say we're crisis adjacent or bordering on a crisis but
00:12the injuries are starting to pile up. Marcus Davenport is probably done for
00:18the year. Which they took a chance on a guy that's been injured. When he's
00:26healthy they looks like he can be a pretty good football player he hasn't
00:29been able to stay healthy Detroit got him and what does he do unfortunately he
00:33gets hurt again and it was a reported by Ian Rappaport I believe yesterday was
00:40the first to say he was likely done for the year and Dan Campbell said as much
00:43although somebody in lines. Have they confirmed it's a torn triceps or I
00:48thought I read this morning I thought it might be yesterday they thought elbow
00:51but kind of maybe it's where the tricep meets the elbow I don't know but either
00:56way perhaps gone for the year that's too bad yeah very high expectations for
01:02Marcus Davenport coming in um and by the way speaking of Lions because of the
01:06Monday night game Jared Goff joins us tomorrow we'll have Jared Goff on
01:11tomorrow it being Tuesday in their work week yes today so so the Wednesday
01:17becomes what Tuesday is Tuesday's a day off in the NFL typically but for the
01:22Lions their day off will be Wednesday okay so Davenport's probably done for
01:25the year Frank Ragnow is a torn pack he's week to week you just heard him
01:29talked about in the update Derek Barnes has a knee that's gonna lead to
01:32significant playing time lost Alec Anzalone is still in concussion protocol
01:36he could come out of that at any time Brian Branch also in concussion protocol
01:41others nursing injuries of various degrees that missed time in a game Sam
01:44Laporta Lee McNeil Levi on Zarique Terry on Arnold Dan skipper I think there's
01:49even more it's as you mentioned Glasgow I did not mention Glasgow he didn't yep
01:54he's banged up as well we'll see when it comes you know time to set your
02:01active roster on Monday but when we when we've every time we talked about the
02:09Lions leading up to the preseason almost every topic we would give the addendum
02:14provided there aren't there isn't massive injuries right and this isn't
02:22massive yet but they're starting to pile up now they're a deep team and you
02:29know how we say at the end of when you when you get down to the final cuts and
02:35we've always said these practice squad guys are important these guys are
02:41important because they're gonna play you don't know which ones and didn't you go
02:48into the season crossing your fingers but the truth is practice squad guys get
02:53called up and the next thing you know and it's one of those things that leads
02:57to us as we have mentioned once a year we're gonna say during a Lions game
03:02somebody makes a play and we're gonna go who because invariably there's a
03:09practice squad quad player that has to get activated because somebody got hurt
03:12late in the week and the next thing you know they're playing so who from the
03:17practice squad can get elevated could be Chris Smith could be Isaac Okwu
03:22remember him from the preseason the who guy would be Pat O'Connor who is on the
03:30practice squad as a defensive lineman they may not elevate anybody from the
03:35practice squad and may just go with the group that they have and activate a
03:38player that hasn't been eligible or hasn't been activated in James Houston
03:43but Scott this is starting to pile up where are you on the worry scale oh I'm
03:49worried I'm worried because the rag now situation I'm worried and I'm also a
03:57little bit encouraged maybe the bye week comes at a fantastic time which you
04:02don't normally would you wouldn't normally say that after four weeks
04:04because the Lions will play Seattle on Monday and then they have the bye week
04:09but right now because of how banged up they are maybe it's a blessing that by
04:13week comes this early but the rag now situation is look it's already
04:17concerning because he's dealing with a chronic foot injury and now you're
04:21talking about a partially torn Peck yeah I'm not a doctor but that doesn't sound
04:26good that doesn't sound like oh yeah if you play with it you shouldn't damage it
04:30anymore right if it's partially torn gonna get more torn that's a concern and
04:37the player who would go in in his place if you want to sit him out a week let's
04:42Graham Glasgow so if Graham Glasgow is banged up and Frank rag now is banged up
04:49then you get into real a real situation now maybe Glasgow is able to go and it's
04:54just he's banged up to start the week and he'll be okay for game time but
04:58would he be anywhere near 100% what he has been but it's again it's shuffling
05:02because now you got to come up with a new a new left guard so as I was see
05:08could come up you know he said got plenty of playing time last year Dan
05:12Skipper if Dan Skipper is unable to go think about what a huge part of the
05:15offense he was on Sunday how many I mean skipper reporting yes here we go love it
05:21here we go but if he's unable to go then do they need to bring somebody else up I
05:25think when you look at the practice squad guys one of the one of the moves I
05:30really liked on the practice squad they were able to keep him on is to Marco
05:33Jones mm-hmm the veteran offensive tackle and he's he's a bit of a maulers
05:39and I kind of like him and I feel like he's he's better than just a practice
05:44squad guy so does he get an opportunity although if he's just a guard or if he's
05:48just a tackle that maybe maybe not but does he come in in place of skipper if
05:52skipper can't go but the rag now said the rag now injuries the one that really
05:55concerns because it would shuffle everything else around two four eight
05:59five three nine ninety seven ninety seven phone calls feedback Carson
06:02Anderson ninety-seven one and Terry on Arnold I mean look I actually don't have
06:08a problem with the way he's been playing I mean it hasn't been perfect and I
06:11don't expect him to be perfect and the flags are then I mean they are what they
06:16are he's taking five 15-yard penalties but or I guess spot foul penalties
06:21because of pass interference but he's he's in position to make plays which is
06:27one of the tougher skills to try and you know that's the hard part of the
06:32position now it comes down to the playing of the football the hand
06:36fighting and all the things that he has gotten flagged for not turning around in
06:39time relatively speaking that's the easy part the hardest part is staying in
06:44phase with the receiver that you are covering so but him being banged up by
06:50you know you hope he's okay Derek Barnes man look they got depth at
06:55linebacker everybody loves Rodrigo and it's great to have Rodrigo but Derek
06:59Barnes was playing I mean he was playing a different role he was setting up on
07:03the edge and they were going with an Anzalone and and Jack Campbell in the
07:07middle and and rushing Derek Barnes a lot and that that's a underrated loss
07:12and remember a couple years ago we wondered if Derek Barnes would be the
07:16odd man out and Derek Barnes has turned himself into a hell of an asset for this
07:19team he really has but it has and it's unfortunate what happened to him and
07:24what he got chop-locked with the knee and that that sucks too but I would
07:29expect Anzalone he's gonna play on Monday night and having him back is is
07:33good for that defense he's the leader of the defense and that opens up the
07:37possibility okay does Jack Campbell become the pass rushing kind of role
07:42that Derek Barnes could play or you know Anzalone he does that very well too and
07:47you could shift Rodriguez over whatever you have to do I'm not worried about the
07:51Lions linebacker room I think it I feel terrible for Derek Barnes because he had
07:55played his way onto the starting roster there but they do have guys can step in
08:00it's not just Malcolm Rodriguez it's it's Ben Neiman got to play last week as
08:04well and it's Jalen Reeves-Maben who is quite competent flying around the field
08:09so that doesn't concern me as much as the offensive line injury does.
