00:00So you've been around. You've been around. You've heard this team. You've seen things.
00:04What do you think? I don't see a loss in the schedule.
00:08No? No, I do think
00:12that they can win fewer games this year and still win
00:16the division and maybe even have a more successful season. It feels like the
00:20division is going to be a lot tougher. Yeah. But I think in the end
00:24they may go further. Yeah. I mean going further would mean...
00:28Going pretty far. We all know what it means.
00:32Since you've been here a lot more than we have, are you buying the Levi on Zarrique?
00:36I knew that would be your first question. I think so.
00:40I think I am. When you watch him play, he just seems so much more
00:44powerful. I mean the extra 20 pounds of muscle, which is a lot of muscle
00:48to add in the single losses and up to close to 300 pounds,
00:52is showing up in one-on-ones, in team drills. You can
00:56hear him play in a way that you couldn't in the past.
01:00He is playing with a force and a violence
01:04that wasn't evident in his first three seasons. Part of that was
01:08injury and part of that was just not having the body he has now. I think he's
01:12poised to do big things, not just on the interior, but he's going to play a lot as a big
01:16end also. And man, if he pops, as you said yesterday,
01:20that defensive tackle spot could all of a sudden be a strength. What do you think is the biggest
01:24position battle right now going into the final roster cuts?
01:28Receiver, for sure. I know that Kalief Raymond
01:32is wide receiver three, technically, but they still
01:36want an X-type, a Z-type receiver.
01:40It seems like Isaiah Williams is a legitimate dark horse. I know he doesn't have
01:44the physical traits that they might be seeking in that outside job,
01:48but if he keeps making plays at some point, you have to value that.
01:52I think he's second in the NFL in receiving yards in the preseason.
01:56In the preseason, we can repeat that, but man, he's got a spark to him.
02:00At some point, it becomes hard to deny what he can do for this offense.
02:04We're short on time. I encourage the audience to log on to twitch.tv or youtube.com
02:08just to do a fit check on what the birch kit is worth.
02:12I haven't broken out the bandana yet this training camp, so it seemed like the last day was the right
02:16day to do so. You think so? Yeah.
02:20You know what the thing about this look? It is so you.
02:24Were you in the media room yesterday when Dan Campbell made the
02:28comment about Nate Sudfeld having a leg up? Did people in the media
02:32look at each other? Is it true?
02:36Do people believe it? I don't know if it even means all that much.
02:40It might just be a matter of semantics with the new NFL rule where you can have
02:44three quarterbacks active on game day. I don't know that Nate Sudfeld
02:48currently having a leg up on Hendon Hooker in August has any
02:52bearing on the season. I feel pretty confident that if Jerry Goff does
02:56get hurt, if Jerry Goff does get hurt at some point this year,
03:00Hendon Hooker will be the guy they turn to. I think he can develop
03:04enough over the next two weeks and then into the season to where they would feel
03:08confident putting him in this game. They just value Sudfeld's eyes
03:12and his experience in that QB room. You see him talking to Goff all the time
03:16between plays, between reps, breaking down how he saw compared to
03:20how Goff may have seen it. It's the same reason they kept David Blau around
03:24for so long, who's now a quarterbacks coach. They value that insight,
03:28that trusted set of eyes, but Hooker to me is the player
03:32if they need to turn to one this season. Who's your guy out here? The guy that you're
03:36pulling for that makes the roster? A guy maybe you've interviewed
03:40and he's got a great story, he's got great work ethic, he's showing up a little bit that
03:44you hope makes it. I know I've mentioned him, but Isaiah Williams
03:48is highly likable. He did a lot in the Big Ten.
03:52He's done a lot. I think he's one that obviously jumps out.
03:56I'm pulling for Matthew Betts. 18 sacks is 18 sacks.
04:00I don't care if it's in the CFL, the UFL, or
04:04maybe one day in the NFL, but the way that he displayed himself
04:08last Saturday against the Chiefs was pretty impressive.
04:12And then, look, everyone has eyes on Jamo for obvious reasons.
04:16He is a guy who possesses all of the star qualities.
04:20The one thing he's missing so far is the production, but if and when it happens
04:24he's going to be a superstar because everything about him screams charismatic
04:28and likable and shiny, and I think people are
04:32pulling for him to succeed in a big way this year. Will Birchfield, the birchy kid on
04:36Twitter and writes for our website, 971theticket.com, does a great
04:40job. New dad, how's Little Legend doing? Ah, dude, he's growing. He's expanding
04:44quickly. It is crazy. He's like a 25-pound shakeweight.
