00:00I'm not sure we can really explain it, you know, when you see, um, the score of 52 to 14,
00:07you're automatically thinking it's just awesome destruction with your offense.
00:12We know what Jared golf has been this week, this year, and let alone the last several weeks,
00:17where he's been near perfect. In fact, one game was perfect 18 for 18. And he said this ridiculously
00:25high, complete percentage, uh, knock on water, knock on water, knock on wood. He hasn't turned
00:30the ball over. I don't know what the hell I'm talking about. He hasn't turned the ball over.
00:35Uh, he's, he's taken care of it. And, and the team is winning. And then you look at this score
00:40and you see 52 to 14. And you're thinking, at least I would have been thinking, had I seen
00:44the box score and not watch the game. Okay. So what golf do throw for over 300 yards,
00:49probably had four touchdowns. They probably ran for a couple hundred close to a couple hundred
00:53yards. And then you look at it and all they had 17 first downs in the game, Tennessee at 23.
00:59Okay. They never went for it on fourth down. Interesting. They only ran 47 plays, 47 plays,
01:09Tennessee ran 71, Tennessee at over 400 yards on offense. The lions had 225 yards in total offense.
01:19I'm sorry. What's that? You score 52 points in the game with 225 yards in offense.
01:26They averaged 4.8 yards per play compared to the 5.9 of Tennessee.
01:33So obviously something else happened along the way. And what happened along the way was turnovers.
01:41Tennessee commits four turnovers. And I'd have to do more than perhaps a little more research.
01:47Perhaps a little more research on this, but I feel like all those turnovers happen in the red zone,
01:53their own red zone, by the way, to allow the lions now to take over
01:56in the red zone. And the lions were perfectly, they were five of five for touchdowns in the red
02:02zone. They just didn't have to go very far. That's the thing. When you have a one play drive for 70
02:08yards, cause you hand the ball to Jameer Gibbs. And I don't know about you, but for me watching
02:14that play, I had to go back and remind him, like, I know, I know that they fair caught the catch or
02:20whatever the kick and they start their own 30. I know they did this, but that didn't look like it
02:25was a 70 yard run. It looked like it was like a 45 yard run. I rewound the tape because I wanted
02:31to see how fast he gets to the 50 to go from the 30 to the 50 like that, which is exactly what he
02:37did. Jameer Gibbs is awesome. And obviously as a breakaway speed and just, just an amazing game
02:44by the lions. And we'd be remiss if we didn't mention the contributions of the special teams.
02:52Well, yeah, you mentioned, you mentioned turnover special teams is the other reason.
02:56Yeah, exactly. It's four turnovers and then, okay, well that accounts for a lot of the points,
03:00but they still scored 52. How else? Well, here's how else Khalif Raymond with 190 punt return yards
03:08you had a nice kickoff return as well. So you've got that going for you, which is nice when
03:19you see Khalil Dorsey, take it back 72 yards and not getting the end zone, but didn't matter.
03:25Not long after that, they, they did. You see Jake Bates hit seven of his hits. It has another 10
03:32point game for Jake Bates, seven extra points. And then a 51 yard field goal, which it feels
03:38like right now. And I don't want to, I'm again, I'm knocking on wood here. I don't think they
03:44have a problem with their kicker. I like, I like what Jake Bates is doing this year.
03:49And I think he's only going to get better as time goes on because he's getting more and more
03:52experience of, of kicking in an actual football game, kicking in front of 65,000 fans. Every time
03:59he takes the field on Sunday, at least 65,000 fans, that's what we have here at Ford field,
04:06let alone what you're going to see on the road when the stadiums are bigger.
04:10So I don't really worry about him and Jack Fox doing Jack Fox things. He goes unnoticed. Did
04:17you know Jack Fox averaged 61 yards a punt dude. He had one that went like 65 or something. 67.
04:23Oh God. I'm sorry. Short him two yards. Yeah. Seven years. Oh no, it was two, three of the
04:30five kicks went inside the 20 Jack Fox. Apparently according to sports works last
04:36night with Dan Miller and the crew, I believe they said that that's an NFL record for most,
04:41for the highest net average with at least five punts in a game was insane.
04:4961 yards a kick. That's absolutely incredible.
