00:00Good morning from the Pag-Asa Weather Forecasting Center.
00:04This is our update on the weather for the next 24 hours.
00:09Earlier, at 2.30 a.m., the Philippine Area of Responsibility
00:16released this storm that we are monitoring,
00:18which has a local name, Igme.
00:20And this tropical depression, our latest location,
00:23as of 4 a.m., is 520 kilometers north-northeast
00:28of Itbayat, Matanes.
00:30It has a strong wind that is close to the middle,
00:32reaching 55 kilometers per hour,
00:35when it opens, it reaches 70 kilometers per hour.
00:38Its continuous movement,
00:39with a low current at a speed of 35 kilometers per hour,
00:43is far from our country.
00:45And at the moment, it is far from our province,
00:48there is no direct effect on us,
00:50but we can see here in our latest satellite images,
00:53these thick clouds that are continuously
00:55moving in a large part of Luzon and Visayas
00:58is the continuous effect of the southwest monsoon,
01:01or hanging habagat.
01:02That's why a large part of Luzon,
01:04as well as here in Western Visayas and the summer provinces,
01:09will experience a dark day today.
01:12It will be accompanied by heavy rains,
01:14floods, and landslides.
01:16The most affected by the habagat,
01:18this is the movement of the southwest monsoon,
01:21this large part of the extreme northern Luzon,
01:23so in Batanes, Baboyan Islands,
01:25and also here in the western section of northern and central Luzon,
01:29in the areas of the Ilocos region,
01:31and in the provinces of Zambales and Bataan.
01:34That's why we expect,
01:35since these are the areas that are exposed,
01:37or the most exposed to the habagat,
01:39the high chance of strong and continuous rains today.
01:44In the southern part of Visayas and the entire Mindanao,
01:48we will experience a clear weather for today,
01:52aside from the chance of isolated rain showers
01:55or the usual thunderstorms
01:57that will last from afternoon to night.
02:01This is our latest track and intensity forecast
02:05for the Igme storm.
02:07While it is outside our park,
02:09its movement will continue generally west-northwestward
02:12for the remainder of the day,
02:14and when it arrives tomorrow,
02:16its movement will be west-southwestward.
02:19The strength of the Igme storm will continue
02:21due to a tropical depression today,
02:23but when it arrives tomorrow,
02:25since the location of Igme is unfavorable,
02:29it will weaken or continue to weaken
02:32into a low-pressure area,
02:34and it will still remain far away from our country.
02:38There is no longer a high wind signal
02:41in any part of our pool.
02:43Even now, due to the habagat,
02:45we will still experience a high wind
02:48in the areas of Ilocos Region,
02:50Abra, Benguet, Batanes, Baboyan Islands,
02:54the extreme eastern portion of Isabela,
02:56Nueva Vizcaya, and Zambales.
02:59When it arrives tomorrow, September 22,
03:02we will still experience a high wind
03:04in the areas of Ilocos Region,
03:06Abra, Benguet, Batanes, Baboyan Islands,
03:09mainland Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya,
03:13and Zambales.
03:16In terms of the heavy rainfall
03:19due to the habagat
03:20caused by the Igme storm
03:22outside our pool,
03:24today, we expect heavy to intense rainfall
03:27amounting to around 100-200 mm of rain
03:31in the extreme northern zone
03:33in the areas of Batanes and Baboyan Islands.
03:35The habagat today will experience
03:37moderate to heavy rain
03:38in the areas of Ilocos Region,
03:40Zambales, and Bataan.
03:42The rainfall due to the habagat
03:44starting tomorrow
03:45in the extreme northern zone
03:46and most of Ilocos Region
03:48will be moderate to heavy rain
03:50in the areas of Pangasinan,
03:52Zambales, and Bataan.
03:54So, in the mentioned areas,
03:56let's continue to be prepared
03:58and alert to the dangers of flooding
04:00and landslides,
04:01especially if the rainfall
04:03that we will experience is continuous.
04:06In terms of the weather,
04:08due to the effect of the habagat,
04:10as of 5 a.m.,
04:11we have a gale warning
04:13in the areas of Ilocos Sur,

04:32up to the extreme ocean
04:33brought by the habagat.
