00:00Have you ever had to make a difficult decision and you get so overwhelmed that you do absolutely nothing?

00:03I have!

00:04But then I have to remember that I'm an adult, and I adulted.

00:06And this is how panic decisions are made.

00:08Welcome to this tragic episode of I Made the Wrong Panic Decision.

00:11Here's the thing, I bought this dresser as part of a set to flip,

00:13and last week I flipped the matching lowboy.

00:15Now I have to decide what to do with this one.

00:16Morally, my heart is telling me to keep them together.

00:18Financially, my wallet is telling me to do what will make me the most money.

00:20And creatively, my brain wants me to get a little crazy with it.

00:22So what do I do?

00:24Break some stuff!

00:25That usually gives me clarity.

00:26And after hitting some things with a hammer, I've made my decision.

00:31We're going to match it!

00:35I said we, because I'm assigning you 50% of the blame for not successfully stopping me from doing this.

00:39But it's happening, so let's get rid of anything that might hurt us.

00:42Including things that hurt my eyes.

00:43Can someone please tell me why the 1900s were plagued with this handle?

00:46Could we not have thought of anything else?

00:48I mean, really, it took 2,000 years to think of any other handle shape?

00:51That's crazy.

00:51But at least we finally progressed.

00:53And now these handles will be moving on to my secret stash of handles that I'll probably never use.

00:57Logically, I know I'll never use them.

00:58But I did inherit a little bit of hoarding, so...

01:01Wow, look at that blank slate!

01:02I know it's chaos, but everybody needs a little chaos.

01:04You know, just a little bump to remind you that the flame's still burning in there.

01:07And unfortunately, as an adult, we also have to deal with our manic decisions.

01:10Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

01:15And clean up our message.

01:16Honestly, I don't prefer flipping taller dressers.

01:18First, because they don't sell as well as low dressers.

01:20But also, I'm not tall enough.

01:21I'm at the age, realistically, where everything I do is a potential liability.

01:24You learn that when you start paying for your own health insurance.

01:26Turns out, paying giant companies a bunch of money to stay alive is kind of a bummer.

01:30But you gotta do what you gotta do sometimes, so I'm risking it for the biscuit.

01:33Which I just feel like summarizes what it feels like to work for yourself.

01:35It is hard making decisions all by yourself.

01:37Especially when they involve money.

01:38And especially when you make wrong ones.

01:40And it feels like the world's gonna end and you're a dumb, stupid idiot.

01:42But that's business, baby.

01:44It's all a game.

01:45You just gotta keep playing.

01:46Unfortunately, sometimes the game plays you.

01:48And no matter what decision you make, you still look like a fool.

01:50It's honestly hard to know how to make decisions.

01:52Sometimes you just have to wait for the sign.

01:54Like for example, my sign this time was buying too much half dowel trim for my last flip.

01:57So I could avoid making two trips to the store.

01:59But it was way too much and now I'm too anxious to return it.

02:01So I obviously took that as the stars wanted me to match the set.

02:04And I'm not gonna disobey the stars.

02:05That's crazy.

02:06Now before anyone tells me it's not hard to return things, just go do it.

02:09That logic does not work on me.

02:10I already tried that.

02:10Any better ideas?

02:11So until I get over my fear of returning things, the dowels will be doweling.

02:14But before I get a little crazy with the glue, I need to drill new holes for hardware.

02:17Which will be done with professionalism and precision.

02:19Dad, if you're watching this, feel free to tell me how precise and professional I am.

02:22And you're the proud father of the greatest child ever.

02:25And if you're not my dad, then I need you to just sit there

02:27and watch me drill the cleanest hole you've ever seen.

02:29Is it a lot of setup for a litty bitty hole?

02:31Absolutely.

02:32But it'll give you clean holes every time.

02:33So on the details, people.

02:35If we're not doing the most, then what are we doing?

02:37We're putting all the dowels on.

02:38Which honestly kind of lost its fun after the first tour.

02:41But the show must go on.

02:42And now for my second act, I'll make this filler disappear.

02:47As well as his skirt.

02:49That's it.

02:53Oh my god, are we still flipping this thing?

02:55That's exactly how I felt by the time I got to priming.

02:58At this point, I was kind of over.

03:00Since I already did this design on the matching low board,

03:01I already knew how much work it was going to be.

03:03But then it started to really feel like work.

03:05You know, kind of boring.

03:06Monotonous.

03:07A lot of repeated steps over and over again.

03:09Usually that doesn't bother me as much.

03:11I am a recovering lazy person.

03:13Because I'm always excited to see my final design.

03:15Pause for the toxic chemicals.

03:16But since I already knew what my design was going to look like,

03:19I just wanted the chaos to end.

03:20And I'm sure you do too.

03:21So here are the final results.

03:23Wow.

03:24Looks pretty good as a set, doesn't it?

03:26And that's how I listed them on Facebook Marketplace too.

03:28And for the price of $1,150, they could have stayed together.

03:31But here's the problem.

03:32I played myself.

03:32Because I do always offer the option to sell them separately.

03:35But joke's on me.

03:35Because that's exactly what happened with this set.

03:37The low boy dresser sold by itself.

03:39So instead of $1,150, I only made $675.

03:42And now I have this tall boy all by itself.

03:44That I didn't even want to make look like this in the first place.

03:46Even though it does look really good.

03:47But like I said, it's harder to sell tall boys by themselves.

03:50So if anyone wants this thing, let me know.

03:51It's $575.

03:52But if that's out of budget for you, I'll do $574.

03:54Take it or leave it.
