00:00I'm renovating this 1949 home, and today we are destroying the kitchen.
00:03This is my first time destroying a kitchen, so I do have some assistance.
00:06Everybody meet my assistant, DAD!
00:08You're doing great, keep up the good work.
00:09Anyway, this kitchen is small, dark, and gloomy.
00:11So we're gonna knock down this wall and make it bigger.
00:12That means it's demo day!
00:13So all the cabinets have got to go.
00:15Unfortunately for me, I thought demo day meant a lot of smashing.
00:17Apparently, my dad's more of a control demolition kind of guy.
00:20Boring!
00:21So instead of smashing things with hammers,
00:22I spent most of the day removing the nails from these old cabinets.
00:25Not exactly what I had in mind for the day, but...
00:27You won't catch me complaining.
00:28Never.
00:29Before we can take this set of cabinets out, though, we gotta remove the sink.
00:31And she's a hefty girl.
00:32Hefty, hefty, hefty!
00:34Thank god I'm here, though.
00:35I brought my pew-pews to the pew-pew show.
00:37But first, dad has to disconnect it.
00:38That's the dad job.
00:39Mostly, because I don't know what I'm doing yet.
00:41And there was a bee.
00:41Was it already dead when I saw it?
00:43Yes.
00:43That's beside the point.
00:44I don't do bugs.
00:45Period.
00:46So dad undid the water line,
00:47did some things upside down,
00:48and successfully disconnected the sink
00:50without it falling through that giant hole and squishing him.
00:52Which he kept saying was not gonna happen.
00:53But my intrusive thoughts begged to differ.
00:55Thankfully, he was right,
00:56And no dads were squished in the process of removing the sink.
00:58That would've been a day-ruiner.
00:59Sink's gone and these countertops are about to be, too.
01:02Please hold for celebratory dance break.
01:03Dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun.
01:05Dad?
01:06Hello?
01:07I don't know what I'm doing.
01:08Come back!
01:09Back to destroying things?
01:10Eeeeee! Eeeeee!
01:11And that's how it's done.
01:13Now we just have to get the other cabinets down without them crushing us.
01:15Since it's all one piece.
01:16My dad wanted it to come down in one piece.
01:17But I've never personally caught falling cabinets,
01:19so I couldn't guarantee if I was gonna catch them.
01:21Thankfully, my dad's brain is bigger than my muscles.
01:23Allegedly.
01:23So it came up with a better solution.
01:25And I didn't get to find out if I could catch falling cabinets.
01:27I suggested we smash them.
01:28But I'll admit, his solution worked.
01:30And it was pretty clever.
01:31Now watch me pull these cabinets off the wall with my bare hands.
01:34Or at least I would've if it wasn't stuck on the water pipes.
01:36And that sounds like a job for Dad!
01:38Yep.
01:38You go ahead.
01:39And as a reminder, this is what we were looking like at the beginning of the day.
01:42And now we are here.
01:43A little less smashing than I was hoping for.
01:45But next up, we'll be removing this wall.
01:46And I get to hold a sledgehammer!
01:48Who's ready to smash some stuff?
01:49Say me!
