00:00I mean, I think. My comment on
00:05the defense. I'm not totally
00:07concerned because I thought
00:08yeah, there was definitely
00:09things to be improved upon.
00:10They dropped a couple
00:12interceptions they could have
00:13had. Stafford played really
00:14well, releasing the ball so
00:17quick. That was smart. Um I
00:19felt like they were making
00:20plans for the pressure that we
00:22were going to bring. But you
00:23know, we're missing some key
00:25people to we had no Houston. No
00:26DJ reader, which is going to
00:26make a big difference on that
00:29team. I mean, I think we had a
00:30really good team on on hutch in
00:34that situation. But overall, I
00:36mean, there was a lot of
00:37slippage on the field, too. I
00:39mean, we had a pick of one guy
00:41fell down, and I don't know it
00:43was. It wasn't alarming. I
00:44think they're going to make
00:45adjustments, and I'm excited to
00:46see what they do next week.
00:49Yeah, I said it's I mean, I
00:50was surprised to see so many,
00:53you know, slips and the
00:54message there is you can't have
00:56those. I'm glad that on when
00:59you're still able to, you know,
01:00knock the ball down. I thought
01:01that was a key play. We've
01:02talked about that a little bit.
01:05But and I think DJ reader will
01:06help. But and I was going to
01:07ask you this, T J. Looking from
01:10afar, having watched it once
01:12and then watching some
01:13highlights this morning. Levi
01:15owns a Rike. I don't know if
01:17you could ever live up to the
01:18hype that he was receiving in
01:20the preseason. Not having seen
01:23him for three years. He's been
01:24hurt. Everybody was talking
01:26about the camp that he had. I
01:27Yeah, I was I was encouraged by
01:29what I saw from him. Yeah, he
01:30was. He was noticeable,
01:31especially in the first half.
01:32I think, you know, split the
01:34sack. I think with Davenport
01:37made some big, you know, some
01:38some really good stops in the
01:40run game. I think we're
01:41starting to see what we saw in
01:44Washington, right in college
01:45where he's just jetting off the
01:46ball, man. He's using his
01:47explosiveness, his quickness
01:48getting in the backfield,
01:50finding a way to make plays.
01:51And when you get matched up one
01:53on one, if the line sliding
01:55opposite of to Lee McNeil or
01:57overnight in Hutchinson, you
01:58gotta win those one on ones. I
01:59thought he really showed up in
02:00the first half and I talked to
02:02him after the game and I think
02:03he he mentioned just having, you
02:05know, Marcus Davenport, a
02:06veteran guy in the room and DJ
02:08reader, although he didn't play
02:10last night, but having another
02:11that veteran guy in the locker
02:12room too. And in that meeting
02:14room, how much that has helped
02:15him kind of mature, right? And I
02:17think Levi was everybody has it
02:19at some point in your career
02:20where it's make or break, right?
02:22Hey, if I don't come out, you
02:23know, if I don't start playing
02:25better, if I'm not, you know,
02:26if I don't find a way to be
02:27healthy and get on the field, if
02:28I don't find a way to, you know,
02:29contribute to this team, man, I
02:30might not have a job. I think
02:31Levi, Levi probably went through
02:33this, this off season. Uh,
02:35certainly a guy that we were all
02:36excited to see just after all
02:37the cam pipe that he got, but I
02:39thought he was noticeable and I
02:40thought that could be huge this
02:42season. If you can get, uh,
02:44continue to get that pass rush
02:46from an interior guy. Uh, I
02:48think Levi good start for him.
02:51Um, certainly got room like
02:53everybody in the same boat
02:54certainly got room to get better,
02:55but he was noticeable. And
02:56that's what I think I really
02:57wanted to see JMO noticeable.
02:59That's kind of the thing we've
03:00been waiting for. This is the
03:01player he was supposed to be.
03:03He had a hundred yards, hit the
03:05big 50 plus yard touchdown in
03:06the game. Uh, St. Brown, not as
03:09noticeable. Is that just a
03:10benefit to how this offense is
03:11going to be TJ? Like pick your
03:12poison. You can't take everybody
03:14away or should they have done
03:16more to get St. Brown involved?
03:17You know what part of me thinks
03:19you got to find ways to get St.
03:22Brown involved. Um, and you
03:23look at it yesterday on the
03:24other side and you're like, all
03:25they've got is Cooper cup, but
03:26he's still getting 22 targets.
03:28You know, whatever it was like,
03:29you still got to find ways to be
03:30creative to get him the ball.
03:32Right. I think we can all agree
03:33that this offense is much better
03:35if 14 is getting, you know, more
03:37than three touches a game. Um,
03:39so yeah, certainly that's
03:41something that they're going to
03:42look at. I don't, it's hard to
03:43tell the coverage wise. I'm not
03:44sure if they were bracketing him
03:46a ton during that game.
03:47Obviously the Rams defense was
03:48doing something because they
03:51focus was taking him away. And
03:52look, I think we saw much like
03:54Levi Jameson was getting a lot
03:56of hype every single day. You
03:57couldn't go a day without
03:58training camp with somebody
03:59talking about him. Uh, and, but
04:01I think a lot of us just still
04:02wanted to see it in a game.
04:03He's just so dangerous with the
04:04ball in his hand. I mean, we're
04:06watching last night and just the
04:07speed that he's coming off the
04:08line with, um, the guy's a
04:10playmaker, the guy's a playmaker
04:12and his route tree, he's able to
04:13go over the middle. Uh, he's not
04:15just no longer the gadget guy.
04:17Hey, get quick screens and
04:18reverses and throw bombs to
04:21I think they really feel like
04:22they can utilize the entire
04:23field with him. And look, if
04:24he's a guy getting eight, nine
04:26touches a game, uh, I think
04:27that's a pretty good recipe to,
04:29to, to have some explosive plays
04:31on that offense. So I I'm sure,
04:33you know, Ben Johnson's probably
04:34going in today thinking of ways,
04:35uh, how can we get, um, and
04:37round the ball more, but damn,
04:38we feel pretty good about what
04:39we got from Jameson as well.
04:40But if they're going to take
04:41away the middle of the field and
04:43limit Sam Laporta, who still had
04:45four for 45 limit a Monrath St.
04:48Brown, that's where you need
04:49that other guy to step up,
04:50whether it's Jameer Gibbs in the
04:51passing game in the run game
04:53with David Montgomery, it's
04:54Jameson Williams that has to
04:56have a game like that. If
04:57they're going to limit those
04:59other, those other playmakers.
05:01And when that happens now, if
05:02you're Tampa or any team in the
05:04future, all right, well, how do
05:05we take away everything? Well,
05:07you can't can't. And so you put
05:10pressure on opposing defensive
05:11coordinators because you could
05:12stretch the field. Jared Goff
05:14showed that he could get him
05:15the ball. You have what they
05:18have had for the last couple of
05:19years with a Monrath St. Brown.
05:21Now you add in the years of
05:23experience, a year of
05:24experience with Laporta, Gibbs,
05:26and then Montgomery just taking
05:28the game over in overtime. Like
05:29it's a very hard offense to try
05:31and game plan. Yeah. And they
05:32played their B, B minus C plus
05:35game. Oh yeah. To your point.
05:38Yeah. Do you want to start
05:39loading up the box and taking
05:40away Dave Montgomery? Okay,
05:41watch this and you know, we'll
05:42hit one over your head with
05:43Jameson Williams. So yeah, I
05:45just can't that's I think that's
05:47the exciting part is still
05:49knowing how much better this
05:50this team and specifically this
05:52offense can even get. D in
05:54Detroit, you're next up. You're
05:55on 97 one. Hey, what's up
05:57fellas? How y'all doing? Good.
05:59Hey man, check this out. Me and
06:00my brother was at the game last
06:02night and he was getting so
06:03frustrated saying how the
06:05defensive line wasn't a second
06:07stopper. And I said, bro, look
06:10at this. Stafford is one of the
06:12greatest that ever did it.
06:13Quick release, but you got to
06:15and my man Davenport. I was so
06:17impressed with Markus Davenport
06:18last night fellas, because he
06:21showed me something. He got
06:22limp. He has um, speed and he
06:26seemed like he has a, a, a wheel
06:28to succeed here, bro. And we
06:30have never seen Hutchison paired
06:32up with somebody of this nature.
06:35I got, I got a prediction. Um,
06:37Davenport is going to be more
06:39productive than both of the
06:41Okorra brothers and Charles
06:43combined, if you stay healthy, fellas.
06:47And when we get DJ Reader in the mix,
06:49and McNeil get back in the mix,
06:51and put James Houston on the field,
06:53that defensive line might be a fierce force, bro.
06:57I seen it last night, and I was impressed.
06:59Even though we didn't have all the sack,
07:01Stafford was very uncomfortable
07:04several times last night, bro.
07:06Yep.
07:06Man, work for it.
07:07Yeah, I'd like to set that bar a little higher.
07:10Than being better than the Ocora brothers
07:11and Charles Harriers.
07:14I mean, combined, okay, we're starting to get there.
07:17So what, they're gonna have like six sacks?
07:19But here's the nice thing,
07:20is when you do have an Onzuriki that steps up,
07:23when DJ Reader is back, what's the knock on him?
07:27Last two years, he's been hurt.
07:28Well, you don't have to use him all the time.
07:30You've got depth at that position,
07:32and you can rotate guys through to keep them fresh
07:34so that you don't get into an overtime situation.
07:36I mean, the defensive line for the Rams
07:39looked exhausted in overtime, and overwhelmed.
07:42I don't think they looked exhausted, they were exhausted.
07:43Yeah.
07:44And they punished them.
07:45I think both defenses were tired.
07:46There were some long drives,
07:48especially in the first half of that game.
07:49I mean, you're talking, you know, 12, 13, 14 plays.
07:52It's like, I don't know if that's how you want to open
07:54week one after not playing in the preseason
07:56with some of those long, grueling drives.
07:58The big fellas like us are out there too.
07:59Yeah, I know, but no, I think, yeah,
08:01look, they found a way at the end, man.
08:03But I'm with you, I think Marcus Davenport,
08:05as long as he stays healthy,
08:07he's a guy that can just collapse the pocket
08:09from the other side.
08:10That's going to make Aidan Hutchinson's job even easier.
