03:24The length is the measurement of distance between two end points.
03:32And here the distance between two end points that is one point from where the pencil starts

03:48So the length of the red pencil is five centimeters.

04:23The yellow pencil is longer as it is eight centimeters long.

04:43Whenever there is a question to find out how long find the difference between the two lengths.

05:13Here we have three things, a paper clip, a glue and a key.
05:20What is the length of a paper clip?
05:24We know length is the distance between the two end points.
05:30So first mark the two end points that is the starting and the ending of a clip like this.
05:40Now place the scale and count how many centimeters are there between the two end points.
05:51There are three centimeters.
05:55So length of the clip is three centimeters.
06:03What is the length of the glue?
06:06We know length is the distance between the two end points.
06:11So first mark the two end points that is starting and ending of a glue like this.
06:22Now place the scale and count how many centimeters are there.
06:31Here are nine centimeters.
06:34So length of the glue is nine centimeters.
06:42What is the total length of glue and clip?
06:48To find the total length, we will add the lengths of both things.
06:55Here the length of clip is three centimeters and length glue is nine centimeters.
07:05Adding both we get twelve centimeters.
07:10So the length of both clip and glue is twelve centimeters.
07:21How many paper clips will add up to the length of one glue?
07:28Length of one paper clip is three centimeters and length of glue is nine centimeters.
07:37Here divide nine by three to get how many threes are required to make nine.
07:47Nine divided by three equals three.
07:53So three clips will add up to the length of one glue.

08:05So we will calculate their lengths in centimeters.
08:11But in case of bigger things, we calculate lengths in meters.

08:36The length of the tower is sixty-eight meters.
08:42What is the length of the tree?
08:46The tree is thirty-two meters shorter than the tower.
08:52So sixty-eight minus thirty-two we get thirty-six.
09:00Hence, height of the tree is thirty-six meters.
