00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said that the arrest of Alice Guo is a proof that the law cannot be run.

00:08The President thanked all the helpers for making the mission of arresting Guo a success.

00:16Kenneth Paciente is in the center of the news.

00:21No one can escape the hands of the law.

00:24That is what President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said in his message following the arrest of Dismissed Mayor Alice Guo in Jakarta, Indonesia.

00:34Based on the information received by the President from the authorities, Guo was arrested early in the morning.

00:40The President recognized the efforts of the relevant government agencies following this development.

00:47I congratulate all law enforcement personnel who made this apprehension possible.

00:53The public may not know the intricate details of this mission that you have successfully accomplished.

00:59But on their behalf, accept my thanks.

01:02According to the President, it became easier for the Philippine government to arrest Guo

01:07because of the help of the Indonesian government.

01:10At the same time, the President's determination to punish anyone who is guilty.

01:16Let this serve as a warning to those who attempt to evade justice.

01:21Such is an exercise in futility.

01:25The arm of the law is long, and it will reach you.

01:31This government continues in its duty to apply the rule of law.

01:35Even so, the Executive Board decided that Guo will be given the right to fulfill his legal protection requirements.

01:42But he assured that the resolution to this case will be quick.

01:46Ms. Guo shall be entitled to all legal protections due her under the laws of the land

01:51and pursuant to our commitment to the rule of law.

01:55But we will not allow this to prolong the resolution of the case

01:59whose outcome will be a victory for the Filipino people.

02:04The Executive Board has yet to provide any information

02:06on who or how many personnel of the Immigration Bureau will be arrested due to Guo's escape.

02:12And if all of those who are implicated in assisting Alice Guo

02:22to leave the Philippines illegally as a fugitive from justice

02:27will certainly pay the price.

02:30Not only will they...

02:43...against all of the interests of the Philippine judicial system.

02:48Details on Guo's return to the country are being arranged now.
