00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. encouraged the Filipinos,

00:04especially the youth, to take care of our maritime resources.

00:08Not only in the pursuit of our rights, but also in protecting it.

00:13That's what Kenneth Paciente wrote.

00:17As the second largest archipelagic country in the world,

00:21the Philippines is one in establishing the Maritime and Archipelagic Awareness Month, or MANAMO.

00:26In his message, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. pointed out

00:30how important the country is in the broad range of maritime and archipelagic resources

00:36that the Filipinos are benefiting from,

00:38while also urging them to play the role of caring for the so-called rich.

00:45This year's celebration of MANAMO is a clarion call

00:49to raise greater consciousness on maritime and archipelagic concerns,

00:53as well as to engage our people in protecting our maritime interests and resources from various threats.

01:00The President also emphasized the importance of helping to care for the so-called natural wealth,

01:07especially the role of the youth.

01:09I encourage everyone, especially our youth,

01:13to support and to join the countrywide coastal cleanup and conservation activities.

01:19The Executive Board also emphasized that every Filipino has a duty

01:23to care for the natural wealth of the Philippines.

01:27Everything starts from each of us.

01:29And with all of us working together,

01:32we will soon harvest the fruits of our hard work

01:35and realize a sustainable and greener future for everyone to enjoy.

01:40The Maritime and Archipelagic Awareness Month is celebrated

01:43along with the Fish Conservation Week,

01:46International Coastal Cleanup Day,

01:48and National Maritime Day.
