00:00This is yet another great dogfighting game, except this one has next generation planes.
00:19If you liked Warplanes World War 1, then you are also going to like Warplanes Battles Over
00:24the Pacific.
00:26To be honest, it's very much like the first one.
00:29From menus, to the upgrade systems, to customising how your plane looks.
00:34Now of course there are some differences.
00:37The obvious being that the planes are all newer.
00:40And now we get rockets.
00:42More destruction!
00:43There's a choice of around 15 planes you can buy and to grow your collection with.
00:49Though you can only take 5 out with you on each mission.
00:53One lead plane and 4 support planes.
00:56Like before, you can switch between planes during combat.
01:00As usual, you get a choice of how to fly the planes.
01:04You can use sticks or you can grab hold of the controls inside of the plane.
01:09Though this might take some time to get used to.
01:11You can also choose if you want to manually take off or land your plane on missions.
01:17Or you can skip the step with a simple press of a button.
01:20I actually always skip this step myself.
01:24But die-hard aviation fans would probably have more patience than me to learn these
01:29steps.
01:30As before, you get your primary missions.
01:33Such as destroy 2 cruiser ships and 3 destroyer ships.
01:37And then you have your secondary objective.
01:40Like destroy all the enemies.
01:42Which might be a total of 19 enemies.
01:45You don't have to do the secondary missions.
01:47But you will earn more funds if you do.
01:50So you can then upgrade your plane's speed, climbing abilities, turning, armour, machine
01:56guns, ammo and crew intelligence a lot faster.
02:00Weapons you get are dependent on which planes you use.
02:04But most will be equipped with either machine guns, cannons, rockets, bombs and torpedoes.
02:10You can change your loadouts to suit your mission's needs.
02:14Some planes will be small but have great agility for dogfights.
02:19Other planes might be built to be stronger and carry a lot more bombs.
02:23Or some might be built for speed to chase down those enemy bombers.
02:28Enemies are the same as the first game.
02:30It works perfectly for this game.
02:32So I guess it's hard to know how to build on that.
02:35But I do wish they had introduced some sort of new enemies or vehicles.
02:40Flying the planes is just awesome.
02:42The mechanics are so well done.
02:44And you will notice the improvements of the upgrades as you purchase them.
02:48The cockpits look fantastic with all the buttons, dials and levers.
02:53It looks as confusing as the real plane would.
02:56The backdrops look amazing as expected.
03:00From land to sea and the clouds in the skies.
03:03And the night missions offer a different type of look.
03:06The sounds are great and work just perfectly to enhance the game.
03:11The clicks and the thumps from inside the plane, to the engines and propellers of your
03:16planes and other planes around you.
03:18The thunderous sounds of different guns and rockets, the air-raid sirens wailing.
03:24Though there is one thing I do not like.
03:27And that's what I assume is your character talking out loud.
03:30He gets very repetitive and it becomes annoying.
03:34It's a shame there isn't a setting to be able to turn him off.
03:38Multiplayer options offer you to face off against other players from around the globe.
03:42Or you can play with your friends in co-op missions.
03:45I really like Warplanes World War 1, but I absolutely love this next instalment Battles
03:50Over the Pacific.
03:51But it's going to come down to individual tastes at the end of the day.
