00:00Toby and Bash. Toby is a wise wooden steam tram. He is also very cheerful, very friendly and always wants to help his friends.
00:17It was a busy day at the Sodor Search and Rescue Centre. Thomas and Toby huffed in happily.
00:26The Fat Controller had a special for Toby. Toby was excited. His bell jingled and jangled.
00:35I wonder what my special is, Thomas?
00:39Just then, Bash, Dash and Ferdinand came out of the tunnel. They had been working hard on Misty Island. Thomas and Toby were happy to see the logging locos.
00:52Hello! Hello, Thomas and Toby! Good to see you both!
00:59Today, the Fat Controller is giving Bash his reward for being a really useful engine.
01:07That's right!
01:09Bash puffed and peeped with pride. Then the Fat Controller stepped out.
01:17Bash, your reward is to spend the day with Toby. And Toby, your special is to look after our new friend. I know you will do your job well.
01:32Toby jingled with joy and Bash beamed from buffer to buffer.
01:39Thank you, sir!
01:41Thank you, sir!
01:45And Toby and Bash clickety-clacked the way down the track.
01:51First, Toby and Bash puffed to Knapford Station. Toby had to pick up the children and take them to Bluff's Cove.
02:02Thank you, Toby! Thank you, Bash!
02:05Next, Toby and Bash picked up heavy trucks of slate. They heaved and hauled them to Brendam Docks.
02:16Toby biffed and bashed. Bash heaved and hauled till the sun went down. Toby and Bash were tired.
02:27Trembling tracks! We have worked hard. I need a rest. I know just where to chuff to.
02:37Toby led Bash all the way to Arlesdale End. Toby was proud of his home. Bash gasped.
02:47This is lovely. The birds, the woods. It's quiet. It's just the place to rest your aching axles.
02:59You can sleep in my shed.
03:02But I...
03:03No buts, Bash. Sleep well.
03:06Toby watched over Bash as he slept. Then an idea bounced into his bell.
03:16I'm sure Bash would like to have a home of his own on Sodor. Somewhere hushed and happy, like my home.
03:27The next morning, Toby told Bash his plan. Bash was puzzled. Toby was pleased.
03:35Puff along now, Bash!
03:37And before Bash could chuff or huff, Toby was puffing perkily along the tracks.
03:44Toby and Bash steamed swiftly.
03:47I'll find a place for Bash to rest. I'll search high and low till I find the best.
03:53Toby took Bash to the Fenland.
03:57This is a good place, Bash. It's as quiet as my home. You can ease your axles and wind down your wheels.
04:07Bash looked around.
04:09I'd like to stay here.
04:13Then a flock of ducks squawked and hawked into the air. Bash was scared. He'd never seen ducks.
04:22Fizzling fireboxes?
04:25Bash whished away.
04:28Don't worry, Bash. I've another idea.
04:34Toby and Bash rattled and rocked.
04:38I'll find a place for Bash to rest. I'll search high and low till I find the best.
04:45Next, Toby took Bash to Farmer McColl's field.
04:50This is a quieter place, Bash. You can ease your axles and wind down your wheels.
04:58Bash looked around.
05:00I'd like to stay here.
05:03Then a herd of cows chewed and mooed. Bash was scared. He'd never seen cows.
05:12Blistering boilers?
05:16And Bash huffed away in a hurry.
05:19Not to worry, Bash. I've another idea.
05:25Toby and Bash rolled and raced.
05:28I'll find a place for Bash to rest. I'll search high and low till I find the best.
05:36Toby and Bash huffed to a halt.
05:40Here you are, Bash. I'm sure this is the best place for you to steam to sleep. It's as pretty as my home.
05:48But Bash wasn't sure at all.
05:51From the top of the cliff he could see Dash and Ferdinand. Bash whooshed and wheeshed. He was very upset.
06:01Toby felt terrible.
06:04I haven't found Bash a place to rest. I haven't made Bash happy. I haven't looked after Bash at all.
06:14I want to go.
06:16Toby was about to answer Bash. Then he stopped.
06:21I must listen to Bash.
06:25I want to go. I want to go home.
06:32It's quiet at home. The woods are green. The birds sing. And my friends steam by my side.
06:45I was trying to tell you, Toby.
06:49Toby wheeshed wisely.
06:51I know now that you were.
06:54Suddenly, Toby pumped his pistons.
06:58Huff along, Bash. What are we waiting for?
07:02Bash was puzzled.
07:04Where are we going?
07:06We're going to Misty Island. We're going!
07:10Toby and Bash rattled into the Misty Island tunnel.
07:17Toby led. Bash clickety clacked.
07:24I know the place for Bash to rest. We'll puff there fast. It'll be the best.
07:32That made Bash smile.
07:37Thank you, Toby. You listen to me. You're my new friend. I feel so happy.
07:46Toby's bell jingled with joy.
07:50Huff your hardest, Bash. We've no time to lose.
07:56Bash and Toby rattled and raced.
08:00The boilers were bubbling. They were red in the face.
08:05The pistons were pumping. The wheels didn't stop.
08:10Then Bash saw his friends and they cheered at the top of their voices.
08:17Hello! Hello!
08:21Listen, Toby.
08:24The engines hushed. The birds sang.
08:29It's just like ours, though, and it's...
08:34Home!
08:36That's right!
