00:00It had been raining hard for weeks. Toby was feeling miserable. Everywhere was wet, wet, wet.
00:10His branch line runs through a village. The water in the river had risen with the rain.
00:16Only the great wall, known as a dam, was stopping the water from overflowing.
00:22Percy arrived just as Toby was about to inspect the dam for any damage.
00:27Driver tells me it may be dangerous up there. Please be careful, Toby, said Percy.
00:33I'll try, replied Toby bravely.
00:36Percy watched anxiously as Toby trundled away.
00:42His journey took him over a wooden bridge at the end of the village. The river surged dangerously beneath it.
00:51Harold Helicopter was inspecting the dam as Toby arrived.
00:56Be brave, Toby, called his driver. We have to cross to the other side.
01:01The dam did not look safe at all.
01:06Toby was very worried and soon he knew why.
01:11The dam's breaking up. We must warn everyone.
01:19Toby shunted back as fast as his wheels would let him.
01:27Percy was waiting anxiously for Toby by the bridge.
01:31The river had risen so high that the bridge was in danger of collapsing.
01:35Toby arrived.
01:38The dam's breaking up. We must find high ground, shouted Toby's driver.
01:44Your only chance is to cross the bridge, called Percy.
01:48It doesn't look safe to me.
01:50Well, Toby, it's our only chance, said his driver, if the dam breaks we'll be done for.
02:05Toby was halfway across the bridge when disaster struck.
02:25Help, called Toby.
02:40We'd follow him on our line. It meets the river further down.
02:55As Toby floated helplessly on the floodwaters, they passed a sign that made them shudder.
03:01Beware the waterfall.
03:03If we go over that waterfall, we're doomed.
03:08Then they saw Harold, who swooped low and shouted urgently to them.
03:14We're going to drop a rope to you. Attach it to yourself, quickly now.
03:22And they did, to one of Toby's buffers.
03:25Just then, Percy arrived. Harold flew over to him.
03:39Catch the rope and pull Toby to safety.
04:01Toby was safe at last.
04:06When the floods were over and the dam mended, the villagers had a big party for Toby, hosted by the Fat Controller.
04:14You were very brave, Toby.
04:16Thanks to Harold, sir, Toby replied.
04:20I could never have been so brave, Toby.
04:23Oh, I'm sure you would be, but you never know till you've tried.
04:27Percy rather hoped he'd never have to.
