00:00What finally pushed this CD-LAM deal over the top?
00:19Why did it finally get done now?
00:21The calendar?
00:22I mean, isn't that as good as any reason, right?
00:26I don't know how much like there was movement in the last couple of days, sure, that got
00:29a closer to what CD wanted.
00:32But I think the Cowboys knew you have to get him in this week to make sure he can be fully
00:38ready to go for Cleveland.
00:40We'll see if training camp matters at all, when a guy's going to have, what, six and
00:44a half practices, I guess, before the season opener.
00:47But I would probably say the calendar played as much of a part in this thing as anything
00:54else on both sides.
00:55I'm sure CD was looking to get here as well and didn't want to go to California for a
01:00meaningless week of training camp.
01:02And they just decided, let's really hammer this thing when they get back for that last
01:06preseason game.
01:07Did the Joneses win or lose anything by waiting?
01:13I don't think they lost anything because CD was not going to do a deal before Justin Jefferson,
01:20right?
01:21So none of that mattered.
01:23I guess I saw someone tweeted that Cowboys could have got this done for $20 million last
01:27year.
01:28Well, they offered him $25 million last year, and that didn't happen.
01:30So that's a false statement.
01:33So no, this and his agent, Torrey Dandy, knows this market better than anybody because he's
01:39had guys like AJ Brown, the guys that have helped form this market.
01:43So we knew where it was going.
01:44So they weren't in a rush to do it.
01:46I don't think the Cowboys lost anything by, quote, waiting, just because, again, I hate
01:55the Parrot Cherries line, and Stephen's line.
01:58It takes two sides to get a deal done.
02:01And if they weren't going to do it until the Jefferson deal, that's what they needed to
02:05have happen.
02:06Now, when did Jefferson sign?
02:08May?
02:09June?
02:10Whatever.
02:11Could it have done before August 26th?
02:13Yeah, it could have been.
02:16You know, that time frame.
02:17But that didn't really cost the Cowboys any cap space or cash space, in my view.
