00:00Kyle, obviously important to bounce back from the FA Cup defeat on Tuesday and did that
00:07today with two unanswered goals and very much job done.
00:11Yeah, it was. The boys were professional in their work. We had a real, real bright start
00:18to the game, a really bright start to the game, which we asked for. We asked for a little
00:22bit of a response, a little bit of a bounce back from Tuesday evening. It was a tough
00:26night on Tuesday, albeit we lost to the side that played very, very well, Felix Doerr,
00:30very, very good. But look, we're not going to let our indifferent performance on Tuesday
00:38define us as a group. We've been really, really good for nine, ten months. The boys have been
00:42fantastic and they went about their business in the best possible manner today. We had
00:46a real, real good start. Then we had the little break with an unfortunate incident in amongst
00:51the crowd. As a club, we send them our best wishes. Then it took a little bit of a dip
00:58after that. We got into that half-time and spoke about a few things. Then in the second
01:01half, we were professional enough in real tricky conditions. Like you said, we scored
01:06two good goals, two well-worked goals. The first one was an own goal though, Joe White
01:12I think is trying to claim it. Then we saw out the game well enough. So it was a good
01:18bounce back from Tuesday.
01:19Yes, sure. A first goal from Mikey Davis as well, which is nice.
01:23Yes, he was the best player on the pitch today, Mikey. He's brand new into the group. He's
01:29come in throughout pre-season. We're asking him to play in a position that he's played
01:34a couple of times before but never really played in this shape before. So it's new to
01:38him. He's picked it up really, really well. Like I said, his performance throughout the
01:42whole game today was a real standout for us and he deservedly so. He got the man of the match.
01:47Yes, sure. Obviously, you go again on Monday, going back to Felix Day, where you suffered
01:52that 4-0 defeat. Felix Day lost today, you won. It should be an interesting one.
01:58Yes, you get those indifferent results early part of the season. Lads still aren't at full
02:05tilt. There's still lads coming in the door. It takes that little bit of time for groups
02:12to blend so we won't read too much into their results and I'm sure they won't with ours.
02:17But look, it's a great opportunity. You can see it as pros and cons. You can see it as
02:23going back to a place where we just took an absolute hiding as a bit of a daunting task.
02:28But knowing our group as I do, it won't be the case. We'll go there with the best intentions,
02:34play with a good intensity and hopefully get to a far better result than we did on Tuesday.
02:41Just a last word. Theo Carter, first full competitive start for the club and seemed
02:47to do well in the middle of midfield.
02:49Really well. He very deserved his opportunity. He's a great lad, quite a quiet boy. But it's
02:58amazing. We've all been there, we've played with people that are like that off the field
03:03but as soon as he crosses the white line he's got that little bit of a grit. Very, very
03:08comfortable in possession, really disciplined, goes about his work in a nice manner and he's
03:13deserved his chance. He's been brilliant throughout pre-season, his season last season with the
03:17under-18s, under-23s, training every time with us. He's thoroughly deserved it and I'm
03:21delighted for him because he had a real good game.
03:24Thank you very much for speaking to us.
03:25No problem, thank you.
