PH records $62-M BOP surplus, GIR level hit $106.7-B in July

00:00The country recorded an overall balance of payments or BOP surplus of 62 million dollars
00:05last month. This is higher than the 53 million dollars recorded in the same period last year.
00:11This surplus was driven by inflows from the Banco Central ng Pilipinas or BSP investments abroad
00:18and the national government's foreign currency deposits. The BOP surplus stands at 1.5 billion
00:24in the first seven months, down from 2.2 billion dollars in January to July 2023.
00:30Meanwhile, Gross International Reserves or GIR level increased to 106.7 billion dollars,
00:37providing strong external liquidity coverage.
