00:00More than 7,000 passengers across the country are stranded,
00:04especially since ships are still not allowed to sail
00:06across the country due to Hurricane Christine.
00:11This is the story of Claycel Pardilla.
00:15Due to the continuous rain, strong waves,
00:18and the ongoing threat of Hurricane Christine,
00:21the Philippine Ports Authority suspended ships' travel
00:25across the country.
00:27More than 7,313 passengers are stranded,
00:32most of whom are in Bicol and Samar.
00:35We have 14 ports which are currently experiencing
00:37the effects of the storm.
00:39There are no trips as of this day.
00:42We request that the passengers monitor the situation
00:46and not proceed to the terminals.
00:48The PPA and DSWD rejected the distribution of hot meals
00:53and food packs to affected passengers.
00:57The PPA is investigating who is responsible
01:01for the two ships that sank off the coast of Batangas.
01:05The ships were anchored but were hit by strong waves.
01:09One of the captains of the ships was missing in action
01:12when the incident happened that was against the PPA's will.
01:17Meanwhile, the National Power Corporation
01:21denied that the loss of water in a large dam in Luzon
01:27caused the San Roque Dam in Pangasinan
01:30to produce 52 cubic meters per second of water.
01:33Tomorrow, half a meter of the Kambuklao and Diga Dam
01:37in the province of Benguet will be filled.
01:39We anticipate that a large rainfall will hit the dam
01:44and will not only collect our dams.
01:47The releases that are being made here are very controlled
01:51and will definitely not cause floods.
01:54Residents are still being told to be careful and to be alert.
01:58Kalei Zalpardilla for Pambansang TV in Bagong, Philippines.
