00:00Kelantan UMNO Youth Chief Mohd Azmawi Fikri Abdul Ghani on Sunday visited the Sungai Asap
00:06community to thank the voters after winning the Nanggiri state by-election.
00:12Azmawi stunned Mohd Rizwadi Ismail of Perikatan National in a straight fight in Saturday's
00:17by-election, with a 3,352 majority.
00:23The win means the unity government coalition of Barisan National and Pakatan Harapan now
00:28holds three seats against Perikatan's 42 seats in the Kelantan Legislative Assembly.
00:35For the first time, the incumbent party had lost to a challenger since the 15th general
00:40election in 2022.
00:42Azmawi said the victory is not just a moment of celebration, but it also means responsibility
00:48given to him to deliver the best service to the people.
00:52This is beyond my control.
00:54From the beginning, I was aware that we started by losing by 810 votes.
01:01This is something I did not expect at all.
01:05From now on, I will represent all the people of Nanggiri and I promise to be helpful to
01:12all of them, regardless of political colour.
01:16I think I must be brave enough to represent all of them.
01:21He attributed the win to the trust of young voters and an effective campaign through social
01:26media and physical contact.
01:29He said his team did not make any empty promises, but rather focusing on engagement with the
01:35voters during their campaigning period.
