Nenggiri polls: Straight fight between Barisan and Perikatan

It is a straight fight between Barisan Nasional's Mohd Azmawi Fikri Abdul Ghani and Mohd Rizwadi Ismail of Perikatan Nasional for the Nenggiri by-election.

This by-election is being held as the seat was declared vacant by Kelantan state assembly speaker Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah on June 19, following Mohd Azizi Abu Naim’s expulsion from Bersatu on June 13.

00:54In the 15th Kelantan State election last year,
00:57Mohamad Azizi contested under a PAS ticket
01:00and defeated Barisan National candidate Abdul Aziz Yusof
01:04by a majority of 810 votes.
01:07The Election Commission has set the polling day on August 17th.
01:11Early voting scheduled for August 13th
01:14will not be held as all 14 involved opted for postal voting.
01:18The electoral roll for Nenggiri State constituency
01:21has 20,259 electors
01:25comprising 20,245 ordinary voters
01:29and 14 police personnel.
01:32The state seat has been contested five times since 2004
01:35with four won by Barisan National
01:37and the most recent by Mohamad Azizi.
