Sg Bakap polls: Perikatan retains state seat

Perikatan Nasional retained the Sungai Bakap state seat in a by-election on Saturday (July 6) with its candidate Abidin Ismail.  Abidin, the Nibong Tebal PAS vice-chief, secured a majority of 4,267 votes, receiving 14,489 votes compared to Pakatan Harapan candidate Dr. Joohari Ariffin, who garnered 10,222 votes.
