00:00Hello, a fine Friday for most places and you know what, the decent weather is going to
00:06last for most of us into the weekend.
00:08Temperatures around average and most places seeing sunny spells.
00:11Thursday ended with the weather front sitting over the UK bringing quite a bit of wet weather
00:16but through the night that's been trickling away to the south and leaving behind it quite
00:21a bit of sunshine.
00:22There are still showers across the northwest of Scotland and they will keep going through
00:26the day.
00:27The Highlands, the Western Isles and the Northern Isles quite gusty here as well still.
00:31The odd shower for southern Scotland, Northern Ireland but they should tend to zip through
00:35and most places here dry.
00:37And certainly the vast majority across England and Wales looking good out there this afternoon.
00:42Dry and fine, yes some cloud here and there but some decent spells of sunshine.
00:46The heat and humidity has been pushed away by that weather front.
00:49We'll still get up to 24, 25 degrees across the southeast.
00:54Maybe further west though a little cooler with temperatures getting into the high teens
00:58around coasts.
00:59And feeling cool with that gusty wind across the far northwest which will continue to throw
01:03showers in here as we go through the night.
01:06If anything the winds likely to pick up a little bit during the night across northern
01:09Scotland.
01:10So quite a blustery night here.
01:12The odd shower maybe still through the central belt and across northern parts of Northern
01:15Ireland possibly into Cumbria too but for most of England and Wales dry and clear and
01:22light winds.
01:23And that combination means it will actually be quite a bit cooler than it has been for
01:27many a night.
01:28Certainly over eastern areas temperatures in rural spots likely to dip down to single
01:32figures towns and cities at 11 or 12 Celsius.
01:35So a cooler start to Saturday but a good looking day.
01:39Yes there will be some cloud developing and still possibly one or two showers over Cumbria
01:44and western Scotland.
01:46Certainly northern Scotland seeing a few showers and still quite breezy here but for the majority
01:52it's going to be dry and fine.
01:53Come the afternoon well the middle of the day really northern Ireland southern Scotland
01:57seeing one or two showers moving through.
01:59But again most places won't see them.
02:02Sunny spells across the south and the east lifting the temperatures into the low 20s
02:0723 24 in and around the capital.
02:09Most places a little lower than that so high teens low 20s but feeling pleasant I suspect
02:14when the sun is out and it'll be a fine Saturday evening if you've got plans heading out.
02:19Still a few scattered showers across parts of Scotland particularly so in the south
02:23and the far north where it will still be quite breezy thanks to an approaching weather fronts
02:29and low pressure systems up towards Iceland.
02:31But for most places we're being influenced by a ridge of high pressure out in the Atlantic
02:36and that's going to keep things fine into Sunday.
02:39Yes we will see again more showers over the highlands and the western isles but most places
02:44elsewhere dry and fine.
02:45Some cloud bubbling up through the day it's not going to be crystal clear blue skies all
02:49day but there'll be sunny spells for most places and generally the winds will be pretty
02:54light certainly for England and Wales.
02:56And so when the sun's out feels pretty pleasant with temperatures into the low 20s again further
03:01north more likely mid to high teens.
03:04So as I said all in all a fine weekend there will be some showers across northwest Scotland.
