00:00Walking into J.B.'s down for the first time felt like stepping into a time machine that had been set to chaos.
00:06The moment I crossed the threshold I was greeted by a wall of sound that could only be described as a sonic assault.
00:13It was like someone had taken a blender, thrown in a few guitars, a drum kit, and a whole lot of angst and hit puree.
00:21I was immediately struck by the sight of Mohawks that defied gravity and leather jackets that looked like they had survived a small fire.
00:30I thought I was prepared for the punk rock experience, but nothing could have prepared me for the sheer volume of the bass.
00:38I could feel it in my bones, like my internal organs were having a dance party without my consent.
00:44I tried to look cool, but I was pretty sure I was just standing there, wide-eyed, like a deer caught in the headlights of a speeding tour bus.
00:52The bar was a whole other adventure.
00:55I approached with the confidence of someone who had never ordered a drink in their life.
01:00What's good here?
01:02I asked the bartender, who looked like he had just walked off the set of a horror movie.
01:07He smirked and handed me something that looked like it had been brewed in a garage.
01:12It's called punk juice.
01:14I took a sip, and I swear I could feel my taste buds filing for a restraining order.
01:20As the bands took the stage, I realized I had unwittingly signed up for a crash course in headbanging.
01:26I tried to blend in, but I ended up looking like a confused bobblehead.
01:30By the end of the night, I had lost my voice, my dignity, and possibly a shoe.
01:36But I left JB's down with a heart full of laughter and a newfound appreciation for the beautiful madness of punk rock.
