00:00Welcome back everyone it is Amelia I hope you are fine.
00:09The perfect villain for Marvel Studios' potential Moon Knight season 2 in the MCU may have already
00:15been set up in the series' first season.
00:17Moon Knight premiered on Disney Plus in March 2022 and introduced audiences to Oscar Isaac's
00:23Mark Spector, a mercenary with dissociative identity disorder who also happens to be the
00:29host of the Egyptian God of the Moon, Khoshu.
00:31Khoshu grants Spector impressive abilities as the vigilant Moon Knight and these helped
00:36Spector take on Ethan Hawke's Arthur Harrow during Phase 4's Moon Knight but the series
00:41left the future of Mark Spector and his alters uncertain.
00:45In March 2024, Marvel Studios revealed that Moon Knight's complete first season will be
00:51released on 4K UHD and Blu-ray, with this wording suggesting that there may be a Moon
00:56Knight season 2 in the works.
00:58There hasn't yet been any official confirmation from Marvel Studios but potential storylines
01:03for Moon Knight season 2 have already been set up.
01:06Most notably, Phase 4's Moon Knight ended with the mysterious Jake Lockley, Spector's
01:11third alter, assassinating Arthur Harrow and Amit, setting himself up as a potential villain
01:17for Moon Knight season 2.
01:18But another powerful adversary might have also been teased.
01:21One of Moon Knight's most persistent adversaries in Marvel Comics is Shadow Knight, the alter
01:26ego of Mark Spector's estranged brother, Randall.
01:30Randall Spector was originally introduced in 1979's Hulk magazine No. 17 as a hatchet-wielding
01:36serial killer whom Moon Knight battles following a string of killings aimed at nurses.
01:41Moon Knight and Randall's hatchet-men duel in Central Park with this part ending in Randall's
01:46apparent demise.
01:47However, Marvel later revealed this version of Randall to be an imposter with implanted
01:52memories as the real Randall Spector arrived in 1992's Mark Spector, Moon Knight No. 37
01:59with similar abilities to his brother.
02:01Randall Spector mysteriously returned as the evil Shadow Knight, a member of the cult of
02:05Koshu who believed himself to be the next avatar to the titular Egyptian deity.
02:10Randall had become empowered by the Egyptian princess Nephthys, gifting him impenetrable
02:15skin and superhuman strength, and allowing him to fire radioactive blasts from his eyes.
02:21This made him a more significant threat to Mark Spector's Moon Knight, though the powerful
02:25Sapphire Crescent helped Mark defeat his brother.
02:28Shadow Knight would make a fantastic villain for Moon Knight's season 2.
02:32Many of the villains featured in previous Marvel Studios projects have been dark opposites
02:37of the MCU's superheroes.
02:39This includes The Abomination, The Red Skull, Kaecilius and Killmonger.
02:43And Shadow Knight fits this brief perfectly for Moon Knight.
02:46Forging the long-thoughted Randall Spector into a supervillain would also bring a more
02:51personal, grounded narrative to Mark Spector's MCU story, similarly to Thor's long-running
02:56feud with Loki.
02:58Which would not only help to better explain Koshu and the Egyptian pantheon, but also
03:03delve deeper into Mark's own side, and make Moon Knight's season 2 even more powerful
03:07than the original season.
