Avdhan means siddhi (powers). One gains it because of a highly developed chit and intellect in a particular direction. Memory is different from Avdhan, it is based on Raag-Dwesh, attachment - hatred. As one moves ahead on the spiritual path, Avdhan (Siddhi- powers) are gained.
