00:00Oh, to think I once considered them my...
00:08What?
00:10What have I done?
00:11Welcome to Mojo Plays. Today, we're looking at the hardest mission in every Assassin's Creed game.
00:18Which AC mission made you rage quit?
00:30For this list, we're starting with the newest games and ending with the oldest.
00:34Because the older games are significantly harder and more annoying.
00:38The shroud is in a chest that matches the key. Find it and bring it to me.
00:42Before we begin, we publish new content all week long.
00:45So, be sure to subscribe and ring the bell to get notified about our latest videos.
00:53Jailbreak, Assassin's Creed Mirage.
00:56It had a unique pattern, you see. One I stitched together with my father when I was just a boy.
01:03This is the first big stealth mission in Mirage.
01:06But it's also one of the trickiest since it's even harder to avoid suspicion
01:11sneaking into a prison than sneaking into most other places.
01:14Basim is sent into Damascus Gate prison to free Ali ibn Muhammad, the leader of the local rebels.
01:21Ali is being held deep in the bowels of the prison.
01:24It takes a long time to navigate the maze-like tunnels and find him.
01:28Once he's freed, there's a scripted moment when, while trying to break into the guards' quarters,
01:33the game will spawn new enemies on top of you.
01:36This is all to explain why they're holding off the guards in the subsequent cutscene.
01:41But it's definitely frustrating.
01:44Hurry!
01:45I have it!
01:46Take it to Roshan, my master.
01:48She is with your rebels at the Watermaid Throne Room.
01:51I will slow the guards.
01:52Storming the walls.
01:53Assassin's Creed Valhalla
01:55You will die today, Fulke.
01:57But your men may live if you come here to me and settle this alone.
02:03We have nothing to settle.
02:05Die on these walls if you will.
02:08It is your choice.
02:09The newer Assassin's Creed games have definitely gotten easier in some regards
02:13and trickier yet in others.
02:15They've now got true boss fights that don't rely on puzzles
02:19and while some of those fights are great, others aren't worth the effort.
02:22This mandatory fight against Fulke is particularly difficult.
02:26But unlike bosses like the Daughters of Lerion, it's not really because it's supposed to be.
02:35Keep fighting, men.
02:36I'll take care of the game.
02:39It's difficult because you're trying to raid and storm a castle
02:43while also fighting Fulke, who will pursue Eivor and Eivor alone.
02:47She's also a damage sponge and if you're not overleveled,
02:51it can take a while to get through a fight that doesn't change or do anything interesting.
02:57It's a real test of your patience.
03:00That is my victory.
03:02And you will go with me to the grave.
03:09The Goddess's Hunt
03:11Assassin's Creed Odyssey
03:13When you put it like that, how could I not accept?
03:16There's a boar not too far from here.
03:18Kill it, then bring me its pelt.
03:20Early in Odyssey, you'll encounter Daphne of Phokis, a huntress with the Daughters of Artemis,
03:26who gives you a quest to travel Greece and slay various mythical creatures.
03:31These aren't the mythical Isu experiments you need to beat for the story,
03:35but famous beasts from elsewhere in mythology, like the Cretan Bull and the Nemean Lion.
03:41And while some of the bosses are relatively easy, like the Giant Stag,
03:46others are the bane of AC players everywhere.
03:50Specifically, the two boars.
03:53Though, for our money, the Caledonian Boar is the worst of them.
03:57It's annoying and it will repeatedly spawn regular boars to also attack you.
04:02It's so notorious, it's had many players lowering the difficulty by the minute.
04:08Lucius Septimius, Assassin's Creed Origins.
04:19Finally, a mission that's hard because it's designed well, instead of being designed terribly.
04:26The Caledonian Boar is the worst of them all.
04:28It's a boss that's hard to beat, but it's also a boss that's easy to beat.
04:33It's a mission that's hard because it's designed well, instead of being designed terribly.
04:38Under the name The Jackal, Septimius is the most intimidating member of the order
04:42that Bayek and Aya dedicate their lives to defeating, following the murder of their son.
04:47And it's Aya, not Bayek, who gets to fight him that last time and finally defeat him.
04:58He's fast and his attacks have a surprising amount of range.
05:02And it can be tricky to learn his attack pattern when he has so many moves to utilize.
05:07Eventually though, you'll triumph in the most cathartic boss fight of the whole game.
05:21A thorn in the side, Assassin's Creed Syndicate.
05:33Of all the stealth assassinations in Syndicate,
05:36taking out Evie's nemesis, Lucy Thorne, might be the worst.
05:40For this mission, you're spirited away to a new and enclosed map, the Tower of London.
05:46And you can't leave until you've done the deed.
05:49And as it's the Tower of London, it's full of guards,
05:52both royal and Templar, and will not take kindly to you wandering around.
06:02How dare you!
06:03It's long and annoying to unlock the unique assassination opportunities.
06:08Plus, as it's a brand new area, you've also got to get your bearings.
06:12And finally, when you do reach Lucy Thorne, she's just as obnoxious as always.
06:19Typical of the Assassins.
06:25The Tournament, Assassin's Creed Unity.
06:28Remember, you must collect the flags quickly to qualify for the next event.
06:33Begin!
06:34One big selling point of Unity at the time,
06:37though it wasn't clear that any of the fans were asking for this,
06:40was that it supported up to four-player co-op.
06:43As such, it's got co-op missions littered across the map,
06:47including one called the Tournament,
06:49where you have to do a parkour route to collect flags and then win at a fight.
06:54Everybody ready!
06:57On guard!
07:06You're supposed to have four players to do this,
07:09but if you try to do it solo, it's easily the hardest thing in the entire game.
07:15And unfortunately, given Unity's age and the fact it still ran poorly up until very recently,
07:21you're going to struggle to find anyone to do co-op with.
07:25That means if you want to complete the game,
07:27you're almost definitely going to have to solo this mission.
07:49Rogue is in general an underrated entry in the series.
07:53True fans stand by it,
07:54but you'll find plenty of people who just never got around to picking it up.
07:58This one mission, however, might make you want to throw down your controller in rage,
08:03as it's unanimously agreed to be the worst part of the whole game.
08:15The Storm Fortress is one of the legendary ships,
08:18easily the hardest Shay has to fight.
08:20It's a towering beast with a huge health bar,
08:24capable of doing massive damage if it rams you.
08:27Worst, once you whittle away enough of its health,
08:30it'll summon two more giant mana wars to come after you,
08:34meaning you have to fight them as well.
08:36At that point, it's just cruel.
08:51But what if you had to do a tailing mission while sailing a pirate ship?
08:55Somebody at Ubisoft thought that was a good idea,
08:58and they built this mission where Kenway needs to steer the Jackdaw through a swamp
09:03to tail another boat.
09:21It takes forever, and even the characters point out that it's a ridiculous and terrible idea,
09:28so who knows why it was kept in the game.
09:30You've also got to periodically leave the Jackdaw to take out guards on land,
09:35and getting full sink requires you to skin a bunch of crocodiles for some reason.
09:40Battle of the Chesapeake, Assassin's Creed III.
09:44Lafayette promised me a fleet beyond compare and a captain without fear.
09:48Instead, I find myself greeted by one old ship in a buoyant costume.
09:55I promise we are all you need, Admiral.
09:57It may have been the first game in the franchise to offer a game like this,
10:01but it's a game that's been around for a long time.
10:03It's a game that's been around for a long time,
10:06but it's a game that's been around for a long time.
10:08It may have been the first game in the franchise to offer the series' famous naval combat,
10:13but it definitely wasn't working at its best here.
10:16That's what makes this mission so difficult,
10:19especially if you're wanting that coveted 100% synchronization.
10:32If you're doing that, you have to destroy all the ships with just one broadside,
10:37not only that, but friendly fire is a big issue here,
10:41as there are many allied ships also in the water.
10:44Those ships definitely won't help with the fight,
10:46but they will get in the way when you're trying to win the battle for the Patriots.
10:58The Champion Part II, Assassin's Creed Revelations.
11:02That same brute has now set his sights on the printer's father, a local herald.
11:07A cruel way to draw his real target out into the open, no?
11:11Daily missions are bad enough, but escort missions in Assassin's Creed might be even worse.
11:17The assassins need to defend a guy from an angry Templar who,
11:20for some reason, really has it out for him.
11:23You have to defend him from a group of enemies,
11:25and for full sync, he's not allowed to lose any health.
11:33I have nothing to do with it.
11:36But even if you're not going for full sync,
11:38he has such little health that it's all too easy for him to get hurt and die.
11:43Combine that with a large number of civilians running around
11:46threatening Ezio with desynchronization if he's not careful, you've got a doozy.
11:51Words can wound like any blade, amigo.
11:53Ezio, I think we are being watched.
11:55In and Out, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood.
12:06Oh.
12:07We know you were expecting to see the tank again,
12:10but if you're not going for 100% sync, the tank mission isn't quite as bad as this one.
12:15Ezio needs to assassinate another of the Borchas,
12:18this time a hedonist called the Banker who's hosting a lavish party in the Roman ruins.
12:25I've never been to Castellar before.
12:28The old ruins make me nervous.
12:31The problem is that you need to take an extremely specific route
12:35through the ruins to avoid getting detected.
12:38And as this is an older game, detection means instant desynchronization.
12:43You'll be trying over and over again to do the level in exactly the way Ubisoft wants you to,
12:50without any actual indication from them what that way is.
12:54It's trial and error in the worst way.
12:57The things I have felt, seen, and tasted, I do not regret a moment of it.
13:04Port Authority, Assassin's Creed 2.
13:08Savonarola will lead us into a new era, one of fraternity, equality, and justice.
13:15If your assassination targets are particularly isolated,
13:18it can be very difficult to reach them without being detected.
13:22That's the big issue with this game,
13:25That's the big issue with this mission in Assassin's Creed 2,
13:28that you have to assassinate a merchant on a large ship.
13:41There are guards everywhere and he monologues the entire time,
13:45which will really throw you off at first.
13:48Thankfully, Ubisoft didn't program the assassination target to react to the sound of gunshots,
13:53so you can use the gun to cheese it if it's proving too annoying to do legitimately.
13:58Anything to get him to stop talking.
14:18In truth, most of the assassination missions can be difficult in the very first game,
14:23because Ubisoft was still finding its feet.
14:26Though they were all set up for interesting kill opportunities,
14:29it could be tricky to get close without alerting a dozen guards.
14:32The same is true here, when you need to take out Sebring.
14:36What makes this so tedious is that Sebring is a coward,
14:40and if Altair is spotted, which he probably will be,
14:42because this is the very first game and it plays like that, he'll run away.
14:46He's on the docks though, so this means you have to do a very tricky platforming run
14:51to follow him without falling into the water, which is instant death.
14:55Why did you never learn to swim, Altair?
