00:00Meanwhile, the Justice Department is studying another complaint against the owners of three motor tankers in Bataan that spilled oil.
00:08Darlene Cai was caught red-handed.
00:10More than 100 bags of garbage were taken by Coast Guard, DNR, Municipio and other volunteers on the second day of coastal clean-up in San Rafael, Noveleta, Cavite.
00:23They will check the garbage thoroughly to see if there's oil in it, just like the garbage that was taken in Tanzac, Cavite this Wednesday.
00:30According to DNR, the national standard for oil and grease content in water is 2 mg per liter.
00:36But the oil in the water sample from Navotas was up to 7 mg per liter on July 30.
00:43Next is high in Bulacan, Bulacan and Rosario, Batangas.
00:47The standard that was taken in Manila, Pasay and Las Piñas, Cavite boundary is also higher.
00:52But according to DNR, it's not yet clear if those came from Terra Nova.
00:57The Philippine Coast Guard and the DOST are working on what we call fingerprinting
01:02so that we can say if the actual source of the oil contamination in these particular areas that have exceedance came from Terra Nova.
01:14The incident is not over.
01:16In Barangay Lamau, Salimay, Bataan, the standard for oil content is higher compared to July 26.
01:23If we're talking about fish, petrochemicals contaminated the fish caught in Noveleta and Rosario, Cavite
01:31based on the sensory evaluation of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources or BFAR.
01:35But this was before oil slicks were found in the area.
01:39The fish samples from Cavite City and the towns of Tanza and Naic were not found.
01:44We stopped harvesting fish in the areas where oil slicks were found to avoid food poisoning.
01:56Because of the three successive accidents of motor tankers in MD Terra Nova,
02:00MKTR Jason Bradley and MD Merola 1 in Bataan, there should be a case according to the Interior Department.
02:07There really needs to be a case.
02:09This is a great, not only a health hazard for everyone, we review procedures.
02:13Why is this happening?
02:14It's like a lot of things are sinking.
02:16Let's squeeze it.
02:17The Justice Department is now studying the complaint filed against the owners of the ship
02:22and other persons responsible for the incident.
02:25A crime was committed against our people and our environment.
02:29All three are interconnected, we believe.
02:33The first two vessels especially.
02:34We have nothing to lose here.
02:36The owners of Terra Nova are still not giving up.
02:39While we are still trying to get the statement of the owners of the other two ships.
02:44For GMA Integrated News, Darlene Cai, Nakatutok, 24 Hours.
02:50In the latest text of the company owned by the motor tanker Terra Nova,
02:53it said that they will not answer their questions first.
02:57They will send the questions to the Media Relations Company.
