Transcript
00:00Hi everyone, my name's Jack Marshall and welcome once again to the latest video in our LP Eats
00:10review series.
00:11Now, as we all know, we're on the hunt for the top burgers in Preston.
00:15We've been to loads of locations so far, we've been to really swanky, cheap places like Boo
00:19on Cheapside and in the Flag Market we've been to really kind of like proper rough and
00:23ready takeaways like the Burger Hut.
00:27Yeah, we've just tried a nice kind of different spectrum of places so far so we're going to
00:32be keeping on that note and today we'll be visiting somewhere in the city centre called
00:37Iceberg.
00:38Now, somewhere a little bit different, never really kind of heard of this place before
00:41but it came up in a few recommendations, it's got really good reviews online, looking pretty
00:45cool, looks like one of those kind of modern places which does have burgers and shakes,
00:48that kind of vibe, kind of leaning on that American diner atmosphere and kind of menu.
00:54So yeah, really looking forward to this one, just going to head over there now, come and
00:58join me and we'll see what we can find.
00:59Cheers!
01:00Welcome back to our LPE's review of Iceberg.
01:25Now, when I left here I'd just done kind of a preamble explaining where I was going, heading
01:30into Iceberg to try it, grabbed a burger, had a bash, come back ready to do my review.
01:35Now yeah, my first impressions of this place and the whole vibe of the place, really nice
01:40decor, nice high ceilings, really cool location right in the middle of town, just off Church
01:45Street in the middle of Preston, great location.
01:47It was dead busy as well, that's what I noticed, loads of people in there so that was really
01:51good to see, obviously a very popular kind of place so that was good.
01:55Yeah, the staff were really helpful, it was cool in there, the only thing I'm going to
01:58slightly mark them down on in the vibe was like, slightly lack of table space, I didn't
02:02kind of get a table, I had to sit on like a side bar area but that was fine, it was
02:06okay, steady away.
02:09So yeah, that was all good, moving on to the actual food itself.
02:13Now the burger was dead simple but you don't need anything fancy with a burger, it has
02:19to be a good meat, good sauce, good moisture, the job was a good one.
02:22Now this thing was understated but blew me away, it was a brilliant burger, really, really
02:27good quality.
02:28The meat itself, really nicely seasoned, really juicy, really tasty, great flavour, proper
02:33beefiness, proper kind of like meaty flavour to it, which you'd be surprised, some burgers
02:38really do lack that so that was good.
02:40I'm giving that a 4.5 out of 5, the only thing I'm marking it down, could have been slightly
02:44thicker but that's the only qualm, it was great, really, really good, top notch burger.
02:48Onto the moisture, the moisture was a 5 out of 5, perfection, cannot improve on that.
02:53The sauce was good, the cheese was good, the beefiness was good, the juiciness of the actual
02:57meat was good, the bread was kind of like that brioche which soaked it up so that was
03:01a nice, it was just, it was a great mouthful, which sounds a bit hoity-toity and like I'm
03:06a, you know, like some fancy Michelin star food reviewer but it was just great, it was
03:11a really nice, nothing dry about it, bang on what you want from a juicy burger so that
03:15was brilliant, top scores on that front.
03:18Now extras, I'm going to give them a 3.5 out of 5 for the extras, they were like caramelised
03:24onions and some cheese on there and the sauce, the burger sauce was really, really good,
03:27the only thing it was lacking was, I don't know, this was just the burger so maybe a
03:31side of chips or something like that would have been good but, you know, just little
03:35bits, maybe a bit more salad, pickles slash gherkins, love those, yeah, it was good, just
03:41could have done with maybe more of certain things, the sauce was good, maybe a bit more
03:45cheese, it was good without being like, blow me away kind of great, the extras, so yeah,
03:513.5 out of 5 on that front and then finally we're coming on to the value, the burger itself
03:55was the original burger, 4oz, 4oz beef pies and it cost £6.25 which is pretty good value
04:02especially when you compare it to stuff like the Maccies, the Big Mac which cost £4.49
04:06so we're not talking much more and the quality was just like years ahead of anything you'll
04:11find at Maccies so yeah, pretty good on that front, I'm going to give them a 3.5 out of 5,
04:15the only qualm I have is like I say, it didn't really come with, I mean, ideally it would
04:21have been maybe slightly bigger, not by loads, just a tiny bit, maybe half a side of fries,
04:26something like that would have just topped it off and made it genuinely one of the best
04:29burgers in the city in terms of value for money in a lunchtime meal kind of thing so
04:34yeah, well impressed by Iceberg though, really cool place, really nice service,
04:37really, really good burger most importantly so well impressed with that, loved it,
04:42really enjoyed myself, yeah they get a total score of 20 out of 25 which is very, very
04:46respectable indeed so really enjoyed myself there and yeah, that's our review for Iceberg,
04:50stay tuned, we'll be heading to somewhere fresh and new next week so yeah, thank you very much.
