00:00The National Electoral Council of Venezuela proclaims and confirms the re-election of
00:16Nicolás Maduro as president of the South American nation.
00:24In Palestine, thousands of citizens were displaced from the Buraj camp in the center of Gaza
00:29three hours after the warning of a new bombing in the region.
00:36And in Pakistan, clashes between two tribes left dozens killed and 151 others injured
00:42after six consecutive days of fighting.
00:51Hello and welcome to From the South, I'm Alejandra Garcia from Telesur Studios in Havana, Cuba.
00:56We begin with the news.
01:09The National Electoral Council of Venezuela proclaims and confirms the re-election of
01:14Nicolás Maduro as president of the South American nation.
01:18After Sunday's victory, President Maduro arrived at the headquarters of the National
01:22Electoral Council to be proclaimed constitutional president for the period 2025-2031.
01:29In this regard, Elvis Amoroso, president of the Electoral Council, expressed that the
01:33Venezuelan electoral system is the best internationally, adding that the Venezuelan people express
01:38their will by means of the suffrage and that the sovereignty lies with the citizens as
01:44dictated by the constitution.
01:51The constitutional president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, received the credential from
01:55the electoral power for a new mandate for the 2025-2031 term.
02:00During his speech, he denounced a far-right led by cyber attack against the electoral
02:05system.
02:06A cyber attack is a hacking to the electoral transmission system, hindering the transmission
02:21of data to lead to an electoral blackout.
02:29They wanted to boost an electoral blackout to hinder the electoral results.
02:40In the face of the attacks and claims from the far-right backed by international forces,
02:45the re-elected president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, reaffirmed the Venezuelan people's
02:49determination to freedom and sovereignty.
02:53We are determined to be free, and as well as we have defeated you, we are going to defeat
03:02you once again.
03:04We are going to defend peace, tranquility, democracy, and the life of this Bolivarian
03:11revolution of this 21st century.
03:15We are going to defend it with constitution, with laws, with civic unity, with the mobilized
03:21people permanently.
03:25Meanwhile the Venezuelan Attorney General's office denounced the attempts of the extreme
03:29right to destabilize the outcome of the presidential elections.
03:32During the press conference, the Attorney General Tarek William Saab congratulated the
03:37Venezuelan people for participating in the election day in a peaceful manner without
03:41falling into provocations.
03:43Likewise, Tarek William Saab asserted that the opposition sought to perfect the hybrid
03:49war that started 25 years ago with the international spokesperson calling for bloodshed.
03:57And I want to congratulate the people of Venezuela that were able to combat all these attempts.
04:08So it has been the electoral referee, the electoral council, as I warned you several
04:14times that was the authority for saying who was the winner.
04:22The Attorney General of Venezuela also referred to the fact that the National Electoral Council
04:27will release the total results of the elections in the next few hours as a sign of the transparency
04:33of the process.
04:34And in the coming hours there will be available in the official website the results, a thorough
04:46analysis of the results of each polling station.
04:51This is what is valid, not a photocopy of what you intended to do in November.
05:03Meanwhile the President of Russia Vladimir Putin congratulated his Venezuelan counterpart
05:07Nicolás Maduro on his victory in the presidential elections.
05:11On a communiqué, Putin stressed,
05:13Russia and Venezuelan relations are based on a strategic partnership.
05:17I am sure that your activities as a head of state will continue to contribute to their
05:21progressive development in each area.
05:24Later, the head of state added,
05:26This full responds to the interests of our friendly peoples and is aligned with the construction
05:31of a fairer and more democratic world order.
05:34Finally, the President noted,
05:36I would like to confirm our readiness to continue our constructive joint work on current issues
05:42of the bilateral and international agenda.
05:45Bear in mind that you will always be a welcome guest on Russian soil.
05:55In Venezuela, former presidential candidate BenjamĂn Rauzo commented on the victory of
06:00the Venezuelan president-elect Nicolás Maduro.
06:05All of us who participated in this election submitted ourselves to the rules and to the
06:09referee who governed them.
06:14What we have to do now is to accept and abide by the verdict of the referee, who is the
06:19one who transmits the verdict of the people.
06:22Therefore, I endorse the decision of the National Electoral Council and congratulate the one
06:28whom the arbitrator has proclaimed as the winner.
06:33After the arbitrator pronounces his sentence, what we have to do is to turn the page of
06:37the election and start a new chapter, that of a reconciled Venezuela.
06:44Also, former presidential candidate Luis Eduardo MartĂnez urged Venezuelans to recognize the
06:50official results with peace and to forge a national dialogue.
06:54Peace, peace, peace.
07:00It is time for peace, peace forged in dialogue, reconciliation, understanding, peace consensus
07:08to get Venezuela out of the dramatic crisis in which it finds its reality.
07:13It is time to embrace each other as brothers to work together to be Venezuela.
07:19The best country in the world, honor to the vanquished, glory to the victor, AntĂłnio
07:23José de Sucre, great marshal.
07:27May God bless all Venezuelan families.
07:30Likewise, former opposition candidate José Brito acknowledged the presidential election's
07:36outcome.
07:40We have received the first bulletin which indicates that with 80% of the tallies there
07:44is a result.
07:46We have been coherent with our proposal from the moment we presented our name for consideration
07:50of the will of the Venezuelan people that we presented the proposal of Plan B.
07:55We also said that we would recognize it, not only the results, but also the call for peace
08:01for the peace of Venezuela.

08:16Welcome back.
08:21On Sunday, the President of Brazil, Luis Inácio Lula da Silva, highlighted the achievements
08:25of his administration after a year and a half in office.
08:28The head of state argued that during his term he has boosted the economic domestic growth,
08:33the control of inflation, the resumption of social programs and the return of the country
08:38to the international arena.
08:39Lula further reaffirmed his intention to continue investing in social projects so that the country
08:44can move forward for the sake of all Brazilian families and thus drastically reduce hunger
08:49and poverty in the country.

09:08Day against the genocidal blockade led by friends and nationals in various cities around
09:14the world.

09:24On Sunday, July 28th, the Cuban Patriotic Emigration in the United States once again
09:29protested at the Miami International Airport against the blockade of Cuba and the absurd
09:34list of nations sponsoring terrorism.
09:36Among the participating leaders were Cubans, Latin Americans and voices from the United
09:41States who defied the threats of the Miami ultra-right wing and gathered at the American
09:46Airlines Flight Terminal D, holding up signs, banners and flags of both nations.
09:52I'm here today because we have to speak out to the people of Miami and the world at this
10:02airport of the injustice of what the U.S. government is doing to the people of Cuba.
10:08By putting Cuba on a phony, immoral and illegal list of state sponsors of terror, by imposing
10:15240 sanctions, the Trump administration and now the Biden administration are creating
10:22great suffering, unnecessary suffering for the people of Cuba.
10:27And this is not only an attack on the people of Cuba, but on the people of the United States
10:31as well, on our democratic rights, on our rights to enjoy collaboration with Cuba's
10:37scientific community and all the wonders that they have been able to do despite the blockade.
10:42So I'm here to join with Cubans and non-Cubans to demand an end to the blockade, take Cuba
10:48off the list of state sponsors of terror.

12:12during the last 24 hours, killing at least 66 Palestinians.
12:16The Ministry of Health in Gaza confirmed in the last hours the Israeli genocidal army
12:21launched new attacks, which left over 241 injured.
12:25Rescue entities denounced that the Tel Aviv forces prevent the arrival of ambulances to
12:30the sites of the strikes, which hinders the care of the wounded at the rescue of people
12:35trapped under the rubble.
12:36Medical sources claimed that the death toll in the framework of the Israeli aggression
12:40against Gaza amounts to over 39,300 people, while the number of wounded is almost 91,000.
12:53The Lebanese resistance movement, Hezbollah, attacked Israeli army positions in the border
12:58towns of al-Manara and Shul Tula.
