Adobe Dimension Course Section 33 Creating Complex Models from Basic Shape

Adobe Dimension is a 3D Mockup tool which is a part of Adobe Creative Cloud. In this course, you will learn how to work in a 3d environment, import 3d models, add in textures, render and export final outputs.

In this video lesson, we will learn about Creating Complex Models from Basic Shape in Adobe Dimension.

00:00Although Adobe Dimension is not a 3D modeling tool, you can still create complex models
00:12by using the basic shapes right here that it has provided with.
00:17Let's say for example I am going to go around and make a simple table.
00:21In that case I am going to go around and grab in the shape that I want.
00:25Let's say for example I am going to go around and grab this cube right here just like this.
00:30I am going to go around and resize this cube right here just like this as you can see.
00:34And now I am going to go around and let's say add in a bevel right here to get this
00:39effect that I want right here just like this.
00:41So you can see that I have added in a bevel around over here as well.
00:46So now this is the content that I have right here and now I am going to go around and copy
00:53and paste this right here to get some detail around over here.
00:57And then I am going to go around and resize this out.
01:00So let's just go around and change around.
01:02Let me just go around and select this and change around the size right here.
01:07So this is the scale size right here.
01:09Let me just turn on the link and then resize this out a bit right here just like this.
01:14And then drag this up around over here just like this for a bit of a detail.
01:18So this is what you have as you can see right here.
01:21Drag this up right here just like this and then that is what you have.
01:25There is snapping going on right here just like this.
01:27So let's just go around over here and there's a bit of a detail as you can see right here
01:31just like this.
01:33Now I am going to go around and drag this up.
01:35So let's just go around over here.
01:37I can go around and turn this out into a group as you can see right here.
01:41So I can make it into a group and then drag this out right here.
01:45So now I am going to go around and take a cylinder, let's say for example, and then
01:49resize this out, scale this out right here.
01:52Let me just go around and change around the size right here just like this.
01:56And then let's just link out the size right here and then make it like a table stand right
02:01here.
02:02Like let's say for example, stand right here.
02:05So let's just go around and drag these out right here.
02:08So let's just go around and then click on this and then I am going to go around and
02:13then scale this out.
02:15So let's just scale around the Y right here just like this and then drag this out right
02:19here.
02:20And then this is what you have as you can see.
02:22So let's just go around and drag this up as you can see.
02:26And this is what you have.
02:27So now I am going to go around and make this like a leg.
02:29So let's just go around and copy and paste this out right here and then decrease out
02:34the size right here.
02:35And then let's just go around and increase out the size as well.
02:38So let's just go around over here and increase up the size right here just like this a bit.
02:44And then I'm going to go around add in a bit of a bevel right here just like this so that
02:48it gets this particular texture.
02:51And this is the effect that you have as you can see right here.
02:54So now I'm going to go around and drag this out right here on to the left right here just
02:59like this.
03:00And then I'm going to go around and drag this out around over here as well.
03:04So that is what you have as you can see.
03:06So let me just go around and drag this around over here and then I'm going to go around
03:11and make it a group as well.
03:13So similarly I'm going to go around and take this group 2 and then I'm going to go around
03:18and duplicate this and drag it around over here on to the other side as you can see right
03:23here just like this.
03:25And similarly I'm going to go around and drag these out right here.
03:29So let's select the group 2's right here and then group it out again.
03:33And then I'm going to go around and duplicate this out right here and drag this out around
03:38over here at the end as well.
03:40So once I go around and do that you can see that I got a table right here just like this.
03:45So now apart from that I can go around and then I can let's say for example resize this
03:51out right here just like this and then I'm going to go around and move this around over
03:56here and then I'm going to go around and resize this out right here just like this as well.
04:02So once I go around you can see that I got this design right here.
04:05So let's just go around and move this and I'm going to go around and move this out right
04:09here and then I'm going to go around and move this out as well just like this as you can
04:14see right here.
04:15So let's just go around and resize this out right here just like this and then that is
04:20the effect that you have.
04:22So let's just go around and move this out around over here as well.
04:25And this is the effect as you can see right here.
04:28Let's just go around over here on to this and add in a bubble around over here as well
04:33to get this kind of an effect.
04:35So let's just go around over here and then I'm going to go around and duplicate this
04:39and then drag this around over here on to the other side as well.
04:43So this is the table that I have.
04:46So now I can simply go around and select it out all and then group it out again.
04:51And now you can see that I have a model all made from scratch as you can see right here.
04:56And this is the technique that you can utilize in order to go around and then create up models
05:01from scratch.
05:02So now let's just go ahead and add in some textures.
05:06So let's just go around and add in this texture right here just like this and I'm going to
05:10go around and add in this texture right here just like this as well.
05:13So let's just go around and add in this texture let's say for example and that is what you
05:18have.
05:19So now let me just go around and do the same and add in metal textures let's say for example
05:23right here on to these right here just like this.
05:27Let me add in this texture and this texture right here just like this and I'm going to
05:32go around and go for a bit of a different texture around over here just like this.
05:36So let's just go around and add in the textures right here as well and I'm going to go around
05:42add in this texture right here just like this and maybe I'm going to go for a steel texture
05:47right here.
05:48So let's just go around over here and add in other textures like metal textures around
05:54over here just like this as well.
05:56So that is what you have as you can see you got a complete model as you can see right
06:00here.
06:01So now you can go ahead and then duplicate this out as well.
06:04So let's just go around and duplicate this out right here just like this and then it'll
06:09simply go around and create a copy of this and I can simply go around and move it out
06:14and you can see that from basic shapes you can see that I have different groups right
06:18here.
06:19So you can go around and further duplicate it out right here as well and then it'll create
06:23out the duplicate out of it but you can see that it is taking some time right here which
06:28is normal because it's quite detailed model right here that you can go around and get
06:33it out according to how you want.
06:35So this is what you have.
06:36So there's the duplicate models that you added in.
06:39So let's just go around and move these out and these are the models that you have right
06:43here just like this as you can see.
06:45So now just like that I'm going to go around and add in some environment as you can see
06:51right here and let's just go around and add it in.
06:54Let's say for example in the campsite right here just like this.
06:58So let's just go around add in background image as well and let's just go around and
07:03add let's say for example table right here just like this and let's just go around and
07:08mask out the image right here and mask out the perspective right here just like this.
07:13So once I do that all the lightings and everything is masked out and you can see that the model
07:18that we made from scratch is there and this is what you have just like this.
07:23So now I can simply go around and render it out according to how I want.
07:27So let's just go around and preview, render it out as well.
07:31So let's just go around and enable it and this is the end result as you can see just
07:35like this.
07:36So that is how you can go ahead and completely create complex models from basic shapes from
07:42scratch inside of Adobe Dimension.
07:45So hope you found this video useful.
